...Pro evolution soccer 2 is the latest in the award winning series by Konami. After making games for PS, PS2 and GameCube, Konami still seem to be going strong even after lacking in certain areas, such as player names, kits, logos.
The actaul game is great. It starts with a multilingual language support for 6 new languages and then a great new look video. The bsoundtrack being "We will rock you" is a sign that it's going to be good. The Opening sequence ... ...the game are the FIFA pro licenses are missing for both international teams and club teams. The team names are even wrong so this is a major setback in their quest to become the worlds greatest soccer game. The latest transfers such as RIO FERDINAND to MAN UTD are missing so thats a minus too, but overall the game still lives up to high expextations predicted beforehand.

Whilst Pro Evolution 2 has a great amount to offer players in single player mode, a variety of cups and leagues as well as the new umbro pro training centre, and the ability to unlock secret teams (a good few more than PES1) for me it is still the multiplayer game which keeps me coming back for more. The game has been tightened up so it is harder to thrash players who have only played a few matches as it really has become a lot ... ...the game more challenging and enjoyable. Always great for an hour or so even when you have exhausted all the single player options.
All the features of the first game such as player creation and editing have been included this time around with the much needed and greatly appreciated team editing option now added (finally no more LONDON instead of Arsenal) so you can create your own players and save them with a memory catridge giving the game that ...

Just whilst you were worrying about having to watch Tim Henman dither with Wimbledon and play in it for a week and a half, the football experts have brought you right back on to the edge of your seat again!
Although this game was brought out quite a while ago, I thought it was important to remind ... ...have the rest of the Pro Evolution Soccer games (even the ones that came out on the PS1) you can still see how each new release has been that little bit extra. I dont think ill be the only one who'll say that this version is miles better than any of the others that ive played!
The downsides of the game are of course that alot of signings which were made during the season havent been made, and a few of the transfers which were made before last season ...

...of you who don't know Pro Ev 2 is a football simulation game to end all footie sims. It is the sequel to the best selling pro ev 1 which was spawned from the International Superstar Soccer range. It is quite simply the only football game worth playing on any games system you care to name and heres why:
The stats on which the players attributes are based in this game comes from the same people that provide them for Champ Manager the undisputed king ... ...its worth the damage.
Pro Ev 2 goes for about £20 these days (try Gameplay) and is well worth it for anyone interested in football at all. If you've got the first game its still worth it for more teams and better master league, smoother, quicker gameplay and the ability to actually score freekicks as well! I for one am looking forward to the third version of the game due for release on 28th Novemeber this year. Lets hope its another stormer and ...

...balls and crosses. Pro Ev 2 also holds back on stupid tricks but does have a few to keep you entertained such as the step-over and the dummy.
Although some superstars have not given the game rights to use their name Pro Evolution compensates for this with fake names which allow you to know who they are such as "Ronoldo" is well "Ronaldo" duh! other names include "Roberto Larcos" aka "Roberto Carlos"
Pro Ev 2 isnt just an amazing two player game ... ...you are new to the Pro Evolution franchise then they have something called a Master League.
This means that you pick a team to play with and well manage.You are given a team full of drop outs who you will need to try hard to win with. Once you do win you get points for example 300 for a win ect and bonuses for goals scored. With these points you have to pay wages and arange transfer of players.Season after season you will gain more and more points ...

...a girl, I thought, mmm Pro Evolution....whats the fuss???!!! My brothers play it, my boy friend plays it and all their friends and my friends play it....all boys of course!! So I thought, ok I will give it a go. Normally I preffer to play my nintendo game cube playing mario or sonic or something a bit more colourful and playful...but playing a football game isnt normally my thing. I was getting so sick and tired of watching everyone play Pro Evolution, ... ...can learn to be a pro at the game. It is good if you have a lot of time on your hands because trust me....its really addictive!
Pro Evolution 2 just came out recently as we all know, and the best thing about the new game (being from Scotland) is that Rangers and Celtic are now in it. The best football game in the world, that's what i say! Choose to have a friendly, start a master league or a cup. Play a cup with a maximum of 36 players, YES 36! What other games can you get where the maximum number of players is 36? Choose club or national teams to play in a cup or exhibition. In a master league you start with your favourite club and you start with a full team of made up players, that aren't very good. ... ...£25 but it was worth £45. So now it's getting older it has gone down in price, but look out for Pro Evolution Soccer 3, the improved game that is not out yet!

