Advantages Advantages Lots of personal advice, competitions, freebies.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A lot of articles are repeated over the years.

When I first found out that I was pregnant, to say I was surprised was a bit of an understatement. I began to stock up on all sorts of baby books and magazines to try and prepare myself for the big arrival. I purchased three or four books and found that not only did they cost a lot but they didn’t give me advice in a friendly way, and tended to read more like a text book. It was like being lectured at, and I found it disconcerting to say the least. Baby magazines however were available to buy at a much more reasonable price and are bright, have lots of gorgeous pictures, and are filled with up ... more

5 Stars Prima Baby: Everything for the mum in you Review with images 07/06/2007

Advantages Advantages Informative, competitions, freebies, brill!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Monthly!

I bought this magazine after I finished reading my copy of Mother and Baby, and I needed something else to read. This particular cover grabbed my attention as it was the first one I had seen which featured a Celeb mum on the cover. This particular cover star is Jordan aka Katie Price, who is heavily pregnant on the cover. So here goes my review. Prima Baby & Pregnancy is bought to you by the same people who produce the women's monthly magazine Prima. However, this magazine covers everything about pregnancy, birth and babies/toddlers you could need to know. The magazine currently costs £2.40 ... more

Advantages Advantages Great and interesting magazine

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Lots of adverts

Finding out that I was expecting again was a big shock for me. I am already the mother to 3 girls and in a few weeks I will be the 40. Anyone would think that I would know exactly what to do and how to do it but I don't think you ever get used to it and every pregnancy is different. My latest bundle of joy is due in October and will be born but caesarean. Like all expectant mothers I rushed out and bought baby magazines. I was surprised by the lack of choice but did find a monthly magazine that is very helpful and full of tips. The magazine is called Prima Baby and Pregnancy; it is just over ... more

Advantages Advantages Great all round site for parents of all ages!

Disadvantages Disadvantages i spend too much time surfing on the site :)

I went on maternity early in my second pregnancy and found myself a little bored after a while. The house could only be so clean, my older child was in school, and all my friends were at work. After reading some pregnancy & baby magazines I began surfing the net to keep myself busy and see the recommended sites. I came across a really good bunch of competitions on Babyexpert.com and thought why not give it a go. To enter them I had to become a member of the site. Thankfully it wasn't a long logging in process. It seemed as if there were new competitions every week or two so I kept popping in ... more

Advantages Advantages informative articles and something for everyone

    Disadvantages Disadvantages price

Having 2 children, I have read many parenting magazines over the past few years. Much of the time, they are fairly similar, however I found Prima Baby to be just a bit different to the others. It has many of the features that all parenting magazines have - Ask The Expert, letters pages, cookery section, penfriend section - but I found the articles to be slightly better than others. To me, they seemed to be written in a better style, they do not 'talk down' to you as some do and they they treat you like an adult, not a jibbering emotional wreck that some other magazines seem to assume you turn ... more

    Advantages Advantages Full of information

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only comes out monthly

I started buying baby magazines towards the end of my pregnancy as I was getting increasingly worried about the birth and was too embarrassed to ask my midwife all the little birth worries I had, i.e. internal examinations and the worry that I might need to go to the toilet a cruicial moment. I spotted prima baby because the headline was something like ‘All your birth worries laid to rest – yes even that one!’ I had to buy it. I waddled home and put my feet up to read the article but ending up reading the whole magazine and spending an hour filling in competion forms and cutting out coupons ... more

    Advantages Advantages Doesn't patronise

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I first bought this magazine shortly after finding out I was pregnant. I bought pretty much every magazine available, but this soon turned out to be firm favourite. I have since cashed in some of my Tesco clubcard points for a subscription to this magazine, since it's not only for mums-to-be, but mums of babies & toddlers too. The magazine is bright, simply laid out & easy to read. There's a very down to earth feel about the magazine which I like - you don't feel as though you should be some sort of 'yummy mummy' celebrity mum to read it! The magazine features sections on pregnancy & birth ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to read articles and product reviews.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only 11 issues a year.

I am a stay at home mum to 8 1/2 month old girl, and my mum got me a subscription to Prima Baby when she found out I was expecting. Prima Baby is published monthly and contains articles and information to guide you through pregnancy, the birth and parenting until your child is about 2. Each issue deals with different subjects, and they always include real life stories. I find these really helpful as you can often see how other couples, and families, cope in different situations. It's full of helpful advice, for example they recently ran a series on pain relief for labour. Your choices were ... more

During my pregnancy I read several Pregnancy Magazines (usually lured by the free product inevitable attached) I found the Prima Baby Magazine one of the best. It was very informative and full of plenty of real life stories. I particularly liked the pregnancy calendar that they produced which not only gave acurate information about each week of pregnancy and what was happening to the baby (and to my body) but it also included legal rights concerning working and when you can finish. There was plenty of prizes to be won from Baby Gyms to prams and Car Seats (not that i ever did) ... more
