A wonderful evning out

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None

I first came across Pizza Express when i went with my family last month to visit my brother at University for his birthday. My brother had described it to us s a posh version of Pizza Hut with more choice and was more tasty. I absolutly love pizza so this sounded right up my street. ~~Arriving~~ The first thing that struck me as we entered Pizza Express in Leamington Spa was the smell. It smelled heavenly of all different yummy food smells and ...
...be similar to that of Pizza Hut with your typical kind of pizzas but i was wrong. They had a very extensive choice and most of them had slightly different types of toppings on like different kinds of hams and cheeses, olives, capers, anchovies, asparagus and even a few pizzas with egg on them! If Pizza isn't for you there's also a good choice of pastas including Lasagne and Canelloni and also a choice of several salads. They also do a vegetarian ...

Practically Perfect Pizza

Advantages: Good food, service, the prices
Disadvantages: Can't think of any major ones

What it is: Pizza Express is a chain of restaurants that it’s keen on top quality produce and bona fide food. The main focus is on stylish restaurants and value for money. The company employs 6000 employees and has more than 280 restaurants across the UK. It has sells it’s own brand of pizza’s at Waitrose and Sainsbury’s supermarkets. The Décor: Each restaurant is different. At a recent visit the restaurant had wooden floors, round tables and square ...
...garlic bread and salads. The pizza menu is very extensive, they all have Italian names that may be a little difficult to pronounce! Whatever type of pizza you want you will find it here. I recently tried a new pizza, ‘Gorgonzola’ which is yummy blue cheese and I heartily recommended it if you are a fan of strong cheese. There is also a Braille menu on request apparently. Whilst the main courses are mostly pizza, there are a few pasta dishes such ...

The greasy spoon with an egg obsession

Advantages: Pizza with pizzaz and people that don't take the pizz
Disadvantages: portions small enough to force you to order dessert (shame, that one)

I stood outside Pizza Express, confused and almost blinded by the giant blue million-watt fluorescent tubing. I was examining the menu and was left a little undecided as to whether to enter or not. With main courses with names like ‘Sloppy Guiseppe’ and ‘Ham and eggs’, I was a little unsure whether the theme was Italian or greasy spoon. Unperturbed by the oddly named food (or the fact that the prices went up in denominations ...
...and why the cutlery in Pizza Express seemed so top heavy (an issue which was raised by one of the serving staff, who explained it was the reason why she kept dropping knives and forks all the time). Our drinks arrived, two bottles Chianti, priced at £14.95 (for 100cl) and very nice, according to the Mrs. and my glass of Coke, not thrilling but I did get a slice of lime, which made me feel a little special. We talked cheerily through the wait for ...

Pizza the way God intended

Advantages: Delicious food and good value for what you get
Disadvantages: Akin to using a plastic spade to mine coal

...I've been to dozens of Pizza Expresses all over the country, and there are certain things that are constants throughout. All the restaurants tend to have very modern décor - original and clever lighting, modern art, lots of wrought iron, minimalistic but gorgeous flower arrangements and pleasant, speedy staff. But anyway, the food. Pizzas as we know 'em are not really very Italian at all - in fact most of our favourite 'Italian' dishes were invented ...
...to its food than, say, Pizza Hut. You can't have a deep pan pizza ('This is not a loaf of bread for goodness' sake!' I think I heard one chef say) or plasticky cheese in the crust. You can have just one type of base, and one size (just right for an individual person) combined with a million different types of toppings. Not just cheese and pineapple and the other usual high street fare, but more traditional Italian cheeses, vegetables, even egg. The ...

Neighbourhood Pizza

Advantages: Great pizza
Disadvantages: I'm expanding

Pizza Express is everywhere. There's probably one near you. If you live within a 20 mile radius of a McJunk and Pizza Hut then there's a Pizza Express just waiting for you to visit. I like Pizza Express. Why? Because they sell the best pizza east of Kalamazoo. Given absolute freedom to choose then Ginos East and My Pi real Chicago stuffed pizza is my preference. I don't scare easy and after a few beers I'll happily eat a slice from a New York street ...
...pretty hungry to go to Pizza Hut, but I'll accept Dominos as an easy alternative to getting dressed. Pizza Express is different. It sells product that Italians may recognise as a pizza like substance, and it does so with a McDonalds consistency whilst maintaining a neighbourhood restaurant feel. The food is good, particularly the dough balls - oh the dough balls - they account for my personal dough ball like physique. Try these instead of the garlic ...

