Advantages: Vertical Steam, Special Tip & Good Design Disadvantages: Price
The Philips GC 4340 is a precise steam iron which has a special tip so ironing is made easier for those hard to reach places on some garments. I have used the iron a few times and can say that its quite easy to use compared to the iron we had before this one. I'm comparing it on the basis that the iron we had before had a load of different setting for ironing which I found very confusing.

Advantages: Feature packed, looks good too. Disadvantages: A bit pricey for an iron?
...but thinking about it, this Philips one is really good! We have owned it for a year now and have never had any problems with it - the plate is still scale free (we live in a hard water area) and it still performs really well.
£60+ may be a lot to pay for an iron, but I think that in this instance it is well worth it. Check out the Philips website for all the features - we just plug it in and push it over our clothes which come out crease free with ...

...least, a breeze, and the Philips Azure Iron ticks both of them boxes.
The Iron has a ceramic ironing plate, which translates as 'glides across your clothes'! It makes the action of ironing effortless. My shirts can be ironed and on in a matter of moments. The other great feature of this iron is the many functions that it has built in for steam ironing. You can iron without steam, with a little steam, or with enough steam to drive a train. It has ... ...is yours completely. Now to the most important feature of this iron; its looks. Spot on! With its predominately black and grey body, it is a nice change to the usual decoratif of white appliances. I have only one gripe about this product, and it is very minor. Their is a cleaning process that you must undertake regularly, to keep the steam ing mechanism working properly. I forgot to do this once, and my shirt had to go back through the wash due to ...

Quick review of Philips GC 4340 Azure Precise
This iron is superb, especially since I run my own ironing business, this allows me to do the ironing in half the time I usually would, that really isn't an exagerration. There are more expensive irons on the market but in my experience the difference in quality is so slight that it is almost pointless spending more money on an iron. One flaw in it however, is it's reliability, I have had 3 of these same irons btu it hasn't cost me anything as they are insured. Even after breakign this many times, I still keep getting the same one though, simply because of how good it is when it DOES work. ...

Quick review of Philips GC 4340 Azure Precise
I have just purchased this iron and used it on the weekend for the first time, I have to say I dislike ironing but after using this iron I was suprised how easy it was to use, the plate glided across the clothes with ease, it also gets very hot, and I actually enjoyed ironing sad I know, I was using a steam generator iron before deciding to buy this, but will continue to use the Phillips iron, I paid £49.99 and it was well worth the money ...

Advantages: Weight, long cord, great steam & soleplate cover Disadvantages: yet to find
This iron was bought after checking out reviews on this site & I could not be more pleased!! I hate ironing & very little can make it easier but this iron takes a lot of the hard work out of the task! It feels robust without the heaviness of others I have owned & glides through the creases as though of a heavy design. It has a long 3m lead which means I can get across a worktop from the plug & to end of board without it pulling taught as a 2m lead ... ...EASY to wrap around the storage area & stay there with a clip! The baseplate cover is brilliant! so often I have an iron cooling on the side and catch my forearm to suffer a burn but this stops this happening.
some facts from the box:

this iron was very good value for money as it was reduced to half price. I would not ave liked to have paid the full price. The iron does a good on getting the clothes smooth and crease free. However it does feel a little cheap and not made with the best plastic. I also found it did not sit up very well on the irnoning table. The iron itself is a nice colour so easy on the eye. It's not too heavy and therefore easy to use when lifting and pulling ...

...and this is my first Philips iron - I always thought they were the lower end of the market quality-wise - wrong!
The Careeza coating has not caused any sticking or marking and even copes with jeans and heavy cord trousers. The iron has a good solid weight to it and is comfortable to use. It holds a fair amount of water too, so doesn't have to be refilled so often. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, easy to handle, heats quickly and safety cap is useful Disadvantages: None
I bought this iron after using Tefal products for a number of years and have to say I am very impressed.
The iron heats quickly and glides through even difficult items, including jeans and work trousers. Childrens' clothes and shirts were a breeze.
I also found that "difficult" items, such a polyester were very easy to iron - I often find that irons get too hot and are too diffficult to regulate to stop them sticking to delicate fabrics. I didn't ...
