Good game, crap title.
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
TheDuke
Advantages: Huge sized levels, decent graphics and sound, good range of weapons, more realistic than other games of this genre.
Disadvantages: Crap A.I., terrible building design.
In Project:IGI (which stands for "I'm Going In" and will now be known from now on as IGI) you play David Llewellyn Jones, an ex-sas officer recruited by an anonymous counter-terrorist organisation to retrieve a stolen American nuclear warhead from what appears to be a Russian crime syndicate headed by members of the Pribori family. Jones is aided on this mission by Anya, an agent of the counter terrorist force who supplies him with mission updates ...

A great game wasted by lack of support...
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
Del_Boy
Advantages: Great graphics, Runs well on a variety of machines, Good weapons and recoil effects
Disadvantages: Lack of AI, Lack of savegame feature, Lack of multiplayer
First before I get to the criticsms I will go over the good parts,
Graphics
********
Using a modified engine from a flight sim, ensures that this game can show vast distances with ease. The graphics are good, whilst not being outstanding. A disappointment is the limited amount of death animations that the enemies have. If you have a decent PC with a lot of ram, then you can up the resolution and graphics details to maximum. The almost compulsory ...

Post Cold War Tension
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
SidneyJames
Advantages: Unique gameplay style, ggod graphics, longevity
Disadvantages: AI suspect, respawning.
...shoot up.
The basic premise of Project IGI is that you are an ex- SAS man (David Jones, its a shame it's not the British Monkee) on a mission to retrieve stolen nuclear warheads deep within the old soviet block. The game takes place over a number of vast levels all with their own missions and sub missions, which normally involve breaking into a variety of military complexes to achieve certain goals.
So had does Project IGI play?
Well from ...

STEALTH AND SKILL REQUIRED
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
Dimo
Advantages: Storyline, game structure, environments
Disadvantages: AI at times; 'magically materialising' soldiers
...perfect. Aside from these gripes, Project IGI is a very good game and provides a challenge even on the easy setting. However, there may be a patch released to upgrade the software and allow a save game facility. This will make things a whole lot easier but perhaps that would be a pity in a way. The best compromise might be to limit the number of saves per mission to two, or maybe three at most to keep the swear box empty.
Overall Project IGI (It ...

A pretty good game
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
Goran
Advantages: Good weapons, sounds and graphics. Interesting game-play
Disadvantages: The soldiers don't always react to your gunfire or the sight of someone being shot next to them.
...just bought one.
I've just bought Project IGI and have played it non-stop. Having been a devoted fan of the Rainbow Six series, for a while now, I was just dying to get more action! Unfortunately the next Rainbow 6 game doesn't come out until October, so I just had to buy something to fit in as a snack!
Project IGI is more than a snack, it's a meal! This game has got a rather interesting story compared to some other action games. Like many action ...

I'm Going In
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
kingsanj
Advantages: Exciting, sneaky
Disadvantages: Poor AI, game seems rushed towards end
TYPE: First Person Perspective Shoot-‘em up emphasising stealth and strategy
STORY: You are an SAS-type operative on a mission to retrieve a nuclear bomb from a rogue Russian Colonel called Ekk.
I really liked this game, it is a great deal of fun to play and has reasonable graphics, however, there are many flaws, which while not ruining the game, prevent it reaching classic status.
The first flaw is the AI, while it is at times clever, ...

HEY You shot me
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
greebofitz
Advantages: Graphics, Sound, Weapons, Huge Levels
Disadvantages: Hard, No Save game feature, NO MULTIPLAYER
Unlike the mediocre Delta Force Land Warrior, this is definately welcome change. Where Delta Force fails, IGI wins....by the way this happens to be in almost every gaming aspect available.
The view distance is amazing, with mountains stretching off for literllaly miles. You can even go on a little hike up them if you wish! This "outdoorness" allows for wasily the bes sniping in any game...ever...in the history of gaming. Climbing on top of a water ...

A botched opportunity
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
SirLink
Advantages: The sniping is great; huge levels with impressive viewing distances
Disadvantages: : Levels all look the same; not enough sniping; horrible enemy AI; cheating problems
...abound in computer-game design, and Project IGI held great promise with its mission-based, covert-ops first-person shooter focus, near-limitless viewing distances, and dazzling, huge outdoor vistas. Certainly, Innerloop's clever use of the Joint Strike Fighter flight-sim engine delivers an amazing visual experience. You can snipe from across huge maps, and realistically fire bullets through thin walls.
Unfortunately, that's about all you get with ...

Project I'm getting Irritable
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
Dohnutter
Advantages: Its Vast
Disadvantages: Its let down by poor AI
...the Ciao website, and that Project IGI is now out on budget, I thought it might be a good idea to write a review.
This game could be so, so good, but overall, its just so so. You move through the game, playing as ex SAS soldier David Llewelyn Jones, completing levels trying to rescue Proboi. The first few levels are easy, but you soon realise that lack of a save game feature becomes exceedingly annoying in the larger later levels. Most of the commands ...

IGI, I am defently going in.
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
robin_best
Advantages: One of the best
Disadvantages: Can be slow on low end machines
Project IGI is probably on of the best FPS games on the market, I can say that it is very close to, but not better than the best which if Half-life. This game puts you into some very detailed environments with real weapons (mini mi is the best). The sounds of the weapons are excellent and the AI of the enemy is quite good, as usually the enemy are quite dumb.
One of the most important things is that the hero is actually British, which is a reason ...

Sneaky Sniping
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
pe_jones
Advantages: Amazingly realistic. Addictive. Fun.
Disadvantages: No multiplayer facility
This has to be the best, most realistic, playable FPS/RPG game ever. Brought to us by Eidos and Innerloop studios, it feel's like the real thing.
In the game you play an ex- SAS welshman, David Llywelln-Jones, against the soviet world! The game is a mix of strategy and shoot-em-up, described as 'sneak your way in, shoot your way out'. The game boasts being apparently 'TESTED BY THE ARMY' and it cerainly feels real!
In the game there is a plethora ...

Superb game , shame no-one knows about it
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
seen206
Advantages: Excellent gameplay/Playablity
Disadvantages: Some graphics glitches, None of your friends will ever of heard of it
Set in the modern day with maps in snow, mountains and desert terrain this game has a good mix of missions. With a convincing storyline backed up by good cinematic clips in between missions. It leaves your always wanting to complete the next level to get ever closer to the elusive 'EKK'.
The maps are simply immense as no terrain is unreachable and the physical maps go on forever. In this game you will never reach so called 'out of bounds' (as once ...

Project IGI Hes going in!
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
jonty68
Advantages: Great gameplay, cheap to buy
Disadvantages: poor intelligence if you can call it that
Well what a great idea for a game... some dudes have stolen a nuclear weapon...nice to see the guys at Eidos are really pushing there writers into original plots(!) So what would make the game stand out from a fairly overused plot? We will see!
---Graphics---
The graphics are pretty ok, not up to photo-realism by far but definitely away from primitive cartoons seen in some games. The people look...average, scenery is quite nice and tanks and ...

Fantastic
Review of Project IGI (PC) by
tsp2010
Advantages: Fantastic Atmosphere and really draws you into the game.
Disadvantages: Thick AI and no Online gaming.
What a fantastic game. After just finishing it I have to say that this is the best game I have played this year (along side of Escape from monkey Island). Spanning 14 missions, with an average level size of 20 Kilometres and whole host of weaponry what more can you ask!. The level design is fantastic and you really do get into the atmosphere of the game.
The game was built on a modified "Joint Strike Fighter" engine this allows for the Huge levels ...
