KONAMI HITS AGAIN.

Advantages: very realistic game play, good graphics and numerous leagues.
Disadvantages: lack of license.

...the releases of play station2 pro evolution series; there are not many differences between the previous pro evolution installations and the recent ones. But all the same, thanks to konami for their brilliant soccer installations full of brilliant game plays and artificial intelligence. As usual, I will not fail to recommend this to pro evolution hard-core fans because if I fail to do so, then I have failed to pass very vital information among pro ...
...Obviously, as a pro evo fan that has been playing the previous installation, there are many similarities in the game plays but with some slight differences. So if you have not seen the game, you can equally visualize the game play of the previous pro evolution installation that you have been playing. What actual make up the thin line between this recent and previous installation? First I have to start up with the graphics by saying that there is ...

Another dose of the best on ps2

Advantages: Game play, reality, graphics, skills, cup modes, master league
Disadvantages: Lack of official licenses and teams.

...an avid fan of the pro evolution franchise for many years now and eagerly await any new release as if it were christmas. So every October the prospect of a new edition of this delightful game fills me and many of my friends with joy, taking entire days off university / work and all other responsibilities to wet our appetites with what is always an unbelivable game. I've waited until now (November 18th) to review this game as it would be unfair to ...
...it remains very similar to pro evolution 6, but a few minutes in you'll becime aware of the changes. The commentary is noticably less irritating, the layout of menus is a breath of fresh air and the new updated teams, kits, players and statistics make it an essential purchase for any past fan. Probably the highlight for me however is the new European championships mode on the cup menu where you are able to select a team and take them through the ...

The Anti-Climax of PES 2008

Advantages: Still the best soccer game in terms of gameplay
Disadvantages: No noticable improvements from the last release

The Pro Evolution Soccer series has been around for a while now, and even though they are all very similar in terms of playerbility, you still get that feeling of excitment when a new PES hits the shelves. After playing PES 7 extensively (both master league and against friends) I was expecting another step up in quality. I was left disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the gameplay is still brilliant and light years ahead of the arcade-like Fifa, but ...
...some aspects have even gone backwards which left me wondering what the hell went on at Konami during the making of PES2008. First off is that hardly any of the players actually look like their real life versions. Apart from a hand full of the big names (Beckham, Owen, Ronaldo, Gattuso, Ferdinand) every other player looks the same. I actually thought Konami did a good job on the last couple of releases but thats not the case here. As mentioned before, ...

Pro Evo 2008 Review

Advantages: Excellent graphics, better commentary then Pro Evo 6
Disadvantages: Still licence issues

I am a lifelong Pro Evo fan - owning every single release dating back to the original, and knew that I had to buy this new release. After purchasing Pro Evo 2008 last year, I instantly knew that Konami had bettered themselves, even after the success of Pro Evo 6. Once you load the game and get to the starting screen, you will be pleased to see that the menu's are better laid out and the different options are more accessible. The game is better updated ...
...buy any game in the Pro Evo series. As for the game modes, there is no real difference between this release and the previous one. I felt that if this game was lacking anything, it would be the fact that there were no new game modes. In-game play is fairly similar to Pro Evo 6 in my opinion but there are noticable improvements. Graphics are slightly more realistic and look more fluid. The one huge improvement lies in the commentary, with the words ...

Lads round, couple of beers and bring out Pro Evo

Advantages: One of the greatest multiplayer sports games of all time.
Disadvantages: May end up taking over the night

...was new to the whole Pro Evo thing until this game came out. In fact, my PS2 was boxed up under my bed ready to be sold as I thought I had out grown the whole computer game thing. Well, this game changed that. After ending up at a mates house a for a few nights out with his PS2, this game and a few beers I felt that I just had to get it myself. The reason for this is that it is a fantastically enjoyable game (particularly in a group situation), ...
...keep you entertained for hours. I got my copy for £20 and was half expecting that it would sit in my room under the TV until I had people round and then it would be brought out for a few games and put away. However this is about as far from the truth as could happen. I found myslef playing alone as well, as the single player mode is almost as much fun. Without going through all the ins and outs of what you can do in this game I will sum it up simply. ...

