At first sight this shaver looks somewhat gimicky. It does, however, give an excellent shave. The best shaver I have ever used on my neck with no sign of the soreness associated with some other shavers. It is not as quiet as my last shaver but the noise is not intrusive. I have had the Philips Arcitec Shaver for 11 months and it is now faulty and the 2 year warranty supplied by Philips is useless as they are trying to wriggle out of it because I bought the shaver on ebay. The shaver is still working and I think it is the charger that is faulty. So buyer beware where you buy from. and do keep the receipt, although it didn't help me.
