Advantages Advantages Handy, Clean, Does The Job.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dries Out, Smells, Is Quite Expensive and Hard To Get off Your Fingers!

Today I have spent the day entertaining my two-year-old brother, as my mum has been ill. For me I feel the day was divided into 3 parts: 1 - Lets run around the garden like lunatics shouting and being as noisy as possible which is something big sis cant deal with first thing in the morning! 2 - Nap time, while sitting watching a Huckleberry Hound Video with James fast asleep on his beanbag I decide that I NEVER want children! I have said this all my life and I am still 100% sure this is true. Don't get me wrong I think kids are great… as long as I can give them back to their parents! 3 - The ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages more expensive than some rivals

Pritt **PACKAGING** I use a lot of this at home and at work, and tend to buy it by the box, usually 24 of the 40g sticks, since these are the ones I think are the easiest for children to hold (the glue sticks, not the box) So, thinking of the 40g stick, these have a pull off top and written all over the stick is the Pritt logo. There is a black turn up and turn down mechanism at the bottom which makes the actual glue stick move up or down. Children are usually quite fascinated by this, and at first twist the glue right to the top, but once the initial attraction has worn off, are usually quite ... more

5 Stars This is a Stick Up! Review with images 01/07/2004

    Advantages Advantages Handy, not messy

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not exceptionaly sticky

I seem to remember that the advertising when this first came out, and it was hailed as "Pritt, the non-sticky , sticky stuff "..........huuughh? Well either it’s sticky or it’s not.......right? Well actually I see what they mean. It is sticky , and there again it’s not. It’s not messy at least, I think they should have called it Pritt the non messy sticky stuff, but it doesn’t have the same ring to it. Glue that isn’t sticky is a bit of a misnomer isn’t it ? I remember Reginald Perrin, in the 70's, when he started a chain of ‘Grot’ shops, which were a kind of anti-consumer society shop, where ... more

The German firm Henkel, which is mostly associated with Germany’s most famous and best-selling washing powder Persil, also produces the glue stick Pritt. In fact, it was invented there in the year 1969, in the now 41 years of its existence it has developed into a worldwide bestseller. Not only in its home country, meanwhile Pritt is delivered to 121 countries, more than one billion Pritt glue sticks have been sold. What distinguished Pritt from the beginning from other brands was the ‘twist-up ease’. The Henkel people had studied lipstick applicators and then transferred the mechanism to the ... more

5 Stars I'm Sticking to Pritt for Now Review with images 09/07/2005
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages reliable, good quality, good price

Disadvantages Disadvantages lid loss, dried out

Being a girl who is very into art, who is always drawing and painting, backing pictures onto card, there is one thing I can't live without and that is my Pritt Stick. I am always sticking things down on paper whether it be my art work, autographs that I collect or just tissue paper etc. I have used Pritt Stick ever since I can remember and will go as far to say that I am very loyal to the brand. Pritt Stick is handy and there is probably not an office who doesn't own it. PACKAGING So, if there is one thing that has never changed or that I always think of when I think Pritt Stick, it's the ... more

Advantages Advantages Non Toxic, washable, provides hours of fun

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only suitable for paper and similar materials

Anyone with young children will know that keeping their little one entertained come high on their list of priorities. There’s nothing I like more than rolling up my sleeves, donning a pinny and dragging the kids into the kitchen armed with loads of paper, pens and paint. We all have fun making a mess, or should I say creative works of art. While Craig, aged one is more than happy dipping his hands in paint, or scrawling across large pieces of paper with crayons or pencils, Gemma now 6 sees herself as a higher being in the art world and prefers to do more grown up things like cutting out pieces ... more

Advantages Advantages Quick to apply and dry.

Disadvantages Disadvantages None really, although I don't use it much anymore.

Another item from my stationary box that warrants a review is the humble Pritt Stick. It was invented in 1968 and by 1971 was sold in over thirty six different countries. "Pritt" being the brand of the glue stick is still a market leader although many other brands of glue stick are now available. The particular stick I have is the 20g one which is relatively small, approx seven centimetres in height. The glue is housed in a predominantly white plastic container with a white easy to twist off cap. The brand name "Pritt" is clearly labelled and two messages are boasted on the tube: "Quick, easy ... more

Advantages Advantages quick, clean and easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Pritt Stick from Henkel The Pritt Stick has to be the best loved glue for paper and office type needs. it has been around for ages and i can totally see why. It is widely avalible and at a really good price. The large tubes come in at around £1 but you can get the smallest ones for around 40pence. This price is a real bargain as they seem to last for ages. I have a 10 gram tube which has been sitting on my desk at home for a good while and serving its purpose well. You do have to be careful however to put the lid back on properly as these Pritt Sticks have a tendancy to dry up and become ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I think a Pritt Stick is something that everyone can remember using as a child, or like me as an adult. In the past I have tried various cheaper versions of this type of glue but none have been as good or stuck as well as the original Pritt Stick. The Packaging The Pritt Stick packaging is very distinctive, the glue comes in a stick form within a plastic tube. The tube is mainly white in colour, it has the word Pritt written in white lettering within a red arrow shape, the tube has a blue band around the top just below the lid which has quick, easy, clean and washable written around it, again ... more

    Advantages Advantages really sticks well

Disadvantages Disadvantages no idea when it will run out!

I have tried a variety of different glue sticks over the years for when either myself or the grandchildren have been doing arts and crafts but nothing has ever compared to the quality of this brand so although you may be able to find cheaper alternatives I definitely don't think that they compare to these at all! Twist glue This glue is what my grandchildren refer to as 'twist glue' as it comes in a plastic tube and is twisted up to get more out. It is a dense, thick glue which you wipe onto the paper or lolly stick or whatever it is you wish to stick and it leaves behind a sticky residue ... more