Pes is the best

Advantages: Gameplay graphics, Ai, design
Disadvantages: License

I think this game has great gameplay and graphics. It's a great game and i recommend it. One of the biggest down points is the licensing, Since the greatest league in the world (The Premiership) is not fully licensed it's a big down from me on that point. However don't let that put you off, It has a great new AI system where it basically adapts to your gameplay. The graphics are pretty good and it's value for money however it could still improve ...

PES 1 - 0 FIFA

Advantages: great graphics, game play, custom leagues, custom teams, custom players
Disadvantages: lack of leagues and teams

PES is fairly new in the football game world but boy does it take the lead with this product. Although there is a lack of teams and world leagues, PES makes up for this with game play. The graphics are far superior to that of FIFA and you have much more control of what you want individual players and teams to do. Custom teams and leagues can turn the game into a fantasy football league whilst the major European leagues can keep the game play realistic. ...

Good football game

Advantages: Very fun game with good and easy to play
Disadvantages: Club names are not fully licensed so they have weird names, commentary

The Pro Evolution Soccer series and Fifa are always the main football games. This game has all the features of a great football game and has all the big clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and many more. In this edition the graphics are better than ever before and look quite realistic. The players have more detail than before and some more than others e.g. Cristiano Ronaldo looks very realistic while worse players ...
...from which is a nice touch. The sound like on most football games is a bit bad and sometimes the commentary is completely irrelevant. The music on the game is not very good either but this is not very important on a football game. The actual gameplay is very good and really fun. The computer also seems to have got a lot better and harder to play against but it is best to play against your friends. It has now become easier to score from long distance ...

Pro Evo is back, not too different.

Advantages: Best football game ever, the gameplay is so realistic it's amazing.
Disadvantages: Not enough changed , seems more like a roster update

Pro Evo 2008 is an incredible game, that can't be disputed, the only problem for me is that there isn't too much that sets this apart from previous titles. I would say that my favourite addition is the "world Tour" option , this is like many mini-games and challenges that really break the monotony from just exhibition after exhibition. There is a good range of teams althoguh the German league has been excluded this year with just the prominent teams ...
...files out there on dedicated Pro-Evo forums that have fully edited kits for all the sides y ou'd like to be in the game. The gameplay is awesome as usual and having played this on the PS2 , PS3 and 360, I must say the PS2 is by far the best. They stick to the original script with a few more additions for the hardcore fans. One thing I thought was both refreshing but also very lame was the change in commentary. It's been long needed for a change but ...

The best footie game returns!!

Advantages: Almost as good as the real thing
Disadvantages: None

...bought each new version of Pro Evo since PES 2. Whilst on the face of things it never looks like much has changed between versions, as soon as you pick it up and start playing everything feels familar but subtly different. However to the hardened Pro Evo player after a few weeks of playing master league domination on the hardest difficulty level will come. As a PES addict, even though my mighty Blackburn Rovers team wins the league & cup every year ...
...new features on the PS2 release of PES2008 such as community mode and World Tour. These sould keep me entertained for even longer. Some people bash PES for not having all the official team licenses out of the box but this can be fixed with a max drive and one of many option files produced by the massive online fanbase (just search for PES option file in google and you will see!! ...

Pro evolution soccer 2008

Advantages: great graphics,excellent gameplay
Disadvantages: team license, bad carreer mode

I always loved pro evolution soccer for its graphics and for its game play but it does not have license for all the teams and also it does not have a manager mode or a career mode.I have played all the previous versions of pro evolution soccer and this one is the best is terms of graphics, music, commentary and game play. the create player feature of this game is also very good. this mode allows you to create you own player customize him the way ...

Better than Fifa!

Advantages: Everything game play graphics and sounds
Disadvantages: None i cant fault it!

I have been playing Pro Evolution Soccer for as long as most reviewers on this site and, for the life of me, I really don't understand what all this griping is about. Admittedly, I was very disappointed by the licensing, but then us PES fans always are but the gameplay (which is surely more important??) always wins us over. As a United fan I was twice as disappointed by the removal of Old Trafford and the fact that Konami had the license for the ...
...victim of the licensing wars. However, you can edit until your hearts content (which you CANNOT do on the PS3 version, Mr Smug Next Generation Console Man who slated this version) or you can pay somebody a small fee to do the dirty work for you. Anyway, the gameplay (for who really cares about the rubbish menus and the rubbish music - don't you realise you can switch the menu music off ?? Or do you not possess a mute button ??!). The gameplay is ...
