Advantages Advantages IT's prince of persia

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Annoying camera angles

I remember playing the original Prince of Persia (POP) on my old 386 around ten years ago. At the time it was a ground breaking action/adventure game with great cartoon graphics and pretty fair music and sound. The original POP actually inspired most action adventure games you see on the market today. The puzzles were relatively easy and the action was simply, well, simple. The main thing I remember is that it was fun to play. POP was a mindless little adventure for all ages. Flash forward to 1999 and POP 3D. You'll still have a sword/scimitar, assuming you find them, as well as a bow and ... more

    Advantages Advantages Can be fun

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not Challenging enough

I played the first one years ago and loved it but thought that more could have been done with it. I happened to be in a computer store one day and came across a boxed set of Prince with the first two games and the 3D version, needless to say I had to try it. I have not yet tried the second game as I was dying to see the 3D version. At first I was quite impressed as I love this type of game, adventure combined with detection and puzzle solving. The manual states that you should make sure that you test ceilings for looseness and explore as there are things to find but you cannot take things from ... more

Advantages Advantages More royal than corgies

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow response and tricky controls

Way back in time, when PC's were made of wood and bits of glue, the original Prince of Persia pioneered the style of game play which was taken into three dimensions by Tomb Raider. So what? Well it's back to challenge for the modern platform crown. But this time it's in 3D! Unfortunately, the Prince doesn't quite manage to triumph, but the game has much to recommend it over other platform would-be kings. A good start is made by increasing the graphical wow-factor over the familiar exploits of Lara. After the dull first level, everything explodes into a world of imagination and colour. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Pretty, combat is fun

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pace of game is too slow

So, here it is at last - the sequel to the classic Prince of Persia and less classic but still enjoyable Prince of Persia 2. Prince of Persia 3D continues shortly after PoP 2 left off. You, your wife and the Sultan are visiting the evil King Assan (the Sultan's brother) when you are imprisoned. It's up to you to escape and rescue your wife. PoP 3D is a 3D platformer, with the emphasis being on exploring and solving puzzles. The game takes place over several huge and highly detailed levels. You will spend much of your time looking around, jumping and avoiding traps. All of the traps found in ... more

Advantages Advantages It's Prince Of Persia in 3D

Disadvantages Disadvantages Inferior to other platformers

I'm sure most of you have fond memories of the original Prince of Persia, it was one of my favourites. Well Prince Of Persia 3D is pretty much the original in 3D, so why is this a bad thing? Mainly because the gameplay is still in the 80s! Prince Of Persia (The original) works much better as a side-viewed platformer, rather than a poor imitation of Lara Croft's Tomb Raider. There is quite a lot of fun to be had though, but the main problem is wouldn't you prefer to play the more advanced and graphically superior Tomb Raider series? The sound is good and atmospheric, and the graphics are fairly ... more

Yet again another hyped game we had to wait ages for and when it came out you guessed it it was crap the only word for it. The graphics are fine sound ok gameplay questionable. Only 12 levels as well. Some of the collision detection is very suspect if you played the game you will no what I mean I didn`t like the 3d angles it game me a very wierd feeling, the usual things associated with prince of persia, traps guards, puzzles have to be solved. Enough said about this game you can buy it for around 10 quid but you are throwing your money down the drain stay clear of it. ... more
