It's Not Philips, It's Wigggly's

Advantages: Reliable, robust, affordable
Disadvantages: Not a top of the range model, could be more stylish

I've had my Philips C12 for well over a year now, so thought it was about time I tried to do it justice here on Ciao. Look The C12 standardly comes in a matt black finish. Admittedly it's not the most stylish of phones, but it's not that bad either. Perhaps the worst feature looks wise is the aerial, which sticks out a good inch over the top of the phone. (Not that uncommon when these phones first came out on the market, but certainly nowadays ...
...same. Accessories The Philips C12 (as far as I'm aware) does not have any official covers, but you can pick up compatibles online at www.mobilefaces.com and on market stalls. Changing covers is a nightmare though, with loads of tiny screws to be removed, but it is possible, I have done it. You can also get flashing aerials, which simply screw on, and are realistically the cheaper and easier option for jazzing up the phone a bit. As for phone ...

...walked away with my new Philips Savvy on the orange pay as you go tariff. Once home I ripped open the box to see a levely metallic blue phone, about 5 inches in length and just short of 2 inches wide. The ariel is fixed and protrudes about 1 inch above the phone. The keypad has the usual numbers/text buttons and hash and star key. There are also 5 other buttons, a menu button, 'c' button, green button with a telephone on it, a red button and the ...
...Nokia 5110, one of the reasons I bought the phone, as some phones buttons are too small and very fiddly to use, especially when sending text messages. The keypad can be locked again another feature essential to me, as I am terrible for running up a bill for dialling the speaking clock or something, after placing the phone in my pocket or bag. The battery is small and very easy to install, resembling 4 AA batteries strapped together, the battery pack ...

OLD YELLER...faithful to the end

Advantages: Cheap and durable
Disadvantages: A bit old fashioned

I bought a Phillips Savvy C12 a few years ago on a pay-as-you-go deal. Not to use a PAYG, but because the phone I had under my contract was broken and this was a cheap option. I simply replaced the sim card and I was ready to go. Working on construction sites, I have crunched, lost, smashed, had stolen, dropped from a great height, and generally mislaid my way through a large number of mobile phones. Therefore, price and durability are big considerations ...
...standby times which ensures the phone is not going to die on you at an inconvenient moment, hopefully! It also reduces the need for constant recharging. The standard 'Slim' battery gives standby times of from 130 to 250 hours and talk times from 2 to 4 hours. There's also an optional 'Plus' battery which gives times of 240 to 460 hours standby and 3 to 7 hours talk time. The weight is around 140 grams and dimensions of 100mmx40mmx20mm (with the standard ...

Advantages: Easy to use, ideal first phone

...Well this is where the Philips Savvy comes into play. The first thing that is best to do is weigh up the PROS and CONS of the handset. PROS - * Quite a tough little phone - hard to damage * Reception Coverage * Battery life * Although the phone will cut out with a dead battery, you can usually switch it on quickly to see if you have recieved any SMS or phone calls! * Very reliable - It is likely to last a few years CONS - * Small Screen ...

I'M THE SAD COW THAT CAN'T AFFORD A PHONE

Advantages: Cheap and god phone
Disadvantages: It broke

Like the title!? ~ Well thats me, I think I'm the only 14 yr old girl in the whole nation who hasn't got her own mobile phone!!! I mean, I'd like a phone but with parents who don't think its neccessary and myself with no money, I guess I'm just going to keep on saving! Hopefully this opinion will put a few bob my way too! I'm nearly there now, I just need about 30 and I can have a phone! I'm looking to get the Nokia 3210e on Orange from Argos. ...
...am I writing an opinion on this phone when I don't even have a phone!? Well, the main reason why my parents don't think its neccessary for me to get a phone is because WE already have one, yes WE. It's supposed to be my mums phone and it is but she hardly ever needs or uses it so she lets me and my sisters use it when we need it. It's really handy and also real easy to use. The C12 isn't what I'd say the most popular and attractive phone on the ...

