Advantages Advantages Something a little different to everyday games

Disadvantages Disadvantages You need to be vigilent for sub titles

If your a history lover or just want a game where you have to sit there plan your way around then this is the game for you. The sujestion "beat the guards at there own game" is basically what you have to do. The game is played in the three toughest concentration camps of Germany back in world war two. Get other inmates to help you on your mission. little Trinkets are money and money is freedom as this is what buys the help of some more shifty people. STORY LINE Shot down form your plane in germany World War 2 you are arrested and taken to a prison camp. Your original mission to destroy a ... more

Advantages Advantages a great idea which hasnt been done before

Disadvantages Disadvantages graphics and sounds bit jerky at times

Prisoner of War is one of the few games for the PS2 which I find seems to go unnoticed...and it really shouldn't be. I bought the game around 2 years ago now and I still value it as one of the best games in my colection and here's why : The storyline : The game is set in World War 2 and is based around the fictional character Captain Lewis Stone. The game begins with his plane being shot down and being captured by the German enemy. He is placed in a German prison, and then you take over as the character. The sole objective of the game is to escape with your only weapons being stealth and ... more

    Advantages Advantages None

Disadvantages Disadvantages Camp German accents, stereotypes galore

This game is simply vile, there is very few redeemable qualities about this game at all. The game is a puzzle game, with you playing an american pilot captured and imprisoned in a German Prisoner of War camp. Here is a sample of the truly dreadful humour and dialogue: (Stone who has just crashed to the earth, as his plane goes down) is greeted by a German Herr Kommandant. German Officer: Ah! How nice of you to "drop in"! Yes, the humour is that caliber. The graphics are dreadful, the guards heads seem to be five sizes to big for their bodies, and their rifles rather worringly resemble woodden ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great game

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not too sure

War games seem to be all the rage nowadays with Medal Of Honour, Commandos 2 and now Prisoner of War all hitting the PS2 in the same sortie. POW is a difficult game to sum up. It's like MGS2 during the war but without guns. It features sneaking around avoiding guards, collecting items and interacting with NPC's, but there's no high-tech gadgetry or getting pooed on by seagulls. You take the role of Lewis Stone, a recon pilot shot down over occupied territory and captured by the Germans. You start in a small holding camp and in order to get free you have to chat with inmates who already know ... more

    Advantages Advantages brilliant game

Disadvantages Disadvantages can drag if you dont know what to do

I have had this game for about a month. I dont think I have played a game like this before. One where you have to think rather than shooting a selection of bad guys or funny looking monsters. You play the role of captain Lewis stone, who is shot down over germany during world war two and held in stalag luft and then colditz concentration camp. Captain lewis stones mission is to destroy a new super gun but first You must escape these camps but you dont use guns and bombs, you must use stealth movements and items that you steal and borrow from other prisioners in the camp. You must also be ... more

Advantages Advantages Adventure, challenging, thought provoking

Disadvantages Disadvantages quite high difficulty levels

Prisoner of war is an rpg game set in world war 2. At first impression i expected the game to be similar to the usuall shoot em up style that seems to be the main focus of the vast majority of world war 1&2 games. When you finally play this game you will be very surprised, this game offers everything you could possibly want from a prisoner of war game-- you really are a prisoner of war, You live the life of a prisoner with their morning and nightime rollcalls, breakfast, dinner, exercise yard ect, guards patrol from watchtowers and patrol the grounds, The aim of the game is to escape ... more