I is Sloppy G. Aiii.

Advantages: You go in hungry, you come out full!
Disadvantages: A pizza called Sloppy G. Ugh, the possibilities!

...I visited said Pizza Emporium over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the meal I was dished up. I find it a reliable restaurant with consistent service, pleasant surroundings and decent tucker. This time around I helped myself to the Garlic Bread Starter, American Hot Pizza (Pepperoni, jalapeno peppers), and the Chocolate Fudge Cake. (Well, somebody had to!) I also benefited from Mrs Claw not being too partial to the extra portion of spicy beef she ...
...slightly perturbed at the 'Soho' Pizza that comes with lettuce and unmelted slivers of parmesan, which to me defeats the object. Pizzas should be dripping with lard and chunks of dead animal... I just can't get excited by plants. And being called 'Soho'... well, that's just a wasted opportunity in my book! Other frights include the couple of pizzas that come with a fried egg in the middle. A fried egg!? It looks like a leper woman's boob! Not a ...

Definately Express

Advantages: Child Friendly, quick service, good food!
Disadvantages: Feel like they want rid off you!

My friend phone Pizza Express to make a booking for 3 adults, 2 children and 3 babies in prams! When we got there we had a table for 8 with no room for the prams and the staff didn't really make an effort to try and accommodate the prams more helpfully! Eventually we were all seated, the drinks arrived, food order was taken and things seemed to be going ok! The 2 girls got crayons but only 2 pieces of paper between them for drawing! The starters ...
...child sized. 1 mushroom pizza and 1 cheese and tomato pizza as well as a child's pizza! They looked and tasted good! We mums started to eat when 2 of the babies gave out loud wails of hunger so pizza's were quickly cut up and there were no problems about 2 mums breast feeding although the restaurant was full of business men in suits! The problem we had was that the waitress seemed keen to get rid of us and kept coming over asking if we were finished ...

Pizza Express - Something for everyone!!

Advantages: reasonably low cost, delicious food, lots of options
Disadvantages: the calorie content of everything!

After a recent vist to pizza express I thought it's about time I wrote them a review. In my opinion you can't really fault them. They mix good quality food, with a cosy ambience that doesn't scream restaurant chain and all this for a reasonable price. On our recent visit we used a voucher you can print out online that entitled us to a starter, a main course and a glass of wine or beer for just £10. Thats amazing value, and for a group of 8 of us ...
...these are warm balls of pizza dough with a garlic butter dip. I think this would usually be on the menu for around £2.99. There are other options for starters such as Garlic Bread & Olives. The Pizza's are cooked from scratch and made to the Italian style with a thin crispy base. I am vegetarian and asked for one of the ones on the menu to be modified and they were happy to do this with no extra charge. They have every topping you can think of and ...

Advantages: great food
Disadvantages: always busy

...where to go for dinner Pizza Express in one of my first choices. This is an Italian restaurant and although it is not the most expensive restaurant it is not one of the cheapest either compared to the likes of Pizza Hut, but I believe that it is value for money as the food is great. For a starter, main course and drink it is about £14. Pizza Express serve a wide range of starters from Garlic Bread, Dough Balls, Bruschetta, various salads, mushroom ...
...any complaints in the many Pizza Express restaurants that I have been to, they are all clean and similar looking, what I like is that the kitchen is visible and you can see the chef cooking your dinner. The only disadvantage is you need to really book a table at Pizza Express, unless you get there early as they are always fully booked in the evenings. Although if they are full you can always order a take away and enjoy your favourite dinner from ...

