    Recently we have been haunted by our cordless home phones! Ringing once during the night with no caller, giving us the fright of our lives, cutting out during a call and crackling so we can't hear the other person talking! We decided we definitely needed to invest in a new set and what better time than the sales! We searched around a few shops and online and felt the best deal we found was from Tesco.     My husband and I have spent an absolute fortune over the years on telephones; from corded to cordless and now digital. Our previous digital phones; all of which were BT, failed within 12 months of purchase and subsequently, ended up on a landfill site!! The Product The product I am discussing is our current phone, namely the triple Philips CD 245, which have all stood the test of time, as they are as good now as the day we first bought them some 19 months ago.     I ordered this telephone 4 months ago and I only received it last week ! So we can say that I deserve it… Indeed the delivery was always delayed and I was a bit upset not to say desperate because my old telephone (which was, to be honest, not so old but so cheap…) didn’t work properly. Indeed, it was always making strange noises when I was phoning and it was really irritating, you can believe me. So I was relieved to receive and use my Philips CD2452S.     I bought 6 months back, and it worked just OK. I had problems with answering machine from the beginning, but did not care much. Now it suddenly fails to register handsets. The base unit is heating up. Philips support folks say that heating of base unit means the unit itself got damaged and it should be thrown into bin. They don;t want to cover it under 1-yr guarantee. I'm very disappointed for paying huge bucks for such a crap piece Don't buy it

    Very disappointed by this telephone. The sound is not brillant and the answering machine is absolutely inaudible. Don't buy it. SP

    DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP... The base is burning and Philips do not want t repair. You'd better buy another phone
