Advantages: Record any DAB station to SD-Ram card,Good sound, receives DAB & FM, Plays MP3 CDS Disadvantages: A bit lacking in BASS output & definition.

With the DMX-50 Pure have opened the way to turn any DAB radio show into a PODCAST or CD virtually at the touch of a button. Read on to find out how...
So what is the DMX-50? Basically it is a very nicely built mini HIFI system sporting 40W RMS per channel output. It plays CDs and it receives DAB and FM radio. So far pretty standard stuff. But the really clever bit is that it also RECORDS any DAB signal in full un-transcoded quality to ... ...the mock rosewood units that Pure supply. Don't confuse these with the usual cheap rubbish that other manufacturers supply with their mini systems. They actually seem pretty well designed and built and they produce a pretty well rounded sound within the limitations that I have already stated.
I brought my unit to replace a bedroom system that, after 18 years of service had reached its end of life! In this setting the Pure scores in that it is quite ...

Advantages: Sleek design, ability to pause & rewind live radio, ability to connect MP3 player Disadvantages: In my eyes none!
I got given this little beauty for my birthday last year and it's proved itself one of my best presents ever. It was incredibly easy to setup and although I always love a good read of the manual with a glass of wine I was fairly thankful that it did its own thing so I could listen to music right away. I love the look of this unit - the brushed silver looks sophisticated and smart and it's a good size, so fits nicely on my book shelf. The buttons ... ...is a lovely big size and shows all the important bit of info such as time, date, signal strength, station name, track listings to name but a few.

There is also a USB connection for firmware ...

Advantages: Large display screen (with adjustable brightness), top quality sound, smart and sopisticated looks and ofcourse the ReVu tchnology Disadvantages: no playback through USB, it is very expencise
The DMX50, in my eyes is the pinnacle of all existing DAB radios. It offers the ability to pause and rewind live radio (ReVu), it will also allow you to record direct from the radio onto an SD card (the type found in many cameras). I have been told that you should be able to rewind about 10-20 mins but in my experience it is usually between 9-10 mins. The large screen will display both the name of the station and Radio Text on FM; on DAB it will ... ...the DMX50 is very user friendly, it is very self explanatory how to anything. Although the Tune/Select knob will take some getting used to: you have to turn it anti-clockwise to go up, which dose not correspond to the volume knob where it is the pretty standard clockwise to turn the volume up. The DMX50 also has the looks to rival its features, everything about it screams I am worth well over £229- the price I paid for mine. From the face of it, ...
