    Phillips 37PF5520D/10. Catchy title for a telly or what? Why do these guys do that? There must be a reason. It's probably got something to do with mass production. One brand, so many variations - can't name them all. I now have 3 children but if, following a miraculous reconnecting of my Vas Deferens, I were to have another, I would not be calling him or her Jones 45Fy23d. It's too hard for teachers. Anyway, this is a rental job. I gave up buying after 2 went kaput a few weeks after their respective warranties. Imagine Asian workers smirking whilst programming the self-destruct circuitry.     I had minor problems from day one with this TV but 15 months after purchase it stopped working completly all we have is a blue screen. I contacted Philips and they want to charge me £300 just to look at it (repair will cost extra) have been told that they put capasitor's in there with a working life of 1000 hours which goes just beyond the warranty (don't know how true this is) I would suggest if you buy one of these Tv's to get extended warranty, I didn't and now have to pay for my mistake.     This is the usual response when someone walks into my living room these days. The 37" phillips looks a treat and really impresses at first sight. The modern look of the glossy black surround with silver speakers was what enticed me to buy in the first place, together with the reasonable cost in comparison with other similar size and spec lcd's. I've owned this tv for a few month's now and so far it has not disappointed in any way. The lcd screen itself is bright and clear with a large number of pixels (hence hd compliance).
