Disadvantages: may adversely effect some hyper sensitive conditions

...I am sure have used Persil washing powder at some point in their lives, if you haven't used it yourself then I am sure you have at least heard of it. You would be hard pushed not to have heard of it, condidering it has been around for the last 90 years! Persil claim that they are one of the favourite washing powders in the UK, a claim I am not about to dispute. It is indeed my powder of choice, the original non bio one. I have tried thier other formats ...
...the way for me. Plus Persil is dermatologically tested, which gives me extra peace of mind that it wont affect my family's skin adversely. NON-BIO BEATS THE REST

Advantages: VALUE FOR MONEY
Disadvantages: NONE THAT I CAN THINK OF

I have used persil for a good many years as I find it cleans the clothes really well, removing stains and leaving a really fresh smell into the bargain. I think more people use persil than any other powder, I have tried others and sometimes still do, but still I come back to persil. You can buy it as a liquid, powder, and tablets. You can also buy persil purely for hand washing. I did stop using it a few years ago, as it was biological, something ...
...to come out in rashes, and were itching like mad. However, once the non bio came out I started to use it again, as non of the others seemed to clean as well as this. THE PACKAGING. ************* The box is mainly blue, with white at the top of the box, and in the centre is a picture of a little girl and a baby. In big red letters it says persil, and in smaller letters underneath it says the original non bio. There is a round seal with a picture ...

Vera, Vera, where for art thou Vera

Advantages: The smell. Clothes stay fresh for longer
Disadvantages: None

Persil non-biological washing powder with Aloe Vera is their lastest product on the market. The main reason why I bought this really was because it was £1 off the marked price. So, instead of paying £2.89, I paid £1.89 for a 1.15kg box. Not bad, 'eh? It says you can get up to 15 washes out of it, and it is dermatologically tested. On the side of the box it tells you what's in the box. It says it contains added Aloe Vera (real Aloe Vera extract) ...
...also read on the back of the box about Aloe Vera - where it is used, by whom and what for etc. It is reputed that it was even Cleopatra's beauty secret! Well, it could have been! The packet itself is quite a refreshing one. The box is white, with a green aloe vera drop going into a green pool of water. Now, onto the wash itself. On the other side of the box is how much to use on your light/normal/heavy soiling washes, and the soft/medium/hard water ...

Trial by Vimto

Advantages: Cleans stuff
Disadvantages: doesn't do my ironing

...more delicate fabrics. Persil is reasonably priced, dissolves well, doesn’t smell very strongly of anything. It comes in a range of packs from one person who doesn't change their clothes often enough, to huge family with obsessive habits size. It is regularly on three for two promotions at big supermarkets and is it keeps for ages it is well worth stocking up, just be sure to keep it in a dry spot. To bio or not to bio?

Advantages: pretty good
Disadvantages: the non biological causes fading

...going with this op shows Persil non-biological, but the heading seems to be for Persil powder generically, so here we go. Persil do quite a range of washing pwoders, and I've sampled a good few of them. Biological - this is the one I started with, and I use it extensively for coloured washes. I have no complaints at all, it's easy to use, you can buy it in large boxes, the instructions are clear and concise. It does not appear to cause any significant ...
...wool... bringing me to Persil silk and wool (I think that's what it's called, the packaging is ambiguous). This is a powder specifically designed for washing delicates. It's very good, no gradual eating away at your woolies, and a lovely soft feel to garments washed in it. I use it when have jumpers to wash, but often put a lot of other garments in as well, and I love what it does to the towels, they come out all soft and snuggly! Works well at ...

Persil the original non-bio

Advantages: It cleans
Disadvantages: The tab opening.

...Why the change to Persil non-bio? My son has sensitive skin. After extensive searches and testing of other powders, I found Persil non-bio. What it states on the box: 'Persil the original Non-Biological does not contain enzymes. Many people have found Persil Non-Biological formulations particularly suitable for their skin. But please note that no effective washing product can be guaranteed suitable for people with serious skin conditions. If you ...
...eye-catching blue, white with the Persil name in red. There is a cute little baby on the front. The box I use is 1.15kg and at a cost of between 1.99 and 2.49 depending on where I buy it. I get around 12 washes out of this little box, which isn't bad considering my little brood. I was really impressed by it's cleaning abilities, I always use the 40 degree wash. It cleaned all the stains on the clothes, including grass stains, blood (my other son ...

could be good!

Advantages: does clean your clothes.
Disadvantages: too much fragrance.

I have a problem with this powder. I have found that there is something in it just too strong for mine and my childrens skin. The fragrance is over powering so this is the problem I think. It does get rid of stains and it does make your clothes clean and smell fresh but I'd rather have a powder with no fragrance than itching my self to death because of too much.I'm hoping that one day they actually make a powder that has no fragrance or just a mild ...

Kind to your skin and nice for your clothes

Advantages: Easy to use, gets things clean
Disadvantages: If you overload the powder drawer it will clog it up.

