...with adverts of the new Persil capsules. Out of curiosity, I went shopping at Sainsbury, and found them on special. Since then, Persil capsules have been a constant in my household.
Persil colour capsules comes in a box of 20. This is sufficient for 10 washes. A capsule contains liquid detergent in a water soluble plastic wrapping. The capsule dissolves upon contact with water, both hot and cold. According to Persil, my box of bio colour capsules ... ...balls for a full load. Persil suggest putting the capsules on top of the clothes, towards the back of the drum. For clothes that are heavily soiled, Persil recommend using 3 capsules. I sat in front of my washing machine to watch its effect. Within minutes, bubbles were observed and this continued until the rinsing stage. From the experiment I conducted previously, I hoped that 1. The wrapping was washed away during the rinsing stage.

...the most awful advert for persil washing capsules.
Television and billboard advertising followed and soon I was sick and tired of the things. However.... being a bit of a sucker for new cleaning products and an already user of persil I thought I would look out for them in the supermarkets.
When I next went shopping and saw that they cost about £3 for a box of 20 (I think) I thought no way, my persil tablets cost under £2 per box of 18. A while ... ...nice as normal persil products and infact a white shirt had to be re-washed with some vanish in wash liquid as it didn't get a pen mark off which my normal persil tablets would get off.
Would I buy the product again? NO! ...

I decided to try Persil capsules after a 50p coupon suddenly found its way to my door and I must admit I'm not greatly impressed with them! Even with the discount, a box of 20 capsules cost over £2 - so they had to do really well to convince me to keep using them...
GOOD Points: Well, they're easy to use. You just put 2 (0r 3 if it's a heavily soiled load) straight onto your washing in the drum. No scoops to measure and no little bag to bother with. ... ...box - wasn't an issue with tablets which are individually wrapped in plastic). And as I've already said - they're expensive.
Overall - yes they're easy and fun to use and they do have novelty value...but from my personal experience they're not as good as other Persil washing products. ...

...spotted a new product from Persil called Black Velvet.
I had not seen it advertised on T.V so decided to pick it up and take a look.
Its a new detergent specifically designed to clean and care for black and dark clothes. They claim its different because it actively helps to keep your blacks as black as new.
Well worth a try I thought, because some of my black and dark clothes have a grey look after two washes, I just hate it when that happens.
... ...colours you can buy, but Persil is a good brand and they have been around a while, long enough to put their money where their mouths are, it seems quite strong so I dont use as much as they suggest, it will last longer than the 14 washes.

Persil capsules are the newest thing on the market now. They're little capsules in the shape of a UFO, with persil washing liquid contained in them. I paid £2.95 for 20 capsules, which is 10 washes. It's expensive, I know, but as they are new, I thought I'd give them a go. It does say on the box to use 2 capsules in a light to normal soiling wash, and 3 in a heavy soiling wash.
Using them couldn't be simpler really. All you do is place your washing ... ...which is placed in the Persil box. This is handy if you do get any that leak. The clothes smell nice, and they are easy to use.
Although, I must say, I still prefer using the powder. This way, you can use however much or little you wish to. But, with the capsules, although you could use more, it would certainly work out more costly with the price of them.
It's an ingenius idea using capsules. It makes you wonder what they will come up with next, ...

...I had tended to use Persil soap powder and to be honest I think I will stick with it.
The capsules come in a nice attractive little box, which is small and compact and ideal for the small cupboard under my sink, a welcome change I thought from the large bulky box, which I usually struggle to find a place for, but a word of warning don’t be fooled by clever packaging.
My first negative observation was the price, at £2.60 for a box of twenty capsules ... ...my standard powder.
You need to use 2 capsules per load, or even 3 if it is heavily soiled load so a box doesn’t go very far. To be fair they are very easy to use, you simply place them inside the drum of your washing and they do smell very fresh but try and look beyond the hype.
It is also not possible to pre soak heavy soiled items as I sometimes do with my powder and it is important that you make sure that your hands are completely dry when ...

...one day my friend recommended persil washing liquid to me.I was hesitant to use it just incase it irritated our sensitive skin.I got a little bit from my friend to try and found out it is fine on our skins and it is great on getting my sons stains out.also it makes our clothes smell lovely.I get it from my local supermarket for 2.99 and this size does 30 washes,it is great value for money.I would recommend it to anyone. ...

I first discoverd black velvet washing liquid last year. Having turned my black clothes grey for years I was delighted to find a washing product that really did what it advertised.
I found that even older clothes that were already looking grey could be revitalised by this washing liquid. It is very a gentle product so no irritation. It also leaves clothes with a wonderful fresh smell which lasts. This is a product that I would thoroughly recommend ... ...delicate clothes. I use it in my washing machine as well as for hand washing. It is so mild that it does not irritate the skin when using for hand washing.
A product that does exactly what it claims to do. I only wish I had discovered it before. It does cost a little more that some washing products but it is well worth the extra money.
