Planigo is a complete con. We booked our favourite hotel in Dieppe, unwittingly through Planigo (having suffered from their con tricks before). We were told it was full and forced into the Ibis with 24 hours cooling off period (not terribly long). Eventually found the hotel phone number to discover that it wasn't full at all.

I would reiterate the alst review that this site is a complete con. I have booked the same hotel in Paris fro two different dfates over the rugby world cup and both times had a message to say it was now full and was offered an inferior alternative. I am not sure if tey are regulated but I doubt it. PLease do not use them, they waste peoples time.

On no account do not have any dealings with Planigo, I requested hotels with disabled access but they totally ignored that. They booked a hotel in the wrong town, every time I tried to contact them about the problem I would be played music to until I hung up. I had to pay for the hotel they had incorrectley booked AND the hotel in the town I needed to be in. I sent e-mails and they ignored them. When I did manage to get in contact every thing was not their fault and they refused to refund on the incorrectley booked hotel.

Planigo Rips you off!! I tried to book a hotel for 6 people with Planigo. I needed 3 rooms. Their site allows you to indicate more then one room, but then it does not allow you to enter more than 4 guests. So I booked the rooms one at a time. The first two went well, but at the third Planigo responded that the hotel was fully booked. Of course I immediately (within the hour!) canceled the first two rooms. Planigo however charged my card for the cancellations.

Advantages: availability
Disadvantages: just a bit slow in reaction

Booking hotels through the internet has always been a bit risky, but not all sites are dishonest. One of my favorites is Planigo.com, with an alternative site francehotelreservation.com. I have traveled four times in France with their help, and I am a bit surprised to see all the negative publicity regarding their services. Hi I tried to book an hostel from this site. Without any response from them after 12 hours I decided to call the number they provide. I called them 4 times and each time waited for more than 5 minutes without being able to get an operator. The 5th time I got someone who said she's going to call someone else and she kept me waiting for ages, so I gave up. Please don't ever book your holiday with Planigo. I though i'd found a wonderful last minute deal but it turned out that it was too good to be true. I had my reservation confirmed only to be told the day before I left that the apartment block was full. I was offered one alternative with less beds for 150 Euros more or one with the same amount of beds for 500 Euros more. After paying the extra 150 Euros I didn't recieve a voucher proving I'd paid for my rooms until the day after I'd left the country. Not very useful. Once I'd returned to the UK I found out the charges to my credit card had very little resemblence to the original price. RUBBISH!

Beware of this lot. I booked two rooms with Planigo in May 2008. The price quoted was 105.45GBP, they then went on to take 155.45GBP from my card account. I complained to my card supplier and advised Planigo what I had done. They then telephoned me to say because I had informed my card supplier they were cancelling the booking. They then sent an email saying I had cancelled the booking. To date July 2008 they have not returned the £155.45 to my account ... Read review

Booking through the internet is not always an easy thing to do, especially when you don't know what to choose and who to trust. I chose ebooking several times, however, since it is easily accessible and quite convenient. But those who tell you to go for bigger sites and names are sometimes wrong, it happened to me twice to be scammed by well-known travel operators online. DON'T BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY AND DONT WHATEVER YOU DO BOOK THE RESIDENCE LE GOLLET IN MEGEVE. THE ACCESS MAP ON THE PLANIGO WEBSITE IS OF A STREET AT THE OTHER REMOTE END OF THE TOWN - NOT IN THE CENTRE OF THE TOWN AS THE MAP INDICATES IT IS. IT WAS A TWENTY MINUTE WALK TO THE TOWN CENTRE! THE HOSTEL - FOR THAT IS WHAT IT IS - CLAIMS THREE STARS! IT IS REALLY OF A YOUTH HOSTEL TYPE ACCOMMODATION AND NOT AS INDICATED. THE WEBSITE DOES NOT PUBLISH ANY REVIEWS ON THE RESIDENCE - POSSIBLY BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL NEGATIVE.

Avoid Planigo.com!!! I've just spent 15 minutes on the phone with a 'manager' and am left feeling certain that this company has NO concept of the meaning of customer service. Two weeks ago, I booked a hotel through their site, only to receive a phone call telling me that their advertised price was lower than the actual price. My experience with Planigo is quite good. I tried several possibilities to book a double room in Paris on the 24 of october, but everything was fully booked. I even try, unsucessfully, to call directly some hotel I knew. The single and only one who find me a good place to sleep was Planigo. In the hurry, I used the call center number (what a surprise, no overcharge !!!) and an agent find out something for me in ten minutes, after what I've recieved ... Read review
