Advantages: Gives parents of two young children a lot of freedom Disadvantages: Really bad hood!, also very expensive
...and was happy that a Phil and Teds Sport would suit our needs. And so I watched Ebay like a hawk until one came up that looked to be in good condition and I bought it. I was very pleased when it arrived as it was indeed immaculate so I was very pleased although you do need to be aware of the different versions of this stroller. There is an earlier one which was called the E3, then came the Sport and I'm pretty sure the Sport was recently changed ... ...if you are considering a Phil and Teds Sport then you are already probably trawling the net looking for reviews on it. It a big buy so it's good to know the whole truth about it, so I hope my review will help. The Phil and Teds Sport as a Single Buggy I have used this as a single periodically with both children so I can give a review of it for an 11lb little girl and an almost- 2 stone toddler. I can safely say that for the toddler it is terrific. ...

Advantages: same size as a single while being a double Disadvantages: no shopping space
When i fell pregnant with my 3rd child, i already had a 1 yr old ( barely). So i knew i would need a good, sturdy and reliable double pram/buggy. So i started looking around at what other woman were using.
You have the chunky side by side, which is too wide to get through most shop doors.
Then you have the tandem buggy, which is far too heavy to get up and down stairs, and seeing as i live in a flat, that was out of the question.
Well, to say ... ...was unhappy with everything available!
I then frequented a specialist pram shop and came across this very odd looking pram.
It had a toddler seat perched on the top and the baby bassenet area in what seemed to be the basket. Well, that had me very interested.
It was the E3 doubles system.
The main frame was in fact the main seat confverted to the baby bassenet but because the toddler seat was above it, the baby was hidden from prying eyes. I ...

Advantages: Transport 2 Children at the same time, easy to push, eyecatching, Durable Disadvantages: Expensive to purchase, accessories expensive
The Phil & Teds Sport is a very adaptable pushchair suitable for a newborn and toddler and this is the very exact reason I decided buying this pushchair would be the best longterm as I bought this when my oldest child was 2 and a half and my youngest was a couple of months old. When purchasing a buggy I needed the option of it getting through doorways, and pavements and the Phil and Teds is easy to move through doors, shops etc with the 360 degree ... ...to the front of the Phil and Teds, to do this you remove the bar at the front and simply click it in, this position is used if you want to use the cocoon which is like a carry basket to slip under when the phil and teds seat is completely flat. Can be a bit tricky to get in and out but its lovely safe and secure for baby. The Basket on the Phil and Teds is pretty useless especially if you are carrying 2 toddlers, so there is an option to buy pannier ...

Advantages: brilliant steering, great range of products, stylish Disadvantages: occasional flat tyres
I am pleased to say that I purchased the buggy six months ago having read reviews about it on the internet, researching prices at retailers and talking to people that I saw using the buggy on the streets. Everything I heard was positive so I went ahead and bought it. I am impressed with the amount of extras that are available and the colour options that you can choose from (I choose the red one). There is a kit to convert the buggy into a double ... ...and holders to attach to the buggy. The best range I have seen has been from Kiddicare.com but I bought mine from Mothercare as they had a deal on at the time. The buggy itself is very easy to steer, it feels incredibly light but at the same time very sturdy. I have to take the pushchair down 13 steps in our front garden everyday and I manage it easily although if I had chosen a different buggy it would have been a different story. There is a safety ...

...in and reluctantly got a Phil & Teds Sport at a hefty £370 for basic pushchair and double kit. I've since bought the raincover £25 and the newborn cocoon £45.
As I already have a 3 year old it went done a treat with the children. He got to go back into a buggy till new baby arrived and the younger one loved being in the double seat low down. I'd been worried that the lower double seat would be too low down but no wet bums yet!
The only down sides ... ...on main seat with a child in
- my younger one would pull up the mudgards as they make a good sound on the wheel!
- it can be hard to put the child in the lower seat if they dont want to go in!
- when in newborn mode the baby is hidden under the double seat and people dont take as much care avoiding bumpting into the pushchair.
- the double seat's chair doesn't seem as sturdy when on top rather than below
- there's no where to store a bottle ...

