...I first shopped with QVC a couple of years ago . I had seen some of the programmes previously , but always thought that buying goods without actually seeing them beforehand was a bit risky .
It was one of the beauty programmes that changed my mind and first tempted me to place an order . The hour was dedicated to Molton Brown , a range which I had prior experience of but could not buy locally , and having seen the item I wanted ( and finding that ... ...date shown on the invoice QVC do indeed refund the full purchase price even if during the 30 days you have used most of the product . Amazing if you think about it . However , my product was fine and on this occasion I didn't return it . ...will be improved.
Basically QVC is a home shopping channel available via Digital Satellite or Cable TV. It transmits live for 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. The remaining time is taken up with the day's highlights.
The programming is broken down into specialist hours. A resident QVC presenter accompanied sometimes by a salesperson of a specific product presents each hour. A QVC presenter may be on air for a couple of hours before reappearing after ... ...The quality of the QVC products has improved over the years. Some of the products in the early years were a little naff. Nowadays most of the QVC products match the quality of goods in the High Street.
The value of QVC products is very good. They consistently beat the prices of corresponding items on the High Street. This is because QVC buys its products in bulk and so gets its items at the cheapest possible price. Even QVC presenters have to pay ...

Advantages: quick and easy Disadvantages: cant check what you are buying
...You probably all know what QVC is, so why spend time talking about it?.
Instead why not read on with a cup of tea at hand.
QVC is perhaps the most recognised name for interactive shopping. QVC was founded in 1986 by Joseph Segel, a 63 year old who was interested in developing a new form of direct marketing business. He decided to start QVC after watching the Home Shopping Network for a few minutes in Florida. He saw the need for a new kind of retail ... ...share. Publicly offered at $10, QVC stock closed its first trading day at $20 per share.
QVC began on November 24th 1986 from 7.30pm to 12.00 midnight. The first broadcast was carried by 58 cable systems in 20 states. To lend credibility to the new company, QVC made a two-year deal to sell sears products.
Segal demanded that the Presenters sell by informing not pressuring the viewers about the product (Is this still maintained? Hmm I wonder lol) ...

Advantages: see it, pay for it, wait for it Disadvantages: you can easily let your spending get out of hand
...but OK, I Confess!
QVC is actually quite entertaining, whether you are actually going to buy any of the goods or not. The presenters are obviously aiming to plug the products, but most of them have a bit of personality and some of the guests are fun too.
I can't remember all the names, but the Fitness guy Tony Little sticks in my mind. He couldn't possibly not, really - with his muscles and his long hair, he thinks he's every woman's dream. Not ... ...a couple of things from QVC (or fortunately as the case may be). Both of the items have been for our home office - a Rexel Laminator and a Lexmark Inkjet printer. Both were probably around a tenner cheaper than we could have got them elsewhere and that's including the p&p charge too. So they were good deals.
They always say 'you can't buy cheaper' and they have a money back guarantee, but I wonder how often people actually do return items?
All ...

Advantages: cheap and reliable Disadvantages: annoying and done from home
QVC offers you the shopping experience from the comfort of your own home. They sell everything from lights to jewellery etc. at very reasonable prices. The quality of their products are very good and the vale for money brilliant the only snag is that you have to wait a week to get your goods and it is not the same as looking round shops to buy something, however this will be ideal for many people it's just that I personally find it take the fun out ... ...things that you just cannot find anywhere else.
All you need is a credit card or cheque, the product number and a phone and then ordering a product is simple and straight forward, some items can be paid for in instalments also.
The only problem is that the presenters spend ages on a single product selling it to the viewers and repeat the same things over and over again, this is tedious and most annoying and I find myself channel hoping and finding ...

...much choice. I noticed the QVC channel as my neighbour flicked through and thought people who shopped on it must have a screw loose.
Not that we are nosey neighbours, but we couldn't help noticing occasional boxes emblazong with "QVC" on them arriving at our neighbour's door. Sometimes she was out and we took them in for her. We would shake, sniff and try to peer in them. They were all sorts of odd sizes and only thing we think we guessed correctly ... ...my neighbour was buying on QVC because she didn't have enough to do in the day. We felt sorry for her.
Then, last year, we signed up for satellite television. What a revelation. A whole world was opened up to us. Discovery channels, Paramount Comedy, and SHOPPING! We watched it a couple of times, wondering who would be mad enough to buy anything on these things. Then it happened. A chap was on advertising his book on household cleaning. He said ...

...on QVC! I have watched QVC since we started with ntl as our cable subscriber, and I wonder if I am alone in thinking the presenters do a great job at selling the items? The presenters themselves are a mixed bag. I admit to having my favourites, and there are a couple of presenters that just make me want to switch channels. Myself and my daughter met her this year and last at the Ideal Home Show at Earl's Court and she was very ...

Advantages: no trek to the shops Disadvantages: getting through can be difficult sometimes
QVC offer shopping via the TV and a telephone/internet site.
The range of products offered is not that great and they seem to have a lot of jewelry and makeup as well as it products and a number of other things.
Getting through for some items can be a lengthy business but the call is free so not really a problem.

QVC is a UK based home shopping channel currently available on Sky or digital TV..its the type of channel you either love or loathe! Me? Well I have to confess, I have bought various products from QVC and can honestly say I have always been delighted with the service provided and the quality of the goods ordered, in particular, their skin care range of products and the jewellery ranging from fashion/costume to 14 carat gold splendour! Advantages: extremely funny Disadvantages: full of over priced naffness!
I came across QVC shopping channel purely by accident when I first got cable tv. This channel is so bad its just so funny. The presenters are wooden! The sets are produced on the cheap and the goods are tacky at the best. But when you hear the presenters wax lyrically on and on (and they do!) about some piece of must have over priced jewelery which looks awful it can really be side splittingly funny. ...I do agree that on QVC they do have alot of jewellery which does stop you watching it and also the jewelry is so expensive.
