There are different pregnancy tests to use but the one that I bought was the Predictor pregnancy test. There was no particular reason apart from the fact this is the only one in the supermarket that they had. It comes in a white and pink box and the test is a foil wrapper so you know that it has not be tampered with in any way. The box gives you details of how to use the test and there is also instructions inside the box too. The test is white and plastic and is in 2 parts. One is the stick with a pink end which you wee on and the other part is where you put the stick with the windows to see ... more

Peeing on a stick! Not the most elegant thing in the world but something that is necessary if you want to find out whether or not sex has resulted in something other than a damp patch! Yes, we’re talking pregnancy tests here. A few weeks ago I was in the situation of needing to do a pregnancy test again so trotted off to Boots to buy a testing kit. My partner John and I have a three year old son who wasn't planned. When we deiced to try and extend our family this time round we decided to everything the right way round. Take folic acid for three months prior to starting etc... Anyway seven months down the line and every month when my period was later by a day I shelled out a fortune on pregnanacy tests only to be disapointed and to get my period an hour later. Sitting in the bathroom with the little box next to me I felt anxious for the first time since I knew there was a possibility of me being with child. The medication I had been taking had interfered with the pill and made it less effective. After much deliberation I finally decided to pick up a pregnancy test whilst in the local supermarket. Scanning the shelves in the toiletry isle I noticed only a limited selection of pregnancy tests. After being over five days late for my period I decided I should take a pregnancy test. Off I went to my local supermarket and begn to scour the aisle I didnt want to buy one which was really expensive as I didn't want to waste my money and I had read that all tests are exactly the same and it is only the brand name you are paying for. Finally I noticed Predictor pregnancy test which contained two tests I thought that this was a good idea as it meant I could take one the one day and then another the following morning just to check whatever result I got was 100% right. A late period means one thing in my house, time to buy a pregnancy test. So, browsing round the chemist, the pretty pink box of the Predictor caught my eye. Noting the price, I popped it in my basket and went to pay. On arrival home, I waved it at my husband who looked horified. And who could blame him? 'Predictor' isn't exactly an enticing name. Its actually quite scarey, like film titles such as 'Terminator' or 'Predator' . No thoughts of soft skin and baby talc when you read this box. When gazing in bewilderment at the mass of choice of pregnancy tests I finally opted for Predictor. The reasons were several, the box states its as accurate as a doctors test, one simple test (thought it best to keep to as simple as possible with the vital outcome of info that the test would behold), fast (very important) and any time of day (well I wanted to know as soon as I bought the test not wait until morning pee time). This product is easy to use, not messy and the results claim to be clear and 99% accurate from the day your period is due. i had ALREADY had a +ve on a cheapy internet brand that i bought from ebay, it was an Acon On-Call dip test and very clearly a positive. The test was done 3 days before my period was due but i wanted confuirmation from a more reliable source and internet brands are notorious for giving flase positives. The first time i purchased this pregnancy test was from Superdrugs on a day where i needed to know the truth. i was soo stressed out and i walked in to Superdrug and wen to find a kit. I had no idea what i was looking for or how much they would be. The predictor caught my eye because it was on a special offer for £3.99 and it said that the results would be accurate and very fast. as i opened it all up the instructions were very clear as there was a step by step. When i thought i was pregnant in May 2004, I was too worried to go to the doctors, and as i was only young, i was too scared to tell my parents. I went to a local store, where i saw the predictor. There wwere other tests available, but at higher cost. Even though i hadnt heard of the predictor before, i tried this because it was reasonably priced.
