Cool 100cc for any 17 year old

Advantages: Great looks, powerful engine, good handling, lots of extra features
Disadvantages: fuel consumption

The Peugot Speedfight 2 (100cc) is a classy little 100cc scooter with plenty of power and plenty of great features. Learner legal, you can ride this bike at 17 with a CBT. Its also great value at just £2000 on the road (insurance, helmet, gloves & CBT) or about £1800 just for the bike. The bike is a dream to ride, with plenty of power enabling good acceleration and a steady top speed. I'm not the smallest rider (6 foot 5 tall, about 13 1/2 stone) ...
...perhaps even peaking 60. I have had this bike faster going downhill, but feel safe in the knowledge that this bike will take you to the speed limit quickly and easily. The handling is simply amazing too, and I would say the cornering is the best of any similar scooters. The new single front arm coupled with big fat shocks both front and back means the ride is very smooth. Disc brakes both front & back enable the quickest stopping without throwing ...

What makes this better than the rest

Advantages: Sleek design and excellent handling
Disadvantages: None really

Peugeot as we know design models (the car kind unfortunately) that are constantly well known and praised for their great handling wether you love them or hate them! So how does a Peugeot motorbike compare with their cars! Well, this is how I see it. I had one for 3 months. In that time I spent maybe £60 on petrol and 50,000 hours trying to get somewhere. This 50cc model offers a speed of mainly 45mph. I did manage 52mph once but when I saw the ...
...As we know, when Peugeot models and motors are pushed too hard they become unreliable, therefore, new parts are needed, replacements and repairs. It cost me just over £3.00 to fill the tiny tank, which could last you a fair time depending how much you travel about on the so called ' Go Faster'! When I had this bike, I did about 9miles a day on average, and the full tank last me from 3-6 days depending wever I was in and boring or out and stupid! ...

Commuter scooting... with style!

Advantages: cheap price, superb styling, nippy and an ideal commuter scooter
Disadvantages: vibration rattles, petrol tank size and temperamental auto-choke

Peugeot Speedfight 2 100cc Without a shadow of doubt the best looking scooter around. Flawless styling and very good MPG are just two of the many good points about this scooter. The only bad points so far are the tiny fuel tank which only holds 7.2 litres of fuel, the mirrors and a bit of a dodgy automatic choke which can prevent you from opening up the throttle for the first 400 metres. There is space under the seat for a small full face helmet. ...
...be a bit confusing as Peugeot recommends Esso 2t special semi-synthetic oil (which is actually classed as a synthetic blend oil and not semi-synthetic) but bike dealers and everyone else say Esso oil is rubbish and recommend various other oils. The seat lock appears to be as if it could be forced with not to much effort. Another reason why the under seat space should have been used to make the fuel tank bigger. All in all if you must have a scooter ...

50 flyer

Advantages: Quick , fun stylish
Disadvantages: expensive parts, can be unreliable if pushed.

I bought a 50cc speedfight when i turned 16 and got it derestricted straight away. I though it would only go about 45mph but it flew up to 55mph even 60 on some down hill straights, it was the most reliable bike about , with the clutch getting burnt out quite easily but it looked good. After i while i got bored with the performance and stuck on a Racing exhaust and racing clutch. I got the baby up 65 on the straight and 70 down hill, the speedo would ...

Simply the best

Advantages: Very quick smart looking, cheap to run
Disadvantages: other road users

The Speedfight 50 is the coolest scooter around,my son has had one for a couple of weeks now and loves it,i looked in all the bike shops and found this one to be the best scooter money can buy.Not only looks great, but an ace handler in all situations and quick with it,yes very nippy. The real bonus with this scooter is the built in snake lock under the tail light, turn a key wrap it round a lamp post and it locks itself,it is fantastic, there is also ...

Speedfight 1 - 50cc

Advantages: Nice and zippy
Disadvantages: Didnt like to start on cold mornings

After testing out several scooters i finally made the decision to get this one! I ended up with a used one, with several thousand miles on the clock for around £800 - a bargain!! When new they're around the £2000 mark. I found that on a cold morning the scooter didnt like to start up - and eventually the electric start would run out and i ended up kick starting it - which did the trick, after letting it warm up there were no more problems with it, ...
...around 55mph on a flat and almost reaching 65mph on a slight downhill slope!! If it was restricted to 33mph (legally it should be if you're 16 and only hold a provisional driving licence) you cant get out of peoples way, and cant keep up with traffic at 33mph - i had mine derestricted as soon as i bought it, and as long as you dont go making a song and dance about it no one will say anything. I would say to anyone with a full car driving licence ...

