Getting wet in the summer

Advantages: great for keeping cool
Disadvantages: watching those kids and getting wet

Water play pool Summer fun. NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN UNATTENDED WHILE PLAYING IN A POOL Well I expect a lot of readers will also have been playing in the garden with their paddling pools this weekend great fun on a hot summers day. Water is one of the things that seem to attract children whether it be splashing in puddles or playing in the pool in the garden. “ Splishy splashy” are the words Adrian has recently learnt from his grandfather ...
...taking a stick and splishy splashing in our garden pond I have bought a plastic shell shaped sand and water pit from Argos this is two pools that nest inside each other cost 11 in sale now 15 out of sale. I only just wrote about these pools and the sand play we filled it with water for water play too. There are many water pools about and I have used many different ones I will tell you of a few and the benefits of water play. The ElC have one of ...

Here comes the Sun....

Advantages: A summer of fun
Disadvantages: Keeping children safe.

Its 10 o clock at night, the stars are out and big brother is the last thing on our mind, summer has arrived and we have invested in an oversized paddling pool. Both our children have birthdays within two weeks of Christmas, so because of this they have token presents on their birthday and we treat them in the Summer, as otherwise they don’t get Summer toys. This year we have bought a 12ft round 30” high pool, with filter, heater, solar cover, net, ...
...for £300 and the steps extra at £50. You can get the pool separately with steps, but no heater or solar cover for £225 from Argos, ebay also had some good deals on the stand alone pools if you were quick. It arrived in 7 large boxes – the poor delivery man was exhausted when he brought them all round the back for us. In a fit of excitement we tore open the first box, lay down a piece of tarpaulin that we had bought to put under it (£10 from a camping ...

Summer Time Fun

Advantages: great fun for all the family
Disadvantages: takes time to inflate and put away

Every summer without fail there is someone who is getting all the sun. Some of us have a glimpse of what summer should be and when we do what else is there but to go digging through your shed or garage and find that paddling pool. Hands up those who packed it away properly so you could just get it out and blow it up!!! Well in our house, first you have to guess where you last saw it, and then battle your way through all the stuff that has accumulated ...
...of retrieving it, there is a sigh of relief when you see that the pump to blow it up with is near by. We then find a place in our garden that is relatively flat and remove all objects that seem to have mysteriously appeared since this morning. Once it has been laid out, pump is attached and the pool starts to take shape. Pretty easy stuff considering it will probably only be there for a day or two. Like most people we have gone through the stages ...

Inflatable Fun Pool

Advantages: Great big pool for a party or BBQ, good value for price
Disadvantages: Takes a long time to prepare and then put away

When we bought our new house one of the specifications was a large garden and a large garden was what we got. We decided that now we had a large garden we needed a large Paddling pool to go in it on sunny days. Of course most people would get one which was easy to blow up and take down and wouldn't be a hassle to empty. Well not us. We spotted this massive red and yellow one which came with a palm tree that sprayed water if you have the right connections, ...
...with balls. There was also a small square part which could just be sat in. It was a bargain at £14.99. This pool is roughly 6ft by 4ft, and took up a large part of the garden. Being the rectangle shape, it fitted in ok, but was much bigger than I had imagined. It has the slide at one side. It faces the palm tree, so on a hot day it would be excellent to have the palm tree spraying water as the child goes down the slide. Well that's if you get the ...

SPLASHTASTIC FUN

Advantages: robust, bright design, cheap at the moment, huge potential for fun
Disadvantages: takes ages to empty

Whilst baking in the sun yesterday afternoon, listening to the gentle fall of the waterfall in the pond, I had the sudden urge to dip my feet in and have a splash about. Not only would the fish have resented this, I don’t think it would have set too good an example to James, my three year old. Not to be deterred out came the Argos book and we ruffled through the pages to find the padding pools. We didn’t want anything too big – last year we bough ...
...for about a week – but it took so long to empty and fill the water soon took on that ‘green’ hue that is NOT desirable. We settled on the ‘boat pool’ a rather fun looking paddling pool in the shape – funnily enough as a boat and priced at £24.99. I reserved the paddling pool online at www.argos.co.uk and was delighted to see that it was in the half price sale at £12.49 so we set off quick smart to fetch it. The pool comes in a small box with a ...

