Power House (Shop)

I have just visited Power House for the third time and was keen to get home and write up an op about the service I received as soon as possible. I decided first though to read the two ops that had already been written about it, I am glad I did. Both Diane22025 and Toria appear to have had bad service from this store, I have had the exact opposite. We first visited the store in 1998 when we purchased a cooker, tumble drier and chest freezer. I recently bought a Dishwasher from Power House. What a mistake .. Here in Essex (I am unsure if they have stores Nationwide) we have several very large stores that offer competitive prices for electrical goods. The stores are large bright and generally well laid out. Products are easily located and quickly purchased. They sell everything from washing machines to kettles. They also have a very comprehensive web page that can be found at WWW.Powerhouse-retail.co.uk. It is possible to buy product online. Ok, this is third time I have wrriten this opinion, the last times I lost it just as I was finishing it! So, third time lucky! I wish, oh, how I wish that I had read Ciao before it visited PowerHouse. It all began simply enough. I need a new vaccum cleaner and so decided to visit my local PowerHouse shop in Enfield. In the shop I managed to find a Panasonic vacuum cleanr that I liked (that is despite the fact the PowerHouse appeared to have cornered the market on Dyson cleaners, and I hate Dyson cleaners but that is another opinion!). I bought this item on the 4 November 2004 at about 14:35 hrs. We had bought a lot of things that day and unusually for me I lost the receipt. On connecting this product I found that the picture was totally unacceptable, and I realized that I had bought a 'Lemon'. When I tried to return the item (I only wanted to exchange it for the same product) the lady on the counter asked for my receipt. I told her I had lost it, so she went to see the manager. On learning that Sony had introduced a 50" LCD Rear projection TV, I went along to the local Powerhouse, got told that they could get it in stock quickly, so signed the credit agreement. I was told to expect delivery within 2 weeks of the agreement date, only for this to slip back. I was also told mistruths by some members of the shop staff, regarding the reason for delay. I then wrote to the company giving them a date of delivery making "Time of the essence". I took a day off work and waited in for the goods, only for them not to turn up.
