~~**~~ Peugeot 206 S 1.1. 3DR~~**~~
First of all let me explain something - I've not got a clue about cars and the lingo that is unfortunately synonymous with them, however, I do feel I'm qualified enough to talk about comfort, driveabilityness and whether the free mats were worth arguing for.
In the beginning I had a mini (a real mini) that was my pride and joy. A hand-me-down from granny who unfortunately decided to purchase it unbelievably in ... ...smelt - score one to Peugeot but a bit of slap for me for not spraying air freshener around after having wet dog in the boot - which by the way is roomy enough to put 3 Labradors, or by putting the seats down, a table and 4 chairs - bargain. My back seat is currently filled with rubbish but should a person want to sit there comfortably, they could - if only I had enough friends to use the back seats. Extras: There's a flip top bit in the front for ...

...up to about 115, despite Peugeot claiming a top speed of 110.
It's nippy and fast around town, corners like no other, and the TU1 59BHP engine is quite punchy. Especially 2nd gear, followed by 3rd. Its a bit wobbly at motorway speeds though, and if you're on an incline, then it will take you about an hour to get from 50 mph to 70 mph, and you'll find you have to use 4th gear. 3rd if the car is loaded up, which leads me on to the versatility of this ... ...the rear seats fold back completely, so you can use it as a van. Very useful for carrying stuff to and fro at the beginning / end of uni terms. The bit that annoys me, is that the boot lid (not the boot door!), if fitted correctly, will not allow the boot to close, and so you have to keep it loose, resting on the boot structure. Not sure if this very clear, and I appologize for my lack of knowledge when it comes to naming part of the boot.
Also, ...

Advantages: Style, shape and gearbox Disadvantages: Lack of some extras
I bought my peugeot a year ago and havent looked back since. This car has had a bit of bad press recently what with the brake and engine problems some of the cars have experienced but i have found neither of these issues relevant to me.
As i only passed my test a year ago i dont have too much driving experience and therefore havent driven many different cars but the first thing i noticed about my peugeot was the ease of the gearbox. The stick almost ... ...easier! Its very easy to drive and the power steering help when turing corners and reversing. The pedals are not too close together, which sometimes occurs in other cars, and means that when your driving there no risk of accidently pressing the wrong pedal. The brakes are great and much help if you need to brake quickly for whatever reason.
The cd player and airconditioning are great little extras that make driving round more comfortable. As the ...

For me, The Peugeot 206 is the perfect first car. I am an 18 year old male but not what many people would call a "boy racer". Now im going to be slightly biased aiming this at the young, first car market but its such a great little car its suitable for just about anyone.
Ive had my 206 verve for over a year now and nothing has gone wrong with it so far, nothing at all. For a first car, it honestly has everything. Firstly, it is usually assumed that ... ...a sport exhaust tip, small peugeot spoiler and alloy wheels and you can tell it is a young person's car because it looks great in the eyes of teenagers (and beyond) But it doesnt have to look that way there are different combinations of colour and additions to the car itself to give it a real personal feel.
Now to the actual driving and im not going to lie but obviously i havent had a lot of driving experience at my young age and don't have a lot ...

...engine is the 1124 which Peugeot and Citroen have had in their cars since the year dot, and they remain as strong as ever. It starts first time every time, and runs so smoothly and quietly you don't have to turn your radio up loud to disguise the noise. ...the official top speed from Peugeot is 98 mph, but I myself have only had 85 out of it at a struggle. As of yet, we have had no problems with the engine (touch wood) having covered around 8000 miles.
Petrol Economy: The 206 seems to be let down by its fuel economy, with my mother and I sometimes putting around 60 pounds a week in for fuel, doing minimal trips with the longest being 15 miles away 3 times a week. I was very suprised at this.
Driveability: ... ...in for a service, the peugeot garage found a few problems including the cv joint, we thought there was something up when we heard a cracking noise every time we turned the wheel of the car, apparently this is a common fault, so I would watch out for this as we had to pay out 500 pounds for the service and for the work to be done. Recently the car also failed its first M.O.T on the steering rack costing 150 pounds with the cost of the M.O.T included. ...

...experiences with my 206, and Peugeot in general have been enjoyable, and as a first car for a young driver it has the desirable (and enviable) looks yet still a small enough engine that ensures the insurance premiums won't be too high (at least when compared to other cars). Overall I would recommend a 206 to others, as long as they are prepared to accept its idiosyncracies. ...

...Touran for a 3 door Peugeot 206. Nonetheless, I would have had to wait several more days for them to source a bigger courtesy car, and I admit that I was seduced by the shiny gold metallic paint and sleek, sporty profile. It looked quite nippy so I agreed to take it. How wrong could I be?
I would say that a "good" small car is one that pulls off the trick of feeling larger. Unfortunately, the Peugeot is not one of these. The dark plastic trim makes ... ...too bad, although being around 5'10" tall I have to have the seat so far back that my four year old is very cramped in the rear seat behind me. My taller husband finds it hard to fit behind the wheel at all.
The visibility is reasonably good, which is just as well, as it takes about three hours to pull out of a junction. OK, that's a slight exaggeration, but it definitely doesn't feel "nippy". In fact, it feels just like driving a go-kart; when ...

The Peugeot 206 is one of the most popular cars on the road. I can understand this, they’re nice cars, relatively cheap, and have low insurance. They also have good fuel consumption figures. The co2 emissions for mine are 145, which mean that it’s in the lowest car tax brackets.
I have recently bought my 2nd 1.1 206. Overall, I think these cars both look good and are good to drive.
My new one is the 1.1 Ltd Edition fever, which I bought ... ...insurance. It also came with electric windows, front fog lights, power steering & a CD player as standard. It also has metallic paint, and body coloured bumpers and wing mirrors as standard.
I found with my other one, it could be unresponsive, because of the small engine. However, it seems to have been fixed with the newer model, as I find it very nippy and easy to run around in. It takes a while to accelerate, but it holds speed well, and is good ...

I bought a second hand 3dr S-reg 206 1.1 LX in super racing green 6 months ago. It's my very first car and I am so pleased with it.
The 1.1 engine seems remarkably pokey and cruises well on the motorway. I frequently travel to Birmingham from Portsmouth (around 180 miles) which only uses around a third of a tank of petrol (around £15), so is very economical. And of course, road tax is cheaper in cars with smaller engine sizes. So, my little car ... ...exceedingly roomy in the front, not really so in the back, but a lot more spacious than most 3dr cars. It's additional features are excellent too: electric windows, headlight beam adjusters for continental driving, instrument lighting dimmer, hidden spare wheel (underneath the car) to maximise boot space, boot light, collapsible rear seats to transport larger objects, excellent quality Blaupunkt standard r/c player and remote central locking.
However, ...

My wife and I bought this car at the beginning of April 2004. We were very impressed with the level of service given to us by the dealer (Peter Ambrose of Castleford).
