Advantages: Huge range of products! Great for a bargain and gadgets. Disadvantages: Slow as most items ship from Jersey
...but for DVDs and Gadgets Play.com is one of my first stops. The catalogue is enormous and I'll often end up impulse buying while browsing the pre-orders and special offers. The gadgets section is incredibly addictive! My biggest criticism though is with said special offers as I've on a few occasions placed my order only for it to never dispatch or come back into stock. They could do with a stock system that is a little less delayed and doesn't let ... ...when they can no longer supply something. Still the one time they had taken my money for something like this they refunded within a few days of contacting them. In 8 years of ordering I've only had one thing go missing (a £3.99 DVD) but unlike most I don't blame the retailer, it's Royal Mail who were at fault. play.com failed to deliver Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on the release date. They advertised delivery on release date. Despite making numerous phone calls, (a total of 48 minutes) I still do not have the game. I was told they would provide a full refund when I called on on 14th Nov 09. Then on 16th Nov 09, called again to ensure the refund had been processed. I was then told I will have to wait till 6th Dec 09 before I can apply for a refund, which ...

...have been a customer of play.com for a least two years now and they are hands down the best retailer for movies, CD's and games around. It is so simple to purchase items, all you do is click on buy then login and pay. There are no hidden delivery charges and there are no "extra" payments required for thing you don't even require. Even without these tricks which are wielded by many other companies you still get great prices and if you want to check ... ...to add shipping charges to prices from other sites!). Please note that the items do come from Jersey which means that delivery does take around five days maximum and sometimes if there are postal strikes the time required for the parcel to reach your house can peak at ten days. Therefore I wouldn't recommend this site for last minute buying but if you are looking for something that is much cheaper then this site is the way to go. The site itself ...

Play.com is the best online video and electrical store I have come across. The way in which the website is set out means that quick and easy navigation to your required product is a breeze. Simply hover the mouse above games and you are instantly given a list of every console for which they stock games, allowing you to go straight to what you want.
I'm quite a casual gamer, so I don't usually buy games the day they come out, as I prefer to wait ... ...online stores such other than play.com to sell that product on their website. This often leads to cut prices as stores compete to be the cheapest. For example FIFA 10 was available for Playstation 3 for a mere £29 within a couple of weeks of being released. This is outstanding value for money, as in most stores it is still around £40, so thats a saving of over 25%.

I have always used Play.com for buying any DVD's,CD's & Books. I find that their prices are very reasonable compared to most online stores. Also cheaper than many stores in our local shopping centre. There is also the advantage of not having to be served by someone who cannot for the life of them be bothered to even utter a hello to you and wish that they were somwhere else! Free delivery on EVERYTHING! Which is a total added bonus. I mean have you ... ...for any item? I think, personally is a bit insane! Delivery is also very quick.

What a complete waste of time. I pre ordered windows 7 from PLay in JULY 2009 and it did not appear on release date of 23rd October. They blame the postal strike, but as I told them on the phone for it to be delivered ont he Thursday, it HAD to be in the delivery office by midnight Wednesday. The strike was Thursday and Friday, yet only the drivers were off on Thursday and the delivery staff Friday. So, if they had posted it in time to arrive Thursday, ... ...So I wated till Saturday and Wednesdays post was deilivered, yet no windows 7. Completely incompetent p[rat on the end of the phone just could not get my complaint and when I asked to speak to a manager twice they obviously bottled out and would not speak to me...I was not rude so there was no reason. I have now raised a complaint and will push to get recompense for me having to go out and buy it. Oh and they said it should arrive Monday or Tuesday.....probably, ...

I have been using play.com for some time now and find them an excellent company to deal with. Prices are discounted and delivery is free. In addition there are regular promotions where I always manage to find something I will enjoy.
The site is easy to navigate and user history is accurate and up-to-date so you can always check what is happening on your account.
I have only ever had one problem where the wrong CD was delivered. Their customer service ... ...the postage was refunded to my account.
Over the time I have used play.com their product range has grown and I always check with them first when I want to buy something online. I usually find them to be best value, particularly when postage is taken into account. ...

One of the easiest and cheapest websites for online purchases. A big advantage over many of its rivals is the free delivery, whatever the price. I have had absolutely no problems with receiving or returning orders and they are one of the first websites I go to when making an online purchase. I have never had to deal with there customer service department so can't comment on that.

I have been using Play.com for some time now and havent had many complaints about them untill recently.
I pre-orderd a game expecting the usual play.com promise of reciving the game promptly upon its release date if not a few days before. However the game was released and my status was not updated to "dispatched" as i had expected, instead the words "packing" appeared. So, i called the customer support line to receive a comment about not having ... ...i recieved a e-mail from play.com saying my order had been dipatched meaning my account had been debited, So i could not purchase the game as i did not want to be paying twice! im now stuck waiting for a game that i had pre-orderd long after its release date and i can not even purchase it sooner.
This experiance has left me frustrated with play.com and i do not think i will be making many more purchases with them in the near future.

this me be obvious to some people but for those that its not this site for me is fantastic i have a few children ranging in ages this site provides me with no end of presents the sell quirky items from films and gadgets as well as selling the norm such as games,music,dvds well im the sort of person that shops around but ill always end up back at play free delivery wins me over there is also a market place very similar to a secondhand shop without ... ...that sometimes that bit is overpriced but serious now they have introduced a toy department this site is now for me a must for christmas getting excited while writing that i suggest you take an hour out and have a good look thru the site to enjoy all its benefits i might had the clothes are good too. ...

...have bought many items from Play.com and I have found the webste very straight forward to use. The procedure for making a purchase is secure and simple. Once the order has been made it automatically sends a email with confirmation of your order in order for you to check that it is correct.
Within a couple of days the border is delivered and always packaged well and very unlikly to be damaged.
I think that Play.com is is great value for money and ...
