    I purchased this after seeing a demonstration and I have not been disappointed. There isn't a week go by when it is not in use. I defrost my freezers, clean out my fridge and microwave with it and it is simply the best cooker and over cleaner. I clean cupboard doors, worktops, tiles, floors, carpets - everything even the windows and I use it on jackets and suits. Great bathroom and loo cleaner too.     This machine is a whiz and ideal for anyone who wants to 'do their bit for the environment' and throw away all those chemicals and just use plain old tap water for cleaning. I was pretty lucky getting my machine - I shopped around in the UK and then saw one whilst on holiday in Spain for almost half the UK price. The steamer comes with all manner of attachments (again it depends where you buy it)- mine came with a free Iron (more on that later).     Advantages Advantages The sense of absolute cleanliness after using the Polti is unmatched with any other product.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages It is quite a bulky item, like a vacuum cleaner, so needs its own storage space.

    I bought this product a few years ago and can only say that if you don't much like housework but like a clean house then this is the product for you. The high temperature steam, delivered through brushes (protected by towel "baggies") means that dirt is immediately lifted off surfaces - floors, countertops etc) and the baggies themselves are washable as towels so completely re-usable. Small brush-heads mean you can lift hard deposits in ovens quite easily, and if defrosting is still a necessity then the speed with which this is achieved is just marvellous.     Overall, an efficient and powerful steam cleaner, with excellent safety features and tools for every job. WHY I BOUGHT IT: After struggling with a heavy, cumbersome wet carpet cleaner, I still wasn't happy with the results. This particular model is top of the renowned Polti steam cleaner range and it promised to give a deep-clean performance on all carpets, soft furnishings, kitchen and bathroom surfaces etc etc. I was also attracted to the idea of deep cleaning without needing to use harsh cleaning products.     Not as good as described for steam cleaning although did a fair job, with the addition of much elbow grease. The iron is superb but after only 3 months the covering is peeling off the cord causing burns to the hands when ironing. Having had this appliance for 9 months the iron is locked in place in the steam cleaner and cannot be removed. Polti service want £99 to pick up repair and return, this product is still under guarantee but because I cannot find receipt they want to charge me.     I purchased this with my wife mainley for the advantages of cleaning carpets and upolstery.my childern suffer from asthma and it was recomended for the killing of bed bugs and all sorts of nastys in you fabric/bedding/carpets. having used it regularly to steam matresses it is a very good deep down cleaner .no more yellowing grout in bathroom tiles .cleans windows quickly and streak free. i recently took a red wine spill out of a cream carpet with it. over all it is a good machine that once you start to clean with it you cant stop. the main disadvantage is the time it takes for a refil (having ... more