...year ago I bought my Philips Savvy on a pay-as-you-go contract with Virgin Mobile. It's not cutting edge design anymore, but it hasn't aged too badly. Since I got my phone through Virgin Mobile, it has a dull blue fascia. However I am aware that you can purchase a Savvy in more brighter colours. It really depends on where you go for your phone. (When you buy your phone, be aware that the colour isn't going to change - you cannot purchase interchangeable ...
...Philips Savvy comes with standard features such as an address book and caller ID, but it does have a few nifty gimmicks as well. If you send a text message to another Philips phone, then you can add an emoticon. If you try to send a picture to someone without a non-Philips phone, then they get the text equivalent, e.g. [picture of rainclouds] turns to ;;; A Biorhythm Calender is also included. This is really a very simplified horoscope. Enter your ...

...very proud owner of the Philips C12 on the Bt Cellnet pay and go network. I bought the phone for 49.99, which was very good, value for money as the only phones at these prices were bigger, heavier and had very poor battery life compared to the C12. Network Availability. I bought this phone, last Christmas. In fact I bought two. One for myself and one for my then, 15 year old step daughter. The reason I bought them, was because I got them a little cheaper, for buying them with my credit card, at the time. I paid 25 each for them. For a first phone, for my step daughter, I didn't want to spend a bomb, as I was convinced she would loose it. (she proved me wrong)I was happy to pay this. My opinion about this phone ...

BT Cellnet - Phillips U

Advantages: a good style of phone
Disadvantages: no 5 top up cards :(

Well after having my phone since Christmas this year i thought i had better write a review on it. The phone is the Cellnet U design and in the bright yellow colour, always cheers you up even on the rainy day! The phone also comes in Green and Black. The keypad is good, therefore you can have a quick access to the keys, making it easy to such in the menu and write the text messages we all love to do. Not incredibly Savvy

Advantages: Its good as a phone, for calls and maybe text too. The buttons are easy to press.
Disadvantages: Too many to mention, read my opinions!

I originally bought the Philips C12, due to the cheap price, the fact that I could now text my friends (this being my first phone) and more importantly, I had free text messages for 3 months!! :-) I bought the phone from The Link (part of the Dixons group), who have some of the most irritating and dozey staff I have ever met in a shop! Anyway, its a BTCellnet branded phone, in a jet black colour (which I'm told isn't made anymore, so I'm not happy!) ...
...easy to use - is you don't put a cover on the phone! Otherwise you have to press really hard to get the letters you want, when texting, which is annoying. The phone on the whole is okay, it does exactly what it says it does and I suppose its good, if you don't like having games on your mobile phone. There is one 'game' on it (if you can call it that) called "Biocalendar" and its a basic prediction program based on your Birthdate. You put your birthdate ...

I have had my Philips phone for nearly two years now and it is still as good as new. It is my third handset though as in the first year I had lots of problems with faulty handsets. Philips C12 - Consider this---

Advantages: easy to use, cheap to buy
Disadvantages: not up with technology anymore, bland

I have had this phone for about eighteen months now, and so I think I qualify to write an opinion on how good or bad it is. I have actually bought a new phone since the original purchase of my Philips, but I stayed with the same phone, mainly because it is so cheap! The battery is standard, basically nothing special as you may expect! Well, the talktime on it quite poor, not really that long. You can be on the phone for fifteen minutes after fully ...
...disappeared from the top left hand corner of he screen. I recharge mine about twice a week, partly because I receive so many text messages (no, I’m not popular, BT send me one every time I receive an email!) which wears the battery down considerably. It takes about two hours, maybe a bit less to fully recharge the phone from being ‘dead’. The display is, in a word, minimal. With only two lines of text seen at any one time, this ...

I’ve just started a new job, it means that I have to spend quite some time each day travelling. So it seemed a logical move to get a new mobile phone, the deciding factor above all else was cost. As it would be an emergency phone I wanted one that would be cheap to run, you can of course get phones for “nothing” these days, you just have to pay through the nose to keep it going so I wanted a pay as you go scheme. For my area, Salisbury, ...

As anyone who has been to Salisbury recently knows there are hundreds of mobile phone shops everywhere (at least a dozen, I’m prone to exaggeration) over the past year they have sprung up like mushrooms. I think just after the Christmas sales was probably the wrong time of the year to hunt for phones, as every man and his dog seemed to have got there first. The cheapest phones on any pay as you go scheme ...
