We put this kettle on our wedding list last year and were looking forward to receiving it as our old kettle was a relic from my student days. However, I wish we had kept it! The kettle was listed at John Lewis for around £40, and when it was delivered it looked just as good as it had in the shop, so on that score we were pleased. ...from the spout part to the bottom, to the extent that we can't even aim it into a pan (never mind a tea mug) without getting boiling water all over the work surface. ...one, I came across the Prima Pgk200,look great and sadly that was it,I bought it through Amazon for £29.99,no delivery charge so a good bargain yeah? no!!!! It looks good,it lights up when boiling,has see through glass,so you can see water boiling,has a good capacity 1.5 litre,all good but sadly thats the good points now for the bad. It takes ages to boil,also seems to overboil,so when it does you really have to switch off,as it takes ages to switch ...

The slightly dangerous part- the outside of the jug gets really hot,so be careful if you accidentlly touch, it burns,also its spout is really small,so water tends to get everywhere,after 6months I also noticed the plastic cord is beginning to melt,so could be dangerous if hot water eventually rots it away.also it seems to be furring already after just 6months,I live in a soft water area.so this is strange ... Disadvantages: Looks shabby very quickly. Switch comes apart if manually turned off.

Bought the kettle because my wife wanted a glass one. Chose it because it looked pretty! This didn't last long as the "chrome" coating very quickly started to come off which made the kettle look dreadful. The other problem is the switch.
