Accept nothing but the BEST from Plextor
Review of Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32 by trungn

Advantages: Specification/features, Quality, Performance, Best DAE.
Disadvantages: SCSI interface still more expensive than IDE.

...known to be high-end performers. The Plextor 12/10/32S has been out for a while now (since 2000) and at the time of writing this opinion, this model is the latest offering using the SCSI interface. They also have an identical IDE (Atapi) model, PX-W1210A and the lastest offering using this interface is the Plextor 24/10/40S. The market is really hotting up at the moment with the likes of Ricoh MP9200A (20/10/40, DVD 12xRead), Sanyo CRD-BP1500P ... Read review

Burn baby, burn
Review of Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32 by MikeWhalley

Advantages: Fast, reliable and good software
Disadvantages: Expensive?

...suggested we looked at the Plextor 12/10/32 burn-proof cdwriter. As we couldn't really rely on just his word before forking out on a load of them, we asked the sales people of one of our departments - and they agreed. The Plextor is the most reliable drive they've ever seen. So we went ahead and order a bucket load of them - still a little unsure, but pretty confident we'd made the correct choice. When we got them, they arrived in the retail ... Read review

No more wasted CDs
Review of Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32 by heneghan

Advantages: Fast, reliable, good build quality, burn-proof technology
Disadvantages: Relatively expensive

...WinOnCD, Packet CD & BackMeUp - Plextor utility software (Plextools) - Instruction manual - Audio cable, mounting screws, E-IDE cable - 1 blank CD-R & i blank CD-R/W As the name implies, the Plexwriter writes at 12 speed, re-writes at 10 speed and reads at 32 speed. This means you can write to a 650MB CD in about 5 minutes, or re-write in about 7 minutes. That's fast, believe me! The Plexwriter includes a 2MB data buffer with "burn-proof" ... Read review

Excellent Drive
Review of Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32 by sww2k

Advantages: BurnProof, Fast, Reliable,
Disadvantages: Plextor drives are sometimes expensive

...recommended by other users of Plextor drives i decided to get this one which cost £180 with an extra 10 74 Min Samsung CDRs, as some of you will know Plextor are known for making some of the best drives available (but some may also know about an issue with SafeDisc 2 which could change that). Anyway I bought this drive because I have been told that it was an excellent drive, it was BURN Proof (Buffer Under Run Proof) meaning the end of Buffer UnderRuns ... Read review

Best Experience of CD-R to date.
Review of Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32 by shearerm

Advantages: Super fast, Burn proof, attractive design.
Disadvantages: Requires Scsi card.

...this cdwriter! Installation was easy. The plextor 12/10/32S I have is an external SCSI drives so it plugs into the external port on the SCSI card, which was already installed. Start the pc, and it magically appears in windows. Dead easy. It was also necessary to install some cd writing software. In this case, the cd writer came bundled with the usual offerings, which installed and ran perfectly. One minor problem encountered was the SCSI cable ... Read review

Burn Proof
Review of Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32 by andycfc67c

Advantages: Very Fast and Reliable
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest

I bought the new Plextor 12/10/32A to see if the new Burn Proof technology was as good as it is cracked up to be . The drive comes with built in technology which is supposed to eliminate the problem of buffer underruns . To put buffer underruns in laymans terms this is when the cd writer is not receiving data fast enough from the processor and this causes an error resulting in you being left with a coaster . This can happen a lot if you are using ... Read review

It is good, but there is better
Review of Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32 by Kinny

Advantages: Plextor is good at eveything
Disadvantages: Too expensive

...the same specs as this Plextor 12x10x32 and burn-proof technology, with the Plextor only just beating it on performance, and i mean only just. If you compared the two drives yourself, would you really notice the difference between these two drives performance wise. I wouldn't. The best thing is that you can get this drive for about £175 inc VAT, which is cheaper than the Plextor, it's a BARGAIN!!! I wouldn't pay an extra £15 for virtually nothing, ... Read review

Review of Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32 by paulbowes2k1

Advantages: Burn-Proof, Speed and reliability
Disadvantages: Warranty, Nothing else.

...buy a writer don't rule Plextor out". Very easy 2 install "Out of the box and writing my first disc with-in 20 Mins" The writer speed is now only average but still fast (12speed ("U can buy 24 speed writers now" (24 speed MONEY??))). Warranty is a drawback as it is on-site if anything goes wrong it has 2 go back 2 Plextor Not 2 the shop!! I've had mine now 7 months "And I tell U this is a Work-Horse". The Plextor comes with WinOnCD which is ... Read review

at last a burn proof fast drive
Review of Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32 by JamieMckeen

Advantages: very quick
Disadvantages: bit expensive

its about time that we had a very quick drive on the market that was actually reliable, and it looks like ive finally found it. its all very well owning the quickest drive on the market, but whats the point if 2 or 3 in every 10 cds are lost to a buffer under-run? this drive incorporates burn-proof technology, which means that u wont keep loosing all those cd's. all in all, it eans that this drive is one of the quickest on the market, and at the same ...
