DisadvantagesEverything about www.planigo.com

"Planigo.com are the biggest crooks in the online holiday booking company world. Do not EVER go near them. I planned long and hard to go to the Classic Le Mans in July 2008. Yes this is a popular event, so I booked 3 nights Friday-Sunday through this bunch of crooks in February, and PAID the full amount. In April they reneged on the contract. They offered me somewhere else 75 miles away ! I did some more searching and found another hotel ..." Read review

Planigo fiasco

Advantagesnone

DisadvantagesTook money for a booking that never existed

"We booked through Planigo one night at a hotel in Cannes prior to a fortnight at a Pierre-Vacances resort nearby. On arrival, the hotelier had not been informed of our booking, and since he only takes minimum 7 night stays over the peak season, the booking made through Planigo was not ever available. The hotelier and his wife were fantastically kind and helpful, phoning Planigo on our behalf (and even giving us refreshments while they did so) but ..." Read review

Quick review of Planigo.com

"DO NOT BOOK A HOLIDAY WITH PLANIGO. Planigo offered me a quote for a hotel, which I accepted. Then they sent a quote that was over double the original amount, naturally this was rejected and queried. They then sent the original quote which i again accepted...When the invoice came in it was for double the quote again. At this point I cancelled the booking both by telephone and email. Planigo accepted they made a mistake and claimed they had not made any charges...when i saw my credit card statement they had taken £300 from me!! I have had to go to my credit card company to get a refund as Planigo were non compliant. PLANIGO ARE LIARS AND CHEATS DO NOT TRUST THEM.

"BEWARE!! we booked and paid for a holiday with these people- 48 hours before we arrived at the hotel (by which time we were already abroad) they called to say the hotel was fully booked. THEY HAD NOT EVEN CONFIRMED AND PAID FOR OUR BOOKING. after two hours on the phone they agreed to give us an alternative room for half price but when we arrived, we found out that the regular price was half what we had paid anyway. THEY ARE LIARS AND THIEVES. IF YOU VALUE YOUR HOLIDAY, DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE.

"Planigo is a complete con. We booked our favourite hotel in Dieppe, unwittingly through Planigo (having suffered from their con tricks before). We were told it was full and forced into the Ibis with 24 hours cooling off period (not terribly long). Eventually found the hotel phone number to discover that it wasn't full at all.

"I would reiterate the alst review that this site is a complete con. I have booked the same hotel in Paris fro two different dfates over the rugby world cup and both times had a message to say it was now full and was offered an inferior alternative. I am not sure if tey are regulated but I doubt it. PLease do not use them, they waste peoples time.

"On no account do not have any dealings with Planigo, I requested hotels with disabled access but they totally ignored that. They booked a hotel in the wrong town, every time I tried to contact them about the problem I would be played music to until I hung up. I had to pay for the hotel they had incorrectley booked AND the hotel in the town I needed to be in. I sent e-mails and they ignored them. When I did manage to get in contact every thing was not their fault and they refused to refund on the incorrectley booked hotel.

Quick review of Planigo.com

"Planigo Rips you off!! I tried to book a hotel for 6 people with Planigo. I needed 3 rooms. Their site allows you to indicate more then one room, but then it does not allow you to enter more than 4 guests. So I booked the rooms one at a time. The first two went well, but at the third Planigo responded that the hotel was fully booked. Of course I immediately (within the hour!) canceled the first two rooms. Planigo however charged my card for the cancellations.

Quick review of Planigo.com

"I booked a apartment in La Plage, France for a recent skiing holiday (Jan 09). After reading the reviews on the internet about Planigo, i was very nervous that my booking did not exist. however my experience with Planigo/France Hotel Reservations was very good, I recieved quick confirmation, my voucher was emailed to me promptly, they rang me a week before to confirm that everything was ok, the apartments reception rang me to see what time we arrived, and the apartment that I stayed in was fabulous! No complaints whatsoever.

Planigo.com- quite a fine deal

Advantagesavailability

Disadvantages just a bit slow in reaction

"Booking hotels through the internet has always been a bit risky, but not all sites are dishonest. One of my favorites is Planigo.com, with an alternative site francehotelreservation.com. I have traveled four times in France with their help, and I am a bit surprised to see all the negative publicity regarding their services. My last trip to La Rochelle was in December last year and I have booked through the Planigo search engine a great hotel. It ..." Read review

Avoid them like the plague.

AdvantagesWeb site ok.

DisadvantagesVery bad hotline, credit card number before confirmation, hostel unware of them.

"Hi I tried to book an hostel from this site. Without any response from them after 12 hours I decided to call the number they provide. I called them 4 times and each time waited for more than 5 minutes without being able to get an operator. The 5th time I got someone who said she's going to call someone else and she kept me waiting for ages, so I gave up. I then tried the number of the hostel given by the yellow pages, after explaining my case ..." Read review

"Made a booking for 2 rooms for 1 night in France. I had to cancel the booking a few days later. They emailed a refund form for completion and state that they will refund my money up to 10 weeks later less a charge or e23.10 for admin. It was only did I realise that they had charged my card before arrival--first time I have come across that. I have tried to fax this form back to a number that does not exist. Non of the contact numbers work. I enventually ..." Read review

Thanks for the warning

Advantagesgood feedback - saved me some grief I believe

DisadvantagesNot sure yet - only just discovered this yesterday.

"I stumbled across the planigo site yesterday and was impressed that a hotel normally always booked solid for a MotoGP race in Assen, Holland had availability, not to mention significant price reduction for other European hotels. I thought perhaps too good to be true. When I saw that a 15% charge would be applied for cancellations, regardless if done way in advance, turned me off -I didn't want to commit yet. Within a few minutes of my online reservations, ..." Read review

Quick review of Planigo.com

"Please don't ever book your holiday with Planigo. I though i'd found a wonderful last minute deal but it turned out that it was too good to be true. I had my reservation confirmed only to be told the day before I left that the apartment block was full. I was offered one alternative with less beds for 150 Euros more or one with the same amount of beds for 500 Euros more. After paying the extra 150 Euros I didn't recieve a voucher proving I'd paid for my rooms until the day after I'd left the country. Not very useful. Once I'd returned to the UK I found out the charges to my credit card had very little resemblence to the original price. RUBBISH!

PLANIGO Prince of Thieves

AdvantagesNon

DisadvantagesYou will get ripped off

"Beware of this lot. I booked two rooms with Planigo in May 2008. The price quoted was 105.45GBP, they then went on to take 155.45GBP from my card account. I complained to my card supplier and advised Planigo what I had done. They then telephoned me to say because I had informed my card supplier they were cancelling the booking. They then sent an email saying I had cancelled the booking. To date July 2008 they have not returned the £155.45 to my account ..." Read review
