You might just go quackers for these BBQ Pringles

Advantages: Delicious snack
Disadvantages: "Once you pop, you can't stop" never was a slogan so true!!

== TEXAS SAUCE BARBECUE SAUCE PRINGLES == Since my daughter got married last year and moved sixty miles away, we probably spend more time with her than we had in year!! Anytime they can she and her husband come up to stay, or we go for the weekend there. These ‘get togethers’ usually involve several bottles of wine, bottles of beer and masses of savoury snacks. The snacks vary widely – nuts, crisps, olives, dips, bread sticks etc, but what you ...
...two of Pringles devoured in one of these sessions. Our last snack night involved a tube of a new variety of Pringles - Texas Barbecue Sauce - so they are what this review will be about. So, are you sitting comfortably!!! === JUST WHAT ARE PRINGLES? === I am sure that you are all aware of Pringles, but just in case, here is a little background into them. Pringles is a brand of potato snack, although actually there is less than 50% potato content. ...

~ BBQ DREAM ~

Advantages: Excellent taste, Pleasant smell, Unique
Disadvantages: run out too much

...DREAM ~ Pringles have been around for years and they do not hesitate in bringing out new and great tasting flavours. They are incredible convenient and I found myself buying a few tubes at the weekend for my brother’s birthday party. Deciding on what flavours was really difficult as I love most of them but I thought that I would get a plain, and two flavoured ones. The barbeque sauce flavoured snacks has to be one of my favourites and this was the ...
...thing that stands out with pringles is the generous helping they give you. The tubes are filled to the top and you know you are getting good value for money. This is not found in many other products. ~ PRINGLES ~ Pringles were first sold in America in 1966 and soon became available to many other in the mid seventies. They were known as potato chips and spread quickly around the country. They are now sold in over thirty countries world wide and sales ...

BBQ? Nah.... STEAK!

Advantages: taste good, good price if on offer, tube can be used for so mnay things once empty!
Disadvantages: High in fat and calories, do not taste like BBQ flavour

...~~THE PACKAGING~~ The Pringles come in a nice thick cardboard tube which has a clear plastic lid. I love the design of the lid as it means I can keep them fresh if for some reason there are any left after hubby gets his hands on them. The tube is a burgundy colour and on the front it has the Pringles logo and a picture showing a few of the Pringles and some tomatoes pieces, onion segments and spices. Around the sides of the tube are the ingredients, ...
...~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~ Pringles are available in a variety of different shops and in all supermarkets and the price really does depend on where you shop. For me I pay £1.48 for the 155g tube from Tesco but at the moment they are on offer for £1 but in my local Londis they are priced at a silly £1.79 which I think is awful. They are usually on offer so I tend to only buy them at this time. ~~INGREDIENTS AND NUTRITION~~ For those who wish to ...

Yum yum yum... But not so good on the bum!

Advantages: Simply delicious, handy little tub which makes no rustling noise!
Disadvantages: Addictive and full of fat so rubbish if you like to be healthy

...in my competition for which Pringles have the best flavour. I first tried these delicious little beauties in Texas Barbeque Sauce earlier this year. My mum had brought some back with her from Tesco, for no reason inparticular (they were probably on offer knowing her) and straight away when she pulled them out of the carrier bag I could sense the rest of my family's and I's greedy eyes fall upon them and think to ourselves "I'm havin' some!" ...saw these that foods like Pringles which are full of fat rarely come into our kitchen. We're fairly healthy eaters and most of what we eat is fruit, vegetables and lots of brown rice, anything low fat and whenever my mum does buy crisps, she'll always get the low fat ones. I'm not complaining about this, by the way, I'm glad we eat so healthily. However its times like this when our tongues touch the Pringle, that we just have to give in and eat ...

...mustache is emblazoned on all pringles packages! Suggested uses for an empty pringle tube include Fill with beans to make a funky shaker- ideal size for a spaghetti holder what really amuses me about the Texan barbecue tube (although how they can advertise it as Texan when there are no real Texans in the tube. However that's what males them vegetarian!) are the lovely pictures of tomatoes on the brown tube as there are no mention of tomatoes in the ...

They are 34% fat and of this 10% us saturated fat in these crisps and 305 calories in the normal size tube. My Tube Of Pleasure-Texas Barbecue Pringles

Advantages: Crispy, Delicious and they have a real barbecue flavour taste.
Disadvantages: You Have To Eat Them All

I love Pringles Texas Barbecue flavour and they always seem to jump into my trolley when I am shopping (naughty Pringles now I will have to eat you). When you are in a Snack Attack Mood nothing else will do. It's that crispy delicious distinct dry potato taste that gets me every time and well there doesn't seem any point leaving any in the tube. About Pringles The Pringles recipe was made in 1956. In 1964 Pringles went into production. The distinctive ...

Get some addictive BBQ pringles, just mind the mess!

