Pure Digital Evoke 3

I pondered for ages trying to decide between the Roberts RD55 and Pure's Evoke 3 as I wanted something that had functionality to pause and rewind, record (specifically to SD card), play FM stations, have stereo sound and play MP3's as well as one that gave great sound and could carry base and wouldn't distort at high volumes but I couldn't find anywhere on the net that compared the 2. I knew the Evoke 3 had won loads of awards but that was in 2006 ...

In the end I realised the only option was to actually go into a shop and listen to the sound for myself (having a baby I'd put off doing that as it can be such a mission to get out these days!). I have had this radio about a year, first I was looking for an ipod dock so I could play tunes in the kitchen or outdoors. I soon decided a dock on its own is pretty pointless I may as well get a digital radio with an aux in socket. Finding the evoke 3 does has this and also takes and sd card (1gb) I bought one. The sd card holds about 10 cds worth of music so I rarely need the ipod aux in connector. I also got the charge pak so that the batterys ...

So a pretty expensive ipod dock maybe but it is small and neat and only needs a wire if your charging it or on the rare occasions I actually plug the ipod into it instead of using the built in mp3 player. Putting music onto the card is easy just plug the radio into the usb on computer (lead required but I just use my printers usb cable). this lead will also update the radio software from pure.com if you can be bothered. Pure is a fantastic quality company always highly recommended by professionals, DAB radio is highly recommended for the quality of stattions around the country with speech stations, pop, rock, classical, oldies, bascially there is a station for every person. Has all the features the avid radio listener would want with pause and rewind features so you will never miss your favourite show, or you can listen to the latest tune again and again. Only negative is the fact it doesn't come with an sd memory card so you have to purchase one separately if you plan to record your favourite shows.