...non-bio types. It's usually persil non-bio that's bought either tablet or powder. This comes in a nice light blue cardboard box which is 1.15kg in weight, the price is £1.49 and you can sometimes get bigger boxes on offer at Safeways. The picture on the front of the box is of a baby in a white vest and has a white baby blanket with it. The persil logo is written across the top of the box in big red letters. The picture makes you think that the ...
...they have soft sensative skin. Persil non-bio is dematalogically tested so it is kind to sensative skin. To use the powder is easy just pull up the rip up part on the top of the box and pour the right amount of powder into the powder compartment of your washing machine. It tells you the amounts to use on the side of the box, depending on what type of water is in your area, either hard, soft or medium. I always guess the amount to use and pour ...

Brilliant cleaning and freshness.

Advantages: Very good value, brilliant cleaning and freshness, no colour fading.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any at all.

...a big 5kg box of Persil biological powder in a green box on offer for £7 down from £9.38 and I thought I'll give it a go, as my mum uses persil and she thinks it's brilliant. It is one of the best you can buy. I've used it up now, and i was very impressed with it. The ingredients are as follows 15-30% - Zeolite. 5-15% - Anionic surfactant, oxygen based bleaching agents, non ionic surfactants. less than 5% - soap, polycarboxylate, phosponates. The ...
...fresh smell to it. I never use colour powder even though virtually all my clothes are coloureds because it doesn't clean as well as whites powder, And I use the gym 3 times a week so some of my clothes get sweaty, but my coloured clothes barely faded at all using it. Which? magazine test whites powders and said that most of them they tested didn't cause any fading of coloured clothes at all and the 2 or 3 that did only caused slight colour fading. ...

Why Persil?

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

How many washing powder manufacturers are there? Not that many as i am sure you are aware. So how come that these manufacturers all have more than one product hiding under a different and why do they claim that one is better than the other. It seems daft to me that a manufacturer quite openly admits that he sells inferior products. Is it them or us that is mad? So what has this got to do with Persil? Nothing I suppose except that, for some reason, ...

The best on the market

Advantages: see text
Disadvantages: -

...the collars clean but with Persil I just put them in the washing machine and the shirts are very clean. I did use a ‘cheap’ brand of washing up powder and found that the soap was left on the clothes, so on jeans you would get white patches. I was very disappointed with the results and I can safely say that I will be sticking to Persil in the long run. I bought my Persil this month and I was really happy that they were helping Comic Relief ...
...I have realised with Persil there’s no bubbling unlike some of the cheaper brands and it doesn’t wash away the colours. It’s also gentle on non white clothes and equally affective. The clothes smell nice after you have washed them and they are soft even though I haven’t added Comfort Fresh as I used to. ...

the non-bio way!

Advantages: kind to skin!
Disadvantages: none as of yet!

My powder of choice is persil non-bio! I have not always used this brand, however when my son was born i thought i better change from our biological powder to a non-bio brand. I chose persil because it is what my mother always used with our washing (my brother suffers from bad eczema and it suited him) I would however never change back! At the moment, i am only using a tiny 1kg (approx 10 washes) box (which looks strange to me as i'm used to a ...

Persil with essence of comfort

Advantages: brilliant cleaning on whites, fresh smelling,
Disadvantages: no colour protection, fades coloured clothes

Persil with essence of comfort is a detergent with a hint of added fabric conditioner. This is a new product which comes in powder, tablet and liquid varients. I bought this powder in a 1.1kg box for £2.88. I usually use Ariel or Daz because decided to try persil. this powder has a really nice fresh smell to it, it smells slightly of comfort which is really nice. It washes really well, whites get really white on a 40 degree cycle so hot washes aren't ...
...past using other varients of persil that this powder doesn't suds up that well, it is a low sudsing detergent which produces a soft sudsy liquid during the wash, this is good as by the last rinse the water is clear which is a sign that the powder has rinsed out well. I wouldn't say this powder softens your laundry very well on its own. on the box it says for extra freshness and softness use comfort conditioner. i always add comfort blue to the final ...

Percil Non-Bio - kind to sensitive skin

Advantages: Non-Bio Percil is kind to sensitive skin
Disadvantages: None that I have found

Before I had my children I used to use the same detergent that my Mother had always used when we lived in a soft water area......then I had my son and we moved to the West Midlands with a different water supplier and was a hard water area. I soon noticed the difference in my own skin and hair. Afters baths and showers my skin really dried out and my laundry after drying felt like cardboard and that was after conditioner and using a tumble dryer. ...
...skin so following the advice of my midwife, I switched to Percil Non-Bio and the difference was immediately obvious. It cleaned really well, even on tough stains (I have 4 young children and so often find I am not only removing stubborn stains like gravy and other food stuffs but grass and mud after football, paint and pen and even blood after those little falls!) It leaves clothes clean, bright, and soft, bedding and towels smelt great and fresh ...
