Every 24 to 30 months I have to replace my kettle, why I know not but they only seem to last a month longer than the warranty! With this in mind one of my priorities is that I dont over spend knowing it will be replaced within 2 years or so. I have 2 of these kettles, I'm working in a rented holiday appartment in France and it'sgot a few of disadvantages. Firstly, when it heats up the outer metal casing becomes extremely hot, I've burnt myself a couple of times. Secondly, not sure if it's because France has a lower mains voltage than the UK but it takes a good few minutes to heat up the water, painfully slow I'd go as far as to say. Thirldy, those in hard or soft water areas, the limescale/scum is attracted to the metal inside of the kettle, not nice in your brew. Fourthly, the snap-back lid design is very tricky to open, especially when new. I wouldn't buy one again. ...