Advantages: Addictive flavour
Disadvantages: Messy, pricy and not that good for you

Of all the Pringles flavours, I find this one to be the most addictive. It's quite a strong, almost meaty barbecue flavour, but this somehow makes me want to eat more. Pringles are wavy crisps which stack perfectly, as they are all amde the same shape, and they're presented in a cylindrical tube. They're very distinctive. Recently, I went to do our weekly shop at Tesco, and bought a couple of tubes of Pringles as they were on offer. Normally, they ...
...are very expensive, usually rolling in at just under £2 for a 155g tube. However, they were on offer for 2 tubes for just over £2, so I thought I'd grab them. The crisps, despite the addictive flavour, are a bit annoying as they leave a bit of 'dust' on your fingers as the barbecue powder comes off very easily. Also, the tube causes a bit of a problem for me after about half the crisps have gone. I can't reach down into the tube as my hands are ...

So much more than your average crisp.

Advantages: They are totally delicious, and satisfying, great for ANY party!
Disadvantages: They are very morish and fattening.

...sat at computer eating the Pringles I managed to save from last night as a midday snack, although as expected, it is starting to turn in to a full meal. In order to fully appreciate these crisps I think that a bit of history is needed – ‘Pringle's Newfangled Potato Chips’, AKA ‘Pringles’ were first produced in 1968. They are produced and advertised by the man on the front of the tube, Mr Julius Pringle himself. Pringles are now and international ...

And for those of us who wish to diet – Light Original, and Light Sour Cream and Onion. There are also new Gourmet Pringles which have a ...

Don't pop or you won't stop

Advantages: Very moorish
Disadvantages: hard to stop

I enjoy Pringles and they are often on offer which is when I purchase them. I bought two tubes of Texas barbecue sauce from Wilko's today as they are £1.55 buy one and get one free. Pringles are currently in the news for losing a high court battle disputing whether there items are a potato snack. The makers of Pringles have claimed that despite containing 43% potato they are not similar to regular crisps. There reasons are that they are all the same ...
...the car he noticed the Pringles in the other bags dropped his crisps and ran back to the house with the tube. I removed the lid and pulled back the foil seal. Each crisp is the same oval shape it has a wide stripe of flavourings down the centre which is clearly visible. When you bite in they do have a great crunch. The Flavourings is strong and does linger in your mouth so why do I feel the need to grab one after the other. These do come with a plastic ...

Pringles which make your tongue tingle

Advantages: Pringle's usual great taste, with a hint of BBQ flavour
Disadvantages: Some additives, salt content - and no good if you don't like BBQ flavour

...to impress your guests then Pringles will do it far better than your ordinary crisps. Who doesn't find their shape attractive - and even if you serve them in their tube rather than your best dish they're still sure to impress. But you need variety, and Barbecue flavour is a welcome addition to the Pringles range. They're badged as "Texas BBQ sauce", although (unlike the usual over-the-top Texan approach) I'd say it's just a hint rather than full-in-your-face ...
...grainy texture compared to other Pringles crisps, and the flavour just seems to creep up on you - initially mild, but then tickling the tastebuds and leaving a gentle aftertaste on the tongue and lips. The piquancy seems to come from a mix of paprika, onion, mustard seeds, celery and other spices and flavourings. These Pringles are suitable for both vegetarians and vegans, and apparently have no artificial colours. However, the ingredients' list ...

Just as good as a trip to Texas!

Advantages: taste
Disadvantages: price

...my way through the whole Pringles range in my reviews at the mo, and now I come to the texas bbq ones - definitely my first choice. As I have said before, the flavours tend to be based on original old school crips flavours. Remember smokey bacon? In the pringle world it's called texas bbq sauce! This is a really nice flavour. You can actually see the flavouring on the crisp, as it is brown in colour. I find this quite satisfying, as you know for ...
...flavour has two distinct sides to it. To begin with, it has the bacony taste that we all know and love. Secondly, it has the 'smoked' taste, whereby you get that flavour and smell when eating smoked meat. Together it has a distinct BBQ feel to it. but is also nice and tangy. It's not as powerful as some flavours, such as salt and vinegar, but is still really nice. In fact, some of the other flavours are too strong for me, whereas this one is subtle ...

I just can't stop popping

Advantages: tasty, stay fresh packaging
Disadvantages: high in fat

...For those who haven't tried Pringles before, they are very thin crisps stacked into a hollow tube. The plastic lid covers a foil lid which is sealed - hence the 'pop' on opening. Nowadays, there is a guarantee printed on the side of the tube that it will contain at least 90 crisps. The Texas bbq sauce flavour come in a brown/purple tube and the crisps are dusted with a red/orange powder - which is the flavouring. The flavour of the crisps really ...
...coated with. I find in an average tub, there are several very bland flavourless crisps and several too strongly flavoured crisps, but in general they are very tasty. The flavour isn't especially smokey as you may expect from a bbq sauce nor is it spicey. It is a bbq flavour though and is very moreish. The crisps are crunchy and the design of the packaging means that you are able to keep them fresh for longer too (if you have any left). As with ...
