Here comes another Pro Evo

Advantages: Very enjoyable, improved graphics and AI
Disadvantages: Xbow Live is poor, still very little licensing for teams

...in the long line of Pro Evolution Soccer games to be produced by Konami. The Konami team had a difficult job to match this height of expectation when creating the next-gen versions of Pro Evolution Soccer, attempting to live up to the great gameplay and intelligent AI that fans of the series have come to expect. And I can safely say that the instinctive controls and superb gameplay is there for all to see. Gameplay Konami has moved the series forward ...
...a large disappointment for most Pro Evo fans. Most of the games I have played online have been ruined, with the ball appearing behind your defence a split second after you have just battled for it in the midfield. If you are purchasing the game purely for the Live capability I suggest you steer clear. Grievances Not really enough for there to be a whole category but I thought I better list them anyway, and most will be known to Pro Evo fans with ...

Another year another PES

Advantages: Better Graphics
Disadvantages: Only slight improvements on previous version

...it was better known as Pro Evolution Soccer. It was an instant success and has through each successive year become a game that has it's fan eagerly awaiting it's annual publication. It's fiercest competitor in this sports market is FIFA Soccer and it is simply a matter of preference as to which game one thinks is superior, since each have their own merits and demerits. For me however the rivalry between the two companies and fan sets is of little ...
...though FIFA is, PES, or Pro Evo as Pro Evolution Soccer is better known surpasses it quite substantially in my book. The vast difference in the graphics since that first publication in 2001is blatantly obvious, and even more so should you be fortunate enough to play the game on an HD ready TV. The players are instantly recognisable the graphics are sharp and vivid, and the animation is simply stunning. It is small details that make a big game like ...

Another great football game!

Advantages: great fast paced football game - suitable for anyone who likes football
Disadvantages: lacks as many licences and clubs as fifa

...a strong follower of the pro evo series and bought this game as soon as it was released despite many people trying to persuade me to go to the 'other side' and buy Fifa. Was this the year that fifa took the lead? I have to say that i am confident i made the right decision and have seen several improvements from last year's game and have enjoyed this game loads, it was certainly worth buying. This game has had many improvements from its predeccesor ...
...There are as usual, on pro evo, some great songs from a variety of different bands. I would also like to mention that the commentary in this version is a great improvement from last year and they actually say more relevant things. There are still a variety of modes to choose from including the well loved master league mode where you can start as a team of your choice and play through games as well as being the manager and making team changes and ...

Best footy game EVER!

Advantages: Everything!!!
Disadvantages: Lack of licensing

...and its actually YOU! Pro Evo has always been known for its unique master league and to be honest the format here hasnt changed at all- which is a little bit annoying but it has developed enough to keep it very enjoyable and very addictive! The most fun you can have of Pro Evo though is if you have xbox live--- you can play anyone from across Europe and this makes the game very very addictive; you will find yourself playering 10 or 20 games a day! ...
...as much money as the Pro Evo series hasnt got all the licenses, this is irratating as it takes the fun out of player certain teams :( For example... Manchester Utd on the game are known as Man Red and dont have there official kit, there players are still there but this is the biggest difference between the Pro Evo and Fifa rivalry! Also the xbox live games are extremely laggy if you dont have a high connection speed- I play on a 2mg broadband line ...

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008

Advantages: Strong graphics, good gameplay, wide spectrum of AI
Disadvantages: Poor online capabilities, still lacking a fully licencsed lineup

The PES series of football games are often said to be the best of the bunch, with game play better than FIFA games, even if the graphics aren't quite up to scratch and at the cost of all the teams not being licensed. Well PES 2008 is a good game, no doubt about that, and being the first next gen PES, it had high expectations to live up to. Well the graphics in the game are certainly good enough for next gen, with players moving with greater fluidity ...
...theres a fair few teams too, however compare it with the latest FIFA outing, and it seems distinctly average. The Premiership remains unlicensed, apart from player names, and not even all the international teams have the correct player names, however we have come to expect that from PES games so lets put that aside and focus on the game play. The game play is generally very good, the AI is less robotic and will make the odd mistake, and it also ...

Pro Evo - More like an update... roll on 2009.

Advantages: Fast-paced, multiplayer fun, hours of enjoyment
Disadvantages: Strangely disappointing for the hardcore fans

...for a decade. FIFA or Pro Evo? Well this year, it's a close contest. In my opinion, the PES series has been the stronger contender of the two games in recent years, leading to a borderline addiction. But this year, surprisingly, I have put down the pad and decided to write this review instead. For some reason, the game has slightly lost its charm. The graphics are very good with some very realistic player likenesses and an edit mode to correct ...
...time. All in all, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is a good quality game with months of playability if you like that sort of game. Not much of a leap from its predecessor but more of an update. It has lost plenty of ground on its rivals this year and also loses some of its addictiveness over time, but is still definitely worth buying. ...

