Advantages Prices are competitive
Disadvantages You must check actual photographer portfolios, not just the corporate examples!
Issues As a franchise the quality of photography is very much variable. There are the obvious benefits of belonging to a national brand. You know they will have all the right equipment, the photos will be processed properly, framed well etc etc However, my own experience resulted in some very poor photos. The lighting was all wrong and the process took so long that the younger members of the group photos (one aged 3) got easily bored and as such the poses themselves were a little rushed to avoid tantrums. I take full responsibility for my children and grand children, but I thought ...

Advantages Some nice pictures were taken. The girls were pleasant in the store
Disadvantages Don't expect that the photos that you ask for will be put on! Bad customer services! Expensive
We decided to have photos taken of our 15 month old son. We were told that if we brought them that day we would get big discounts, however we decided to wait and look through them first and they kindly held our discounts. We set an appointment a couple of days later (on a Sunday) to view the photos and select. They were 45 minutes late for our appointment which we were fine about as they were apologetic, however it did mean that our son was restless and it made concentrating on selecting pictures more difficult. We selected our photos and then when checking before paying I noticed that they ...

I found the Pixie photo package extremely expensive if a customer decided to buy all the photo's taken in store. The single photo for £4.99 was fantastic, but this is usually just a portrait photo which you can have taken cheaper, in a less stressful environment for your child if you shopped around.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - what a rip off, I have just returned from a shopping trip where I was inticed into there consession in Mothercare with an offer of £10 with a free 10" X 12" photo. This 'free' photo was the first shot taken and they any additional photos were very expensive the price actually when up if I chose the smaller 8" X 6" size !?!? how!?!?!? they also add frames on which bumps the price up and dont tell you till the end. Only one way to sum them up is SCAM!!! avoid at all cost.

I found the £10 offer a scam. They lure you in with this offer then you are asked if you want the pink or blue background, no other choices. They take approx 3 photos for your '£10 photo' and you have to choose from the 3, even if your child is screwing their face up or not smiling at all. You should be given the choice of background colour and asked if you are happy with your '£10 photo' choice, it's not a lot to ask!!! If pixifoto are not prepared to provide choice they should at least be up front

I recently attended a photo session with my little son who at the time was 8 weeks old. We didn't get to view the photos at the time they were taken either and as it happened the free one I received for the £4.99 was the worst one where his face was all screwed up! Additional pictures were quite expensive and I paid £24 for 8 little wallet sized pictures. I'm going again tomorrow to one where they show you the pictures as they're taken so fingers crossed the £4.99 one will be better...

Advantages you get a 'GIFT'
Disadvantages the 'GIFT' costs you a tenner and loads of your time
'Lovely' shades of grey instead of the promised white background, bleached out skin and reddish hair rather than the blonde that is plain to see on my little boys head!!!!!!!! That was my first experience with them, so I refused to buy any photos and when I made a fuss of the 'quality' of the pictures, the staff decided to call for technical assistance. What a carry on! A customer was waiting after me and was obviously frustrated having been rescheduled from the previous Wednesday due to technical problems and was obviously going to be dissapointed again! Chatting with her, I deducted from the ...
