Advantages: source information Disadvantages: brief explanations some times
Found this book very useful for my Journalism and Society topic. Lecturer did recommend buying it, and rightly so. Covers substansial background information, not just for journalists, it covers television, radio, online. Covers press, broadcasting and new media in Britian. The delievery too, was quick and straight forward, I recieved this book within 4 days from amazon. Very impressed.
The book is up-to-date with new media and is very accessible. ... ...into clear precise tables, which are nicely layed out.
Throughout the chapters, the book clearly highlights useful studies and critical reviews which were needed for my assignment. The book briefly explains the study or piece of research, and simply which is good. If I found myself needing to use a particular study I would research more thoroughly, but found it useful as the book became the catalyst for many of my pieces of research.