The BIGGEST FATTEST pool ever

Advantages: Its so relaxing and keeps everyone happy
Disadvantages: No foot pump, takes ages to fill

It was just far too hot one day last summer as the family and I wandered about the hot and dusty streets of Grantham. Desperate to get home and remove all clothing, but remaining decent i was quickly losing my temper as the crowds of people slowly blocked every way for me to move down the street....it was hell.... But then... I was somehow forced through the massive automatic door of Woolworths and swept along with a flock of teenage girls toward ...
...I supposed it was a good idea to have a quick look at the toys, after all , I did have both kids with me and wouldn't get a moments peace otherwise....and there it was....standing out from the shelf right in front of me.......I could see it now.... A HUGE GREAT BIG PADDLING POOL This was so obviousley the answer and definatley worth every penny I was about to spend on it. For a few pence less than £40 I had just purchased the best summer purchase ...

EASY-UP 10ft POOL

Advantages: Hours of fun and quick way to cool off
Disadvantages: takes hours to fill

I bought this pool as my kids were forever having their friends round in the summer and believe me when there are about ten kids in your garden you need a big pool. This pool is great for all the family it is not just a kids pool and as it is such a large pool you can get in with the kids and learn them to float and swim without the expence of the swimming baths. The 10ft pool comes with video that tells you what to do and how to fill it.the reason ...
...need to inflate is the ring at the top of the pool the rest of it rises as the water fills it up so you dont need to get tired inflating it for an hour like with most pools. The pool is 10ft in size although they do come in three sizes there is an 8ft and a 12 ft pool also the ten foot pool comes complete with lid for the pool so you can leave the water in and just cover it up when not using it it also comes with an electric water filter so that ...

MY BIG 10FT SWIMMING POOL

Disadvantages: The garden has to be dead level. WARNING NOT FOR UNDER 6 YRS OF AGE

First i will tell you the technical stuff. 10ft x 30in/300 x 76cm. Includes pool, cover, instructions and filter pump. Drainage plug connects to hosepipe. Size: depth 76, diameter 300cm. Water capacity 4296 (805) litres. -Laying of the pool- I have to say i had a big job to get it layed. first you have to blow up the ring around the pool (pump recommended) You have to make sure it is completly flat and not wrinkled. You must fill it a little so ...
...about 4 hrs to fill so do it in the morning and by the time the kids come back from school its filled for them. You can buy chlorine for it ,which is recommended. WARNING You must have a flat surface not like me and put it on unlevel grass. Make sure you put some sort of underlay on the ground because water and dirt dont mix and also sharp object like stones and roots dont rupture the pool. THE RESULTS Right i would like to add something as ...

Lives up to it's name

Advantages: offers more than a normal paddling pool
Disadvantages: -

The inflatable playground paddling pool definitely lives up to it's name of being a playground. After roughly 30 minutes of pumping it up with a foot pump or next to no time with an electric pump fill her up and let the fun begin. It is square in shape with a separate area in one corner with raised sides, 2 palm trees to which you can attach the hose for a sprinkler effect, a basket ball hoop with balls included and in another corner a mini inflatable ...
...and it's a must for adult supervision although it is not deep being more of a playground area but from personal experience the kids get so excited and tend to run in and out and around it on the grass and are liable to slip over. It is available from Argos priced at £29.99 and is a bargain for the summer holidays (if the sun ever comes out), although I have seen it for sale in Lidl, Harlow originally priced the same but then massively reduced to ...

Splashing good fun!

Advantages: Watching the kids having fun, inexpensive
Disadvantages: Blowing it up!

As we've had something of a mini heatwave recently, I bet many of you have digged out your kiddies paddling pools. And hands up who have cooled their feet down in the freezing water, I know I have! As you know, paddling pools come in a huge array of different sizes, shapes, colours and styles. The amount that they cost varies immensely, depending on whether you buy a huge swimming pool type, costing hundreds of pounds, or a little one for the kids ...
...I bought my son a paddling pool in his first summer, when he was crawling. I used to sit him in the water and gently splash him. He is such a water baby, he has always loved his baths and he loved his little pool too. And a little pool it is too. I can't remember the exact dimensions, I think it is only about 100cm wide, and 3 rings high. Bearing in mind I spent only £1.50 on this purple little circle of inflatable fun, I was not expecting it to ...