Pro Evo - Classic

Advantages: Another great game in the series - Lots of teams great gameplay
Disadvantages: XBOX 360 is pushed to the limit gets very hot and loud

In my opinion Pro Evo has well and truly stole Fifa's title as the must have football game on consoles. There's nothing much new in this edition and it's a bit annoying that not all the premiership teams have the correct badges and kits because Fifa still own the exclusive rights to them (only until 2010 though) but the graphics are great and the selection of teams is huge. I bough the 360 version before I got my PS3 but I wish I'd got it on the ...
...plays the same, but there's just something about the Playstation version that feels better, maybe it's the fact it was exclusive on PS2 for so long and everyone got used to the button configuration. There's a few more options than the last version and the bonus with the 360 version is that the online content is much better. It still has the odd bug where it freezes which makes me think it was rushed out because of the building expectancy but it's ...

This is a great game i baught this the day it came out the reason i have not given the game 5/5 is because of all the bugs and poor designing the next gen versions of this game has. i love the game it is so addictive and the gameplay is excelent, the players move like they do in real life and you can do so many different skills you can do in real life. One of the main reason i baught this game is because of the online play it has instead of havin ...

IVe been able to play maybe 10% of the time a decent game were it was playable but majority of the time it was impossible for me to play a good game. The offline ...

PES2008

Advantages: Nice game of Football
Disadvantages: too Easy and Online.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 made by Konami and the rival to Fifa hold on the football gaming sims. Well to start off this new encounter of the PES series isnt one that going to leave you speechless in anyway there really isn\'t much gain from the last years PES6 there a some nice added features with the gameplay like for example the game seems to flow more like a real game of football but really there isn\'t much more improvement to the gameplay than ...
...lot easier. Its very simple to score a goals you can shot of about 40 feet and still score. You can run around the defence without much difficulty. I found this while playing on the medium level of difficulty. Konami has brought back the editing mode with was really lacking on the PES6 for the Xbox 360. So you\'ll able to change the team names, player names, stadium names and league and cup names. Konami have added the full premier leagues from France, ...

Not the best football game I have played

Advantages: Single player gameplay is fun
Disadvantages: Online gameplay is very stuttery

For me pro evoloution soccer 2008 was excellent in certain aspects of the game but shocking in others. Pro 2008 offers excellent offline modes. Including Exhibition, league and Master League modes. The gameplay in these modes are both entertaining and fun. Also with the different skill categories like amatuer and intermediate you can progress nicely with the game. The game allows good control of the ball and smooth gameplay but only offline. If ...
...matches your opinion changes of pro 2008. Gameplay is very stuttery and confusing which gets very annoying very quickly. Sometimes game stops altogether and says signal lost and says that I have a poor signal but when I play a different game my signal is excellent. The game overall is okay, I recommend this game if you don't have xbox live if you do I wouldn't buy this game. ...

...consumers. This year, Konami released Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to critical indifference. The game has been seen, up util now, as the greatest adaptation of modern football for games consoles. This year though, EA's FIFA 2008 stole the crown with its superb visuals and in depth career mode. In my humble opinion, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is the far better game. I purchased both games on release date but have since sold FIFA. The reason for this is ...
...rated teams in the game. Pro Evo 08 though, is filled with unpredicatble and fun moments. The control system is as streamlined as ever, the players movement always directly correlating with your thumbs. The matches are always competitive, with 0-0 draws playing out into a sprawling tatical battle. I have spent many hours on the games master league mode that allows you to raise a team of average players into world beaters through a solid tansfer ...

Pro 08 Review

Advantages: Enhanced graphics, game-play, AI (artificial intelligence)
Disadvantages: Lack of Licienced Teams, new feautures

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is KONAMI's latest soccer game. The game-play is very similar to that of the previous version; the only noticable difference is in the player's ability to more skilfully turn with the ball. The speed seems slower, but this is an advantage in my opinion, because the previous games were far too fast. New fancy skills have been added but these can take quite some time to learn. If you are thinking of buying books to swat up ...
...the menu. The Graphics in Pro 2008 are simply the best of the entire series. For example, the player's facial expressions match their actions much better than ever before and their hair moves more realistically when they run. The well known edit mode is better too; you can now edit all characters (this was unavailable on PRO 6). With the XBOX 360's eye vision camera, you can also take a portrait picture of yourself and paste it onto a blank virtual ...

...have had all of the pro evolution games since back when it was International superstar soccer many years ago! I think these games get better everytime but still always lack something vital in certain departments. This version is no different. The graphics are brilliant, with moving crowd that hold their heads in their hands when you concede a goal and literally cheer with each other when you score. As for the gameplay...well...it never stops getting ...
...well with real licenses (unlike pro evo), but pro evo masters the way you can pass, shoot, dribble and cross. Theres something so real and natural about how the football is actually played that can not be touched by other games in its genre. It still lacks real life league formats and a lot of team names and kits, but this game has everything else you could want. Plus, if you are a pro evolution geek like myself...you will know there is a way you ...

Quick review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Xbox 360)

I have often found myself playing this game night after night with many of my friends, due to it's realism in the style of football, and the graphics used on the game. The game can be played by up to 8 people, meaning socailly, the game is very good to be played when friends come round. In England this game is very popular with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo promoting the game, therefore appealing to a younger audience. I have owned all the Pro Evolution games, and would gladly buy any other Pro Evolution Soccer game that came out ...