Advantages: looks alright
Disadvantages: shit

My experiances of a Peugeot Speedfight... I am lucky enough to have never personally purchased one however i spend alot of my time helping my frined to fix his as it is off the road more time than it is on. fortunally I went down a different route and bought a 2002 aplilia sr50 which althoegh shows its age is a good reliable run-about,.. unlike the Peugeot. When my friend bought the speedfight it was all in working condition however a month later ...
...all changed, firsty if goes through at least a new spark plug or two every week. some problems with the bike can be due to wear and tear, new belt, new bushes in steering etc however other things it had needed are new atomatic choke, spark plugs, piston, 2 sets of brake pads, spark plugs, carberatter fell apart, spark plugs, kickstand welding where spring joins, seat lock fell out totally, pannels fall off because they break where there held in, ...

100cc - Flying Machine RIP

Advantages: Fast, reliable, economical.
Disadvantages: Too fast for speedbumps

I have to start this review by saying that my Speedfight is no more. I rode that bike for over 2 years with no so much as a scratch. But one fateful day I was flying along a back road when I hit a speedbump at about 4mph. 20 feet later I landed. 20 feet later I stopped skidding. I was protected so I just had a few scratches. But the bike was a written off by my insurance agent. I got the money but I really miss my bike. The scooter was excellent. ...

The best looking 50cc moped/scooter

Advantages: Stylish, comfortable to ride, bright lights.
Disadvantages: acceleration

...the right one! The Peugeot speedfight 50 is in my opinion the best looking moped out at the moment. It isn't amazingly outrageous but still looks very good. Now down to its performance, when derestricted the peugeot goes in the region of 45-55mph dependant on condition of engine, wind direction etc. The moped is very economical and with the right oil runs well. The lights on this moped are very bright and very visible which is good this is needed ...
...with her zimophrame. The Peugeot is cheap to get serviced and have repaired but if you treat it good will be really reliable and a good investment. My advice is find a second hand one, bette value for money and the engine has been run in so it will go faster. pros:- good lights, reliable, quite quick, easy to ride, cheap for servicing and repair. cons:-acceleration when its cold and the autochoke is on. ...

Good bike or not as the case may be

Advantages: see below
Disadvantages: see below

comments I was thinking of buying one of these bike because they are stylish and cheap to run. The insurance, fuel and tax are all relitavly cheap. What chanched my mind is what people had to say about it. Within one week i heard several stories about these scooters saying how bad they are: Security: The under seat compartment is not very sucure and can be opened by vertually anyone. The steering lock can be broken off by turning the handel bars ...
...I've heard that these scooters wear easily. The common stories are clutch, brake pads and tires. The good point with the scooter is that it had 4 restrictors on it and it is still capable of 40mph. remove these and you could be reaching speeds of upto 60mph. My coice now hearing alll this would be to go for one of the foollowing: Aprilia RS50 RX50 Derbi GPR-50 Senda All of which have a six speed manual gear box. ...

Great looks and superb handling...

Advantages: Superb handling, excellent suspension
Disadvantages: Limited storage

After owning a Speedfight 2 WRC 206 100c for just 2 weeks I can now say that this is a fantastic bike. My previous scooter just didnt have the speed and the handling of this bike, cornering is so easy with the single arm, and suspension is so comfortable you dont notice any bumps in the road. The petrol tank holds about £4-£5 of unleaded, and of course Peugoet offer great insurance deals. Best of all you can be safe in the knowledge that other scooter ...

Peugoet Speedfight 50cc

Advantages: Great looks and Handling.
Disadvantages: Jammed seat lock

I had a Peugoet Speedfight for approx 6 months, from new and i really enjoyed the ride and the handling of it. The Boa lock which comes out the back of the bike is exceptional and unique to the Peugoet and is great for locking round lamposts and trees. Furthermore there is also a built in imobbiliser which also helps in security on the bike and for lowering the insurance. The bike looks quite nice as well. The only disadvantage was the locking seat ...

peugeot speedfight 100

Advantages: fast,light and 60mpg
Disadvantages: brakes are a nightmare to bleed.

Owned a 100cc speedfight for 10 months it was a nice looking scooter in metallic blue very nippy 2 stroke engine, very comfortable to ride with good fuel economy getting 60mpg, very maneuverable in traffic a pleasure to ride. The downside was when the brake pads on the front crumbled because they were old so i went to change them and realised the brake caliper was knackered as well paid a fortune for the caliper and the brakes were a complete nightmare ...
...sort it all out and then some s**t head stole it whilst i was on holiday, they did not get far because it had an immobiliser and locks on the front and back wheels sadly they decided to torch it. I recommend if you buy one that you protect it as best as you can from thieves it has a built in cable lock which pulls out the back of the ped but i only found it usefull when you found a spot where you could back up to a lampost. ...
