scan i have a go
Review of Primax Colorado Direct 9600 by BadBoy

Advantages: quite quick, comes with a port for printer, quite cheap
Disadvantages: Big, no power button.

I uncovered my scanner the other week while searching under my bed, we used to be best friends and on the lonely boring nights we used to mess around scanning my face (whilst blinding myself on the light). But for some reason I just stopped using it for a bit. A few weeks ago I decided that I needed to get a new picture up on ciao, and at first I was just going to use my dads digital camera but I decided to scan a photograph that my mum had taken ... Reliable, good value and good quality scanner that I'd recommend highly
Review of Primax Colorado Direct 9600 by Lara_King

Advantages: Excellent price, great software, good quality scans, OCR and photocopying facilities.
Disadvantages: None.

...pieces of equipment, but the Primax Colorado Direct was good value even then. It was extremely easy to install and the TaskBridge software it comes with makes scanning photos, scanning text via OCR and making photocopies very easy. The quality of scans is generally good; photos tend to scan slightly dark but brightness adjustments within picture software tend to fix this. As well as the useful TaskBridge software (which starts up when you press the ... Read review

cheap isnt always bad
Review of Primax Colorado Direct 9600 by lucydog

Advantages: cheap, good quality scans
Disadvantages: no USB connection

I purchased the Primax scanner at the same time as I got my Time computer about 2.5 years ago because they were offering it at a knock down price if bought in condunction with the PC, and what a wise buy it was. I didnt really think at the time that I would find much use for it but it has become about as useful as a printer if not more so. The main use I have for the little beauty is scanning pictures for web pages and a good job it makes of them ... Read review

Cheap and reliable
Review of Primax Colorado Direct 9600 by Skilleter

Advantages: Cheap, solid, works well
Disadvantages: None really

I bought the scanner because it was on offer in my local branch of Comet! I've been very happy with it; it is fast, reliable and isn't too noisy. Considering that it is a cheap scanner, it feels solid and well put-together and doesn't make the appaling grating noises that I've heard from other scanners. The scan results are good and the supplied software isn't too bad, although the OCR software is unimpressive. Colour rendition is fairly good, ... Read review

Advantages: Good Value
Disadvantages: ..

The Primax Colorado Direct 9600 is an excellent scanner. After having mine for just under 2 years, I've scanned thousands of Documents, Pictures, Text etc. And it has never once let me down. It has good Colour Recognition, The Image is always Crystal Clear and Full of Colour. Good for scanning Photographs and Images, But one of the really handy things is Scanning text, it has OCR so it can take the text you scanned, and transfer it straight into ... Read review

quality scanning
Review of Primax Colorado Direct 9600 by Beautybox

Advantages: easy to use and cheap
Disadvantages: no power button of USB port

This scanner came free with my pc package so i wasn't expecting much from it but have been pleasantly suprised by its ease of use and set up and the quality of the scan. The only problem i had with it is that the software wasn't compatable with my printer software so a techi friend of mine had to download new software for it so i could keep using my printer. he assures me this is straight forward if you know what you are looking for and probably a ... Warning don't buy this.
Review of Primax Colorado Direct 9600 by kawaljit

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: lots and lots and lots.

...for ever. It is the Primax Colorado Direct 9600. I got it bundled with my Computer, that I realise was my biggest mistake. Anything that seems like a bargain and is bundled with some goodies is probably going to be a con. My first problem was that if I try to scan above its minimum resolution level it freezes and along with that the software also stops responding, making my PC crash. My second problem was that it sometimes doesn't even scan. ... Read review

Something that comes free that's actually GOOD
Review of Primax Colorado Direct 9600 by Kevin_Pritchard

Advantages: Good price, good quality, durable.
Disadvantages: Not THE best in the noise department!

As the title says, my Primax scanner came with my computer as a FREE item at Comet. I thought, oh well, its free, so what if its crap. Anyway, after using a scanner for my first time, i was quite impressed. The image quality was and still is excellent, and is still churning out the same results as of 2-3 years ago. The text recognition is good too, although its probably down o the software that bit. The colour vibrancy is excellent, and the speed ... Read review
