Review on Pokemon red Gameboy colour
I first play Pokemon on the Gameboy back in 1999, this game became a big success as soon as it hit the shops, and this was bought by mainly kids or for kids all around the country. There now have been many Pokemon films out and a cartoon that is shown on sky one every morning as well as trading cards and many other toys. When Pokemon red came out A Blue version of the game also came out, called Pokemon blue, ... ...you could get different Pokemon in.
The story
***********
This game starts in Pallet town, this is where you get introduce to your character in the television program his name is Ash Ketchum but in this game you name him whatever you please. You get introduce to professor Oak A Pokemon expert. Then he gives a choice of 3 Pokemon you chose one, and then your journey begins to become a Pokemon master.
What are Pokemon?

...out burst? Why under the pokemon section? I don't know. I just did so BLEAH!
Yes I know that it is my first opinion since the NNM accolade and, as usual, straight after pride comes a fall. Inmy case the pride was the NNM the fall was the writers cramp. This better be a good review... I have heard rumours that pokemon started on the greatest console ever, the SNES. From this it moved to a Japanese tv show. From that it moved to a program on Sky One. ... ...came out of his was Pokemon cards though.
Okay so I know that the Pokemon phenomenom is dead and buried but the games live on! Especialy Pokemon Red/Blue. These two games were revolutionary for the game boy. The sheer depth of the game and its (most of the time) good graphics brought new life to a hand-held that was well past its sell by date. Basically Pokemon stands for Pocket monsters for all of you not in the know. These pokemon are like animals ...

...has seen it! Pokemon Blue and Red were the source of this evil! From these 2 games sprung a multi-million Yen (or what ever the currency is in Japan) Company. The game, no matter how annoying, how irritating or how damn right disturbing it might seem...is actually pretty good. The game follows the same story as the cartoon; well actually it is the cartoon that follows the same story as the game. ...when I heard about the pokemon phase that was sweeping across Japan and American, I thought that it would not catch on over here. Everyone, no matter of age had seen or played the game or the programme.
I thought to myself NO I will not get caught up in such a stupid phase. And obviously I did! I could not get enough of the programme, even at my age! And then I saw my chance to get the game. I found a very reasonable price for a Gameboy Colour and ... ...one of three pokemon, which pokemon you chose determines the level of difficulty at the start of the game. But as you get further involved and your pokemon gets stronger it doesn’t really matter.
There are really 2 main aims of this game:
First, travel round the world and defeat the pokemon gym leaders there, and collect the badge to prove you have defeated them. Then go on to the pokemon league and defeat the Elite four, they are the best ...

...some fun. I couldnt get pokemon yellow at the time as it was too expensive =[ So i settled for this. At the time of purchase I payed Ł14.99 from Blockbuster (Its still there today :O!) which was relatively cheap untill pokemon silver and gold came out. I was sitting in the car going home and I switched it on for the first time. It amazed me...I could finally catch, Train and love my very own virtual pokemon. I started out with Charmander (Which isn't ... ...it wasnt called Kanto untill pokemon silver and gold came out) and you have a choice of 3 pokemon, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. Fire, Grass, and Water types respectively. You can then battle, train, catch and trade your pokemon (Trading is done with the old fashioned link cable - a problem with these is that many of them broke) and carry on with your merry adventure! Ill now explain some features of the game in more detail. To be honest the ...

...and catching little animals called pokemon and training them to fight for you, what a game! How do they come up with this stuff, it great! This is the game that everyone has, if you dont have it you either hate pokemon or you dont have a gameboy, so go and get a gameboy, because this game is well worth having, i loved challanging my friends to pokemon battles(via the link cable)to see how my squad had improved, and even after i had completed it I ...

...placed within the gameboy, was Pokemon silver series. Wow.
This game is so completely addicting, especially considering I have been very anti-pokemon for sometime now. The object of the game is to well, 'catch `em all'. You win money when you battle other trainers, and you have to beat all the gym leaders to get all the badges....and eventually beat the game by catching every type of pokemon there is.. Maybe I'm just a sucker for a good adventure ...

...know that there is a pokemon red and blue which are apparently the same, pokemon red is anyways good and is worth the money. Even though pokemon may be "out of fashion" now it is still fun to play and is REALLY ADDICTIVE which ofcourse is a good thing. I like the fact that the little ash can battle other little pokemon masters. The gyms are the best because it seems thrilling and when you win its like a relief and feel proud of yourself. Then when ... ...stray pokemon and then when one comes up, its like "grr go away" and then you fight them still cos you cant be bothered to "run". The best feeling is when you complete the game, but after this point you feel as there is not point to play the game again. But then again there is more than one pokemon game. That is bad though how you dont want to play it again once completed. However you can lend it to friends, and because you have completed it then ...

The grapics isnt too good, but when you got great gameplay and nearly everything is interactive the graphics doesnt ave to be excellent. I have enjoyed hours of gameplay on this and completed it about 6 times never with the same pokemon, got 151 to chose from making there so many paths ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: They are a rip-off
Yo-yos, football stickers, beanie babies, Pokémon cards - what other products can the world of merchandise come up with to rip us off? It's ridiculous. But the new Pokémon cards are doing more damage than just riping children off; they are causing disruption and bullying in schools. I can't suggest anything other than what is already being done in most schools (ie banning the cards)to stop this craze. You could say that we should ban them all together. ...

Pokemon red is I think the better of the 2 pokemon games out there. It is a very addictive game that nintendo has relased that is sweeping the nation! I don't exactly like pokemon as a whole and i certainly don't watch it on tv but still i liked this game. The aim which is pretty obvious, is to collect loads of pokemon and get all of your badges which you get when you fight trainers.
