...I started to investigate the Porsche a bit more.
Porsche had only had the car out a year, so there very few on the road, there was no friends that I could ask about this particular one, so the onus was on me. I went down to the Porsche garages locally and wanted the same kind of cash, but the spec was way off mark. I remember sitting in this Boxster, with the salesman asking how it felt, I remember answering; I don’t know I haven’t got past the ... ...it and had to call Porsche out to get into it which meant waiting until the following week. Fingers itching off I trot down there after reading a view articles form the magazines and reading the spec of the web site of Porsche. The specs I was quite happy with. I met the sales guy, he was a sweet guy couldn’t have been no more than 21, said that he wasn’t allowed to drive it, we then took it out for a spin around Harlesden, had the roof down, absolutely ...

Advantages: Numerous Disadvantages: Some noise; 1 month after purchase developed white growth on hood interior (mold?); servicing is steep (well, what do you expect of a Porsche?)

Tracker or not?
My insurance company did not specify that I obtain a tracker, AFN said it would not be necessary and I can see why. When I broke my ankle earlier this year and was unable to drive my Boxster not only sent itself to sleep but when those nice breakdown people (swearing their heads off)managed to get it started it took a very long time to do so. In order to get ... ...pointed this out to the Porsche dealer who suggested buying a 911 instead!!!!??? Now that's serious money!
Regrets:
*I was advised to take the air-con as an extra - I wish I had - it can get stuffy under that hood and with the (so far few) days of scorching windless heat it would be nice to get some freshish air circulating
*should have got a better stereo - 2 speakers as standard are not enough (actually I'm surprised that Porsche don't insist ...

Advantages: Motoring perfection. Flawless. Disadvantages: Hmmm...dodgy looking people staring at you at traffic lights.
The Porsche Boxster is quite simply (in my opinion) the finest roadster available on the roads today. For those who don't know, it is a 2 door, 2 seater mid-engined convertible produced by Porsche and built in Germany (and Finland alongside the top-of-the-range Saab Viggens). Priced at c. £31,000 for the 'base' 2.7 model it is significantly less expensive (can you use the word cheap to describe a Porsche?) than the c. £60,000+ 911 but has so many ... ...perfect. The first time the Porsche options list was presented to me having just ordered my 2.7, I nearly collapsed. It's quite easy to add over £10,000 of extras onto the car although adding an extra £4000 should cover most 'necessities'. In the end I bumped the price of my Boxster up to about £ 35,000 specifying 18" alloys (with 225 section tyres front and 265 sections rear- Pirelli or Conitinental tyres are guaranteed), the hi-fi speaker upgrade ...

...for eight years now, and Porsche has just brought out an updated model - 80% new, apparently, but you'd never know it from the outside. Many Porsche purists regard it as the poor man's Porsche, and in many respects, it is. With a price tag of around £30k new, and as one of the ultimate bargain roadsters second-hand (good quality, late-90s models can be bought for less than £18k), it hardly stacks up against any of the 911s in terms of price. The ... ...is it's real selling point. Porsche developed a perfectly weighted, rigid chassis with the most direct steering you'll come across. You can feel the car through your hands, through your bum, through your legs, every part of your body feels like it's at one with the car to the point that sliding the tail out round a hairpin bend becomes more fun than scary. I recently bought a Porsche Boxster S 3.2. It's red with black interior, ABS, Traction Control, Trip Computer, Surround sound system and the usual Boxster bits.
I paid about £12K for this model, X reg, 84000 miles. Then the problems started:
1. Airbag light was on...needed new ECU costing £350 (dealer paid)
2. 2x new rear tyres...Michelin £200 each (dealer paid)
3. Emission Control light came on. Reset by Porsche £50...two days later, came on ... ...(dealer paid)
6. Front and rear CV gaiters needed replacing (dealer paid) 7. Front tyres needed replacing...£260
Having had all this work done, the car is brilliant. Very fast, 6 speed gearbox for shorter gear ratios. 152+ mph and 280bhp. Handles exceptionally well. 25 - 30 mpg; but driving like an old person got 35mpg.
Other needs:
1. Front brake hose needs replacing
Insurance cost £820 fully comp, tax is about £200 per annum, £70 to fill the ...

I used to own a Porsche and i have to say they are truly great cars, the boxster is a perfect sports cars for a single guy, and 911's and cayennes are gret for families. The tiptronic feature wich was introduced to the boxster is another great advantage. It has brillaint acceleration going from 0-62 in around 5 seconds! The interior just speaks for itself, just pure design. If you ever get the chance to get a Porsche make sure you can get the porsche ...

...SAY THAT TO GET A 6 YEAR OLD, MID-ENGINED 'PROPER' SPORTS CAR FOR UNDER £16,000 WITH A PORSCHE BADGE ON THE FRONT, IS AN ABSOLUTE BARGAIN AND THE FUN YOU WILL HAVE IN IT WILL BE WORTH 3-4 TIMES THAT.
INSURANCE IS REASONABLE TOO.

...always wanted to own a Porsche and finally, after saving for a long time I have managed to own the Boxter, and it feels good!!
Some of the specifications of this great car are:

The Porche's hood is electric, and the storage space is not too bad either, it has got front and rear storage compartments. The brakes feel very good, the engine is not extremely loud and it feels very ... ...6.4 seconds. Driving this car feels very comfortable, it deals with the bumps and turns into corners extremely well.
On of the disadvantages of this car is that the interior feels a bit too cramped and if you want to add air-conditioning and the leather seats, the overall price shoots up fairly quickly. ...