...game, was the original ISS Pro on the PS1 which really opened my eyes to a new level of football games. The realism, as opposed to a game like Fifa or Virtua Striker or any game as a matter of fact, is phenomenal.
Graphics:
The graphics are good, although not quite as spectacular as say Fifa or This Is Football 2002. The players do have likenesses to certain players but they are not brilliant representations. The stadiums are not bad either, they ... ...Its in this area where pro evo really flourishes, the animation really is superb. You'l also start to notice little touches, such as defending players raising there hand in a call for offside, a player wincing and bending over in pain as the ball rebounds off of his family jewels, the automatic replays after a dramatic save or shot, the ball bouncing off the corner flag as opposed to going straight through it as in some other games etc. These little ...

...you look for the original Pro Evolution Soccer for half the price in a bargain bin somewhere? My opinion is, it's definitely worth the money, but if you're on a tight budget, you may not feel it's worth an extra £20 for updated graphics, tweaked gamplay and up-to-date players and teams. Although I do.
Put simply, this game is definitely one of the best games out on PS2, and well worth a look.
Oh, and Xbox and Gamecube versions? I wouldn't hold ...

...of those games too, but Pro Evolution (and now the sequel) is far more realistic and challenging, and hence the superior game. The latest FIFA has clearly tried to imitate Pro Evolution, and does a fairly good job, but i got the impression it was slightly rushed (the game side that is – the presentation in FIFA is amazing). Pro Evolution 2 is very similar to the last game, but has been tweaked to make sure it's still the best. It is slightly ... ...with improved animation. One thing I noticed in particular was how players could adapt to the height of the ball. So unlike in other footie games where you have to wait for the ball to drop to a height for which the player are animated to jump (!) the players can now stoop down to head balls at shoulder height. Again, this helps the game flow more naturally than before.
Other improvements are the goalies, which now tip the ball around the posts ...

After playing this game against a family member I was so impressed that I decided to go out and buy the game myself. This game has it all, fast, exciting, skill-based and innovative. In my opinion this game beats any of the FIFA titles out there, mainly due to the addictiveness involved in the matches, especially on multi-player mode. It is also an easy game to ‘get into’ and after a few matches a novice will easily the master the games basics. As ... ...the multiplayer option which enables a classic one on one encounter or encompass four person chaos with 2 players controlling on single team. For all its fine qualities, the game does suffer a few basic faults, one of which being that the referees do tend to miss fouls and the punishments provided for foul do not ‘meet the crime. If you own a ps2 and you like football then you have got to get this game. Forget Fifa. It doesnt even come close. If you crave realistic football action but get bored with the repetetive moves and predictable play you get with other football sims, then you won't be disappointed with this one.
With a wide range of skill levels to suit all abilities, you'll soon discover that there just isn't enough hours in the day.
The best feature of all is the ... ...the world to enter into a 3 league competition.
Delve into the tranfers market to try and persuade the worlds top players to join your club.
Starting from the 3rd division with group of very average players, you have to work your way to the top of the football tree.
With the edit mode you could even take Accrington Stanley to the top with players such as Ronaldo, Beckham and Zidane!!!

An update to Pro Evolution Soccer. It's worth buying even if you have the original. Apart from the updated stats, the animation has been improved, there are more detailed stats, formations and an increased number of moves the player can perform.
The crowning achievement is in the playability - it is the closest to real football yet. The AI is very good, now making a few human-like errors. But it's best played in mulitplayer mode. With up ... ...training mode adds longevity to the game. It allows you to test your dribbling skills, passing, free-kick taking and more.
Additional players and teams may be unlocked by winning tournaments with certain teams, or by reaching a number of points in the training challenges.
The commentary on the game is actually quite good this time round, and doesn't repeat itself too often.
The various stadiums are well designed, as are the good weather effects.
