...engine out of an MPI proton for only £100 quid with only 32,000 miles on it. The car drove very well, no bangs or groans even with the mileage.The gearchange was nice and smooth.Brakes work very well.I had a non PAS model but didnot miss it as the steering is already light.The only fault i had with the car is that the rear suspension bushes went and the rear tyres scub at an alarming rate(another fault but more common at high mileage).It cost over ...

...dont get me wrong, the proton has the reliablity and security but yesterday came to the test of the safety of the car. I was involved in a head on collision by a young lad that looks as if he has not been driving long speeding down a steep hill after storms. Proton is not the most glamourous or exciting manufacturer of car and when I bought it I was not convinced that I would like it. I have had the car a few months now and I love it. The car has a Mitsubishi engine which is as reliable as they come, done over one hundred thousand miles and still going strong. It has always started first time even after leaving it standing for a few days. The fuel economy for the 1.3l engine is the same as my last car ...

I bought my Proton Persona XLi 1.6 in June 2002.The car had a metalic finish and included alloy wheels. It was comfortable enough to sit in and certainly had a bit of pull when driving, however the ride itself was poor and you could feel every pothole, bump that the car went over which made it uncomfortable. It wasn't expensive to insure and running costs were pretty low. I achieved around 42 miles to the gallon which wasn't too bad for a 1.6 ...
...to have a conversation with any passengers in the back who often complained " I can't hear you". A piece of good advice to potential buyers would be to go to a Proton dealer who know the ins and outs of their product- don't just go to a general garage. ...

Oh the proton persona, I've had 2 of these now the first was a 1.6 SEI and the second the 1.8 SRI. This model is based on the Mitsubishi lancer and it also carries the very fast reliable Mitsubishi engines. I have got to admit when I brought the first one I got ripped by my friend at first then they realised the potential in the car as the performance was excellent and the handling was good too. I got the Mitsubishi evolution 2 front bumper for mine ...

I got my Proton Persona in June 2008. Basically, Proton Persona is a great budget car with great functionality. It is also a fuel saver car, which can be drive over 320km with 35 Liters of petrol on normal road in Penang, which having traffic problems almost all the time.
