Advantages Advantages Does the job, cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's not the most beautiful one out there.

Going on a budget with a brand I trust: Philips HD2566 Sometimes you just don't have a lot of money and you still want to buy nice things. I'm always looking for new things and my money is often gone before I realise it. Then I come to the point that I need to buy something that I almost use every day and decide that I don't want to spend a lot of money. I had this with buying a toaster. I do find it very important that it works and does a good job but didn't really want to spend a lot of money on it. So I came across a Philips HD2566/10 and even when I didn't like the way it looks, I thought ... more

Advantages Advantages Will toast a variety of bread widths, reasonble price around 20pounds

Disadvantages Disadvantages Baguette slices are hard to extract

Toast is a very friendly thing, hot and crunchy and ready almost instantly, I have never met any one who didn´t like toast so if you are looking for a cheap and cheerful toaster consider this Philips two slice with extra wide slots. This is a great little toaster which we have been using for about three years. It is in the more economical end of the market at about 25pounds and would be ideal for just about anyone on a budget. It measures 180cm high by 210cm depth and 130cm wide so it is quite compact. The main body is in easy to wipe white plastic which keeps cool when toasting while the base ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, not too much spring in the slider, inexpensive

Disadvantages Disadvantages Boxy, crumb tray can be difficult to remove

I bought this toaster for my mum's house. Strangely, in all the years she has lived there, she has never owned one. She does, however, eat toast on a regular basis, but prefers to prepare it under the grill rather than purchasing a conventional toaster. I find this very odd, as she isn't shot of a bob or two and she doesn't have any moral objections to the invention of the toaster. Whenever I have quizzed her on this front she replies vaguely that she just hasn't got round to buying one. Anyhow, call me lazy but I can't be bothered faffing around waiting for the grill to warm up and turning ... more

    Advantages Advantages many

    Disadvantages Disadvantages some

Previously we had a toaster that was of this description in our old flat and it was very basic but yet did a good enough job of making all sorts of reasonable toast, from chewy through to crispy, according to the setting which is used. White in colour and retails at approximately £20 which is very cheap yet excellent for a toaster of this description. Will almost perfectly toast two slices of bread at once (or one slice if the purchaser prefers) and will take longer than the usual toaster. Will take approximately 3 minutes to toast the bread and this can feel like a long time if the purchaser ... more
