Beautiful noise maker?

Advantages: Neat design, plays CD CD-R CD-RW, excellent sound, MW/FM stereo and tape deck
Disadvantages: Not MP3 compatible

...on my choice of the Philips MC-145 for little under £40. I gladly handed over the money and then headed home. To my surprise it was a very light box. I hate heavy things so you'll be glad to know this wasn't a struggle to carry home at all, more awkward sized. Space is an issue in my house, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it fitted perfectly, speakers and all, on a small side table. Now ready to blast out some noise from this little beauty, ...

Disadvantages: Very basic features (but all of which work well)

On looking for a mini hi fi (or micro hi-fi system, if you want to be precise) I was pleased to find this for under £40, especially with it being from a reputable brand. It came well packaged and protected. The machine has three functions: CD, Radio and Cassette. The radio picks up FM and MW signals, with a long wire aerial, which is very flexible. I can easily pick up French, Spanish and German radio stations on MW. The cassette deck is very ...
...than some machines. It seems very sturdy as well, though I haven't used it much. The CD player is of a very good quality, and the 'bass boost' function (which works across all of the functions) is invaluable. It plays CD-Rs as well. The lid to where the CD is inserted seems sligtly flimsy. It comes with a very slim, fashionable remote control which is good, but has a very small range, and doesn't work unless you point directly at it with nothing ...
