Advantages Advantages low calories, same great taste as of Pepsi

    Disadvantages Disadvantages artificial sweeteners, Phenylalanine

Preface Why am I reviewing this plain product? - I asked myself before I started. It sounds too plain and unteresting because everyone know about Pepsi. However, since I am a big fan of Pepsi's products, I have to write about it one day or another. So, the resolution for my 10th review is 'SIMPLE'. History of Pepsi As a pharmacist myself, I always be proud that Pepsi was found by a pharmacist in the US named Caleb Bradham in 1890s. At first, it is known as 'Brad's Drink'. He believed that his drink aided digestion much like the pepsin enzyme does, even though it was not used as an ingredient ... more

Imagine my relief when I found out that Pepsi made a low calorie drink aimed squarely at the male market. Yes I know that it is perfectly legal for us chaps to consume diet Pepsi or diet Cola but I always found it a little embarrassing asking for the aforementioned beverages. I always felt that somehow my masculinity was being called into question if I entered a shop and picked up the diet version of any drink, real men simply don’t consume diet drinks. That is until Pepsi Max hit the shelves. When Pepsi Max was launched the adverts featured young sporty chaps performing all sorts of extreme ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Too fizzy

Some people prefer Coke to Pepsi. For others, the opposite is true. Me? I don't give a 4X one way or the other...it's not as if it's an important beverage decision to make, is it? Not like beer. So whatever the trouble-n-strife manages to struggle all the way home from the shops with is fine by me. Mrs P is pretty game and will try anyything once (at least she used to), so in our house, just as you get used to one thing, it's gone and something else takes its place. Luckily, this policy doesn't extend to husbands....yet. And so it was that Diet Pepsi was unceremoniously replaced by PEPSI MAX ... more

Advantages Advantages Diet drink, good taste, good fizziness factor

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bad for you, unhealthy, addictive, can get expensive

As far as drinks are concerned, it’s very rare that I drink anything over than fizzy. I know it’s bad for me, my teeth, my insides, and my bank balance, but hot drinks, squash, water and fruit juice just don’t suffice. So, over the next few days I am going to release a number of opinions based on my favourite fizzy drinks, called ‘Trilogy of Terror’ because I’m aware of just how addicted I am to them, and how much they cost me! First up is Pepsi Max, which, I have to say, is my favourite of all fizzy drinks. I usually drink about a litre of the stuff per day ... more

Have you ever heard that stupid comment that tea is supposed to quench your first.Who the hell come out with something like that? You can imagine this now folks on a hot summers day at Wimbeldon,it's the end of the tennis match and someone shouts out" get the kettle on, these lads are gasping".Come on what is that all about?Yes its been pointed out this was a peter kay gag ive been caught out red handed lol. Advantages Advantages Great tasting and sugar free

Disadvantages Disadvantages Other people drink my stash

Diet coke, diet cola, don’t matter how you dress it up its yak. Or at least it was until Pepsi Max came on the scene. Strutting out in traditional Pepsi colours (Or is that colors) with a fab logo and cool add campaign (remember the surf style dudes and the one where he chases what I seem to remember as a Jaguar, because it had made of with his can, ‘Bad kitty’ I think) it certainly looked like a winner. Of course I didn’t believe it, when had diet ever tasted good before, I would not be fooled… You're history When I was growing up we never had pop (all fizzy drinks were referred to as pop in ... more

Advantages Advantages No sugar, low calories, still got a great taste

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lots of chemicals, and still not exactly good for you

Pepsi Max was first launched in 1993. Over that time it has actually managed to become a real part of the Pepsi range, and a success in general terms. The Max range has been accompanied be a series of ‘extreme’ sport adverts. This was trying to show Pepsi Max as very appealing to the young generation, the ads worked on me as a kid. It has also been endorsed by several celebrities, and is still going strong with the images of extreme and cool drink. The big selling point to the Pepsi Max drink is the fact that there is no sugar in it. They also claim that there is no loss to the ... more

Advantages Advantages fizzy and sweet but not sugary therefore better for your teeth

Disadvantages Disadvantages Is not a brilliant thirst quencher.

You know people say to write well you have to write about what you know, well on that premise I have decided to write about pepsi max. I drink at least a can’s worth of this stuff a day and on many occasions more that that. I love pepsi max, not in a platonic “you’re my best mate” kind of way but in a full on “you are the love of my life I cannot live without you” passionate love affair kind of way. Pepsi max is fairly obviously part of the pepsi family it bridges the gap between the sugary original pepsi and the watery diet variety. This pepsi has taste but doesn’t have the sugar! Exactly as ... more

Advantages Advantages Taste is pretty similar to normal Pepsi

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly strange aftertaste

Being partial to the odd can of fizzy pop, I worry about the amount of sugar that I'm taking in from these drinks. I have heard that standard colas such as Coke and Pepsi have the equivalent of 15 teaspoons of sugar in, which is a bit of a worry! Drinking pop with sweeteners sounds like a better alternative, but in the past the "diet" cola products have perhaps been perceived as aimed at women, rather than men. With the arrival of Pepsi Max, this situation changed. The marketing seemed squarely aimed at the male market with lads larking about on BMXs, snowboards, mountain bikes and so forth ... more

    Advantages Advantages Tastes Good

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Addictive, Not Healthy

I am a massive diet fizzy drink addict and if i'm honest, I really need to cut down! Pepsi by far is my favourite fizzy drink as it has such a sweet and refreshing flavour. The full sugar stuff is extremely sweet and sugarry (and full of calories), and the diet stuff is sweet but not too sweet. Pepsi Max is basically the same as diet pepsi, however it has bein modified to taste that bit sweeter by increasing the amount of apartame (a sweetener). Pepsi Max has the same appearence of coke; a caramael brown liquid which is nice and fizzy. The packaging is also similar; it comes in the same forms ... more
