    Advantages Advantages Can receive FM broadcasts as well as DAB

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No belt clip, but light enough to carry in shirt pocket

    DAB Radio is said to be the future of radio broadcasting, but for a personal Walkman style radio FM offers more "availability". For example, I live outside Glasgow city centre, and DAB reception is good. However, on a bus or walking around the city centre, DAB becomes unlistenable. That's why I like the Philips DA1000 – it offers the advantages of DAB, but can receive FM broadcasts as well. For me, this offers an ideal solution.     I was looking for a DAB portable radio for quite a long time. My husband loves listening to 5 Live. He has about 4 radios in the house and he has them all on at the same time to listen to football results in every room. Of cause the problem was when he had to go out he would miss all the scores. With Christmas coming I decided to buy one. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews. I thought this one looked ideal and I managed to get it for a very good price on ebay.