I will pay full price if you just take a shower

Advantages: Express
Disadvantages: Smelly manager

...So the perfect option. Pizza Express. As the name suggests its going to be express and express was exactly what we encountered. The rather cute waitress plowed through the crowded restaurant, plonked us in a corner and before we had time to take our coats off let alone sit down she insisted we made our drinks order. No time to browse the wine menu i simply said; "cheapest bottle of red, thankkkk...." before i could say "thank you" she was gone. At ...
...menu, after all this is pizza EXPRESS. BOOM. The bottle of red is on the table just as we take off our coats. BISH "are you ready for your order". "We need menus", "oh right". I could go about how i was rushed.... but that gets boring fast. What really annoyed me about Pizza Express is how i asked for a tea with lemon. The waitress rushes back to the table with my tea but with milk instead. She tells me that they have no lemons? "NO LEMONS? Are you ...

Pizza Express Yes - Shut the Hut.

Advantages: Bright, Fresh Food and Surroundings
Disadvantages: None found yet

Pizza Express have picked up where Pizza Hut have fallen down. Their premises are always fresh and bright, their staff are friendly no matter how busy they get and, most important, their pizza's taste like pizza's should. Anyone who has read my Pizza Hut opinion will know how wonderful they were in years gone by. Pizza Express seem to realise that the most important part of having a name using the word 'pizza' is being able to provide that product ...

Some prefer to tease their tastebuds, soaking up the heady aroma of other peoples food whilst awaiting that first burst ...

Perfect for pizzaaholics

Advantages: A little more upmarket than usual high street pizza chains
Disadvantages: none!

Pizza Express are not your average, run of the mill pizza chain type restaurants,I think they offer a little more than just your bog standard cheese & tomato on toast. I have visited a few Pizza Express restaurants and each time the food, service and cleanliness have been excellent. They offer delicious pizza, pasta & salads and heavenly italian desserts. The surroundings are generally pleasing, clean and bright. For those calorie counters amongst you,the ...

They have also started doing kids parties which I think are more suited to older kids,at around £6.00 per rugrat. Each guest gets to spend some time with the chef and make their own pizza, great! In my opinion thats far better than having 7 little Kylies running aroung treading cake into your carpet! And educational too! ...

Chocolate Fudge Cake Heaven

Advantages: A Chocolate Fudge cake to die for
Disadvantages: Pizzas can seem a little on the small side

...makes any shopping trip complete. Pizza express has long been a favourite of my family, and we just keep going back. With many restaurants all over the world - even Delhi - you're never far from a guaranteed good meal. The pizzas served are always good (my personal favourite being a Fiorentina with Extra Ham), always freshly cooked, usually in front of you, but sometimes could be a little bigger. There is a good choice of pizzas, with new choices ...

Advantages: Authentic
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive

...good quality, good value pizza, Pizza Express is hard to beat. The quality of food in its restaurants is excellent. The good news is that Sainsburys has started to stock the Pizza Express range of products, including pizzas, garlic bread and even salad dressing! So what are they like? In a word - AUTHENTIC! The tomato and mozzarella pizza is loaded with cubes of mozzarella which melt perfectly when the pizza is cooked. The garlic bread is light, ...
...are: Tomato and mozzarella pizza £3.95 Garlic bread £1.99 Salad dressing (225g) £1.95 BUT given the quality, they still represent good value for money. Arguably, it's cheaper than going to the restaurants, so you could claim you are saving money! So, if you enjoy the food at Pizza Express restaurants, I recommend that you pop down to Sainsburys and buy some to cook at home. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I haven't seen this product range ...

Don't go if you are in a rush

Advantages: Food is good value
Disadvantages: Terrible service

Pizza express as I am sure most people know is a chain of italian style restuarants that serve typical pizza and pasta dishes. There is one in every town you visit but they do differ in terms of service as I found out. I have been here on a number of occasions but I am going to talk in this review about Valentines night. You can book in this place which is good as then you don't have to worry about geting a table. As it turned out though we needn't ...

Portion sizes are good and they will do things to suit yoru taste, for example when I have their caesar salad I ask for it without anchovies whih is never a problem. They offer a good selection of drinks and again at reasonable prices. If you want two courses ...
