Advantages Advantages Fantastic picture quality, reliable, plays many formats

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

My old dvd player finally died in a shower of sparks and a nasty clicking noise from the power supply - my brush with death via the medium of dvd meant that I was in the market for a new player! (this review uses common terms and acronyms for some of the features/settings - if you are confused by any then I've written a small glossary at the bottom of this review which will hopefully help you if you get stuck!) Advantages Advantages Plays DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, SACD, CD, MP3, JPEG, CD-R

Disadvantages Disadvantages Haven't found any yet

I decided I wanted the Pioneer DV-565. It was due to be replaced soon, so I thought I'd be able to get it cheap. I found it online for £125. Advantages Advantages Plays everything you throw at it

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a great deal

Although this DVD player has been around for a while now there are not many players that can live up to that of the Pioneer DV-575A-S. I have the 565A as the living room DVD Player and I was so impressed with it I went out and bought the 575A-S for my bedroom. At a lower price, around £100, and the same great performance it was hard not to. This little DVD player packs a powerful punch as plays all manner of discs, including DVD-Audio and SACD (Super Audio CD). With a heap of connections on the back such as 5.1 audio out, component video out and s-video you will be hard pushed to find a device ... more
