Advantages Advantages Made to build up play in a realistic manner, the Master League

Disadvantages Disadvantages Handball, computer A.I., referee decisions, pass interpretation

With the arrival of other football titles in my games collection it looks as if Pro Evolution Soccer 3 would finally be on its way out. With the upcoming January transfer window approaching PES3 is perhaps surplus to requirements, but that's not to say that this not a class title, for I simply feel it is time to move on. As a PlayStation 2 title, the tendancy to model games towards realism is showing, and the effort towards recreating the beautiful game means we can identify with the football games we play. Those unfamiliar with the series will want to build up to match fitness level through ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great gameplay/addictive/fantastic depth

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The commentary

--------Introduction-------- This is a sports title - the sport being the beaUtiful game: Football. Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series has always been regarded by the critics as the superior and best football game out there. The main competition to the Pro Evolution games comes in the form of EA's FIFA games. This 3rd game in the series was released in October 2003 to a huge amount of antipation. I think that the back of the game box sums things up rather well indeed, "A new season starts! Real football is back!". Too true! Here we will be reviewing the PAL PlayStation 2 version of the title ... more

Advantages Advantages Good graphics, improved gameplay, addictive fo those who love football

Disadvantages Disadvantages extremely poor comentary, few liscenses

Due to complaints from friends I have been forced to change this to a 5 star rating. The game gets incredible once played for a while and outstanding goals become possible and in general it is something very satisfying to master. (Even though I always loose.) I would also like to thank all those who have read and rate this review, and urge you all to ignore the idiot rater who likes to think it will shove me off the top spot if he rates badly. Ok it’s true, when it comes to class; style and looks PES might as well be the video game equivalent of Tony Blair. However, no pain no game is what ... more

Advantages Advantages great playability especially with a multitap and mates!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some annoying glitches. nothing major

--------------------------- Intro ------------------------------- As you can gather from the title, this is a soccer game, but its not just one of your fifa's or your This Is Footballs; this is from the legendary Pro Evolution series, each one getting better than the other. Now, Pro Evolution Soccer 3 (PES3) has many features that the previous games didn't which should be expected from a more advanced game, however, it also blows the likes of Fifa and T.I.F out of the water (sorry to any hardcore Fifa fans out there!) ---------------------In Game options--------------------- Once in the game ... more

Advantages Advantages The Best Football Game Bar None

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of license means few 'real' player names

Well when it comes down to it, it's a game of two halves and i'm sick as a parrot that he has two left feet (unless he's English!). Dust down the sheepskin, clean the boots and pick up the controller to play the best football video game on God's green earth. I am a huge football fan and this is what makes me come back to PES3 again and again and again. If you are truly football mad then PES3 has an almost unlimited lifespan. The challenge training, the Master League mode and the hidden extras mean you just keep coming back. The one minor, obvious gripe and the ONE thing that the FIFA series ... more

Advantages Advantages Pretty much everything, apart from...

Disadvantages Disadvantages The gameplay is sometimes unrealistic, players and teams are wrong

With superb action game coming from Konami such as Metal Gear Solid, you would never expect them to come up with the best football game around. But they have! Although Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is already out and with number 5 coming out next month, I have only just started to play the Pro Evolution series and I am already addicted. The game is suitable for almost any number of players up to 4 at a time. I have had many happy experiences with my family and friends on mutiplayer. There is a wide selection of teams including both national and club teams. The only slight disadvantage is that all of ... more

Advantages Advantages Great gameplay can play for hours on end!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Hardley any licences.

I rate this game highly, the game play is amazing and it can be played for hours on end which is why i have given it a 5 star rating. I think anyone that disagrees with this are not wrong but are playing the wrong game, I do not know one person who rates any other football game above this one including the ever so popular Fifa series. Ok the only problems are the licensing, this is a problem because players, stadium names are all wrong. If you have the time you can edit these, this makes the game play better and you can enjoy it more, or create your own team!. The first screen offers, match ... more

Advantages Advantages Great football game better than FIFA 2004

    Disadvantages Disadvantages bad licensing

Pro Evoultion Soccer in my opinion is the best football game ever to be brought out on any console ever, yes I know that sounds cheesy, but people I'm being serious. Pro Evo's graphics are very classy, ok I've good to admit there not that different from the other two Pro Evo's, but still they have improved. Gameplay The gameplay on this game is just pure class it's not to hard and it's not to easy, I would have to say star 1 difficulty can't be called a difficulty as it is not difficult in the slightest, literally you can jog it up the pitch and the opposion don't move. Anyway as I was saying ... more

4 Stars Football's Coming Home! Review with images 17/06/2004

Advantages Advantages one of the best football games ever

Disadvantages Disadvantages Commentry is repetitive and annoying

"How can I begin to write a review about a game that combines brilliance, skill and a little bit of luck? It'll be hard but I'll try my best. "THIS IS THE SECOND BEST GAME EVER!" (behind pro evolution spccer 4). There are so many improvments from the previous two Pro Evolution games. The gameplay is so much more smother than all the other football games, passes can be made from one side of the pitch to the other with just a simple press of a button. Tackling is much more better as well. There are lots of tricks to perform on the ball as well. 360 degrees spinning drag back, lobbing, step overs ... more

    Advantages Advantages Innovative, brilliant gameplay

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of official names, kits, players and stadiums

Until I bought this game I thought FIFA was the best football simulation around but how wrong could I be? This is the third outing for the Pro Evolution Soccer series hence the title Pro Evolution Soccer 3. Pro Evo is quite different from FIFA in terms of gameplay instead of feeling like running through water in FIFA in PES3 you feel like you are really playing football. In Pro Evolution Soccer 3 there are a few game modes here they are. Match Mode: In this mode you can have an exhibition match or a penalty kick match. League Mode: Select 16 nations to take part in a league tournament you can ... more