Advantages: The easiest pram I've ever pushed Disadvantages: Can be heavy to lift
I have been a childminder for 6 years now and this is by far the best twin buggy I have found. I suffer from a bad back and this has been a godsend. It is really easy to push - you can push with 1 hand even with 2 kids in it. Easy to steer and great going up and down kerbs.
The downside to it is that it is heavy to lift into the car, can be awkward to get a child into the rear seat and the child in the back has a tendency to grab the wheels.
If ... ...recommend it. I have tried the side by side twins and front and back and this is by far the easiest to push. It folds down well and the wheels and handle come off easily if you need to compact it further. The handle is also adjustable if someone tall is pushing it.
It is a more expensive buggy than others but worth it in my opinion if you want something that is easy to push. I bought 2 of them for the business and it was money well spent. The kids ...

Advantages: Small double, great if I only want to take one child out. Disadvantages: Tyres pop easily, clips are fiddly, second seat useless for under 6 months.
When I first got this pram I was very pleased. I was pregnant with my third child and couldn't wait to use it. It fits through doors easily and if you buy special clips you can put your shopping on the handle. I hate other doubles so this is by far the best I can find. The price is very high when you take into account that you have to buy everything separately. ie: rain cover, doubles kit, bags, clips, cocoon, sleeping bag. It's the Ferrari of prams! ... ...shape and style. Until my tyre popped when I was eight months pregnant and had to lug it to the nearest Halfords with toddler in tow. I find the tyres are annoying as I have had three flat tyres in the space of six month. As soon as they are going down slightly the pram decides to be very difficult to push in my opinion. The clips to put baby/toddler in are too fiddly and can cut into there necks. There is too many clips. The pram is fine for a newborn ...

...in my mind that the Phil & Teds Sport is the best double around. I have had two single pushchairs and two double pushchairs and having had long conversations with my friends who have various different double buggies, this is still the best option if you are thinking of purchasing a double.
I would still recommend the Phil & Teds if you only have one child as it offers many advantages to other single pushchairs on the market however I think it offers ... ...children, ot if you have 1 child and are thinking of having another later, this would still be the one to buy.
The advantages of this pushchair more than outweigh any faults. The obvious benefit is the fact that it is not much bigger than a single pushchair making it the most accessible doubles option. It can also adapt to your needs as your family grows and lasts until your children are 5 years old - which I think is one of the few pushchairs that ...

I LOVE THIS PUSHCHAIR, i have four kids under four, the first two are 4 and 3 and i have a 18 months old set of twins, mad yes i admit it. This is the ultimate in pushchairs, after a lot of reviewing and purchasing two heavy unusable tandem pushchairs i finally decided to take the plunge and buy this one, it was quite expensive but i was in desperate need of one that i could actually push my newborn and 16 month old baby in, and it was definitely worth it, this pushchair can used as a single or you can attach a doubles kit underneath which is an extra seat for baby , and you do have ... ...baby lies down from birth and can sit up in the seat around 4-6 months, but it is a doddle to push even with one hand i can turn it so easily and my sons are not the lightest babies! ...was until someone recommended the Phil and Ted's E3. I tried one out and I knew I had to have one!
It was expensive to buy, and I found even second hand ones were still more than any other double at brand new price, but in my opinion it was worth it.

Advantages: Light and easy to use Disadvantages: Shopping basket hard to get too at times
My second baby was due when my daughter was only 20 months old, so I looked into the options avaliable. My daughter was not yet big enough to use a buggy board, so I needed to invest in a double buggy. I have just purchased the phil and teds sport version a couple of months ago, I have a 14 month old and a 11 week old baby. This pushchair is a life saver as it's compact for a double buggy and also very easy to get up the curbs. Unlike other tandem pushchairs you have to jump on the end of them to get up the curb! Advantages: Light and easy to handle, slimmer than a traditional double, easy to fold. Disadvantages: Little bag space, large in the boot, faults develop later on
My thinking was the same as others when I saw people with this buggy, it looks uncomfortable and the poor child on the bottom can't see anything! but since having a newborn baby as well as my 20 month old I did in fact buy one. Now I cannot recommend it enough as it is very light, easy to manouver and nowhere near as wide as a traditional double buggy. My toddler likes it especially as he is now higher up than in his old buggy so gets to see more ... ...The down side is that it does take up a lot of boot space so you have to go easy on the shopping and there is not a lot of room to carry bags when both children are in it. You can buy hooks for your bags that clip onto the handle bar though. It is quite durable in my opinion as my toddler kicks his feet on the top a lot and I am always banging into things. No damage so far!
