    Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of money

Well as you may or may not have noticed I am a huge Arsenal fan, but my beloved boyfriend is mad about Queens Park Rangers, so I thought it only fair that I write an op about them. There are many football debates in our household, but as I keep explaining to Lee (my other half) there really is no point talking football with me when he supports a second division team. (bless) In the last 5 years we have been together I have seen more matches at Loftus Road (QPR Stadium) than I have at Highbury, so I have a fair idea of the goings on at the loft. Here is a brief history of our local team – ... more

    Advantages Advantages Clarke Carlisle

    Disadvantages Disadvantages More injuries

No doubt last seasons win was signing up Stuart Wardley from Saffron Walden Town for £15,000 last July. This year it seems to be Paul Furlong who scored an excellent goal against Crewe Alexandra. The ball was deflected off the Crewe's goalkeeper Jason Kearton into the back of the net. But it seems that both players are injured at the moment so who will Gerry depend on to score the goals?! Chris Kiwomya looks favourite so far and with Clarke Carlisle in defence surely QPR can't lose. With a not bad start to the season can they get into the play-offs? One thing's for sure that they need to start ... more

Advantages Advantages good youth, solid defence

Disadvantages Disadvantages no money, poor strikers

QPR are looking up. considering before last season, the last two years were finished just above the relegation zone, to have hopes at one point of getting into the play-offs is nothing short of a miracle by gerry francis. decent signings in the of carlisle and connelly, warren is unknown really. francis can be trusted with small signings after darlington and wardley proved last year. he is an excellent small club manager. no promotion this year, but the defence is sound and there is good youth coming through in the shape of langley, jeanne and highly rated keeper niki bull(you heard it here ... more

    Advantages Advantages Name. Kiwomya

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Form

Queens Park rangers? Who are they? well they've got one of the most under hyped squads in england and always put on a brave face only to deliver a poor performance - in my view they will not make the playoffs and top table is unlikely - some of their players are of a world class - the most noteable being Kris Kiwomya - a very talent goal scorer. I hope that their ground gets better as their stadium looks boring and old - and all the U21 England matches get played here!! Mid table - lower is my view. If they had kept Les ferdinand - then they'd be OK. ... more

The question for me about QPR is can they imporve on the season they had last year and get into the play off's. I think Lee Harper is a decent keeper but needs to work on his distribution but the problem comes if he gets injured as the back up isn't strong enough. The defence if all the strongest players are fit (Baraclough/Ready/Rose/Carlise/Darlington) are fit is actually 1 of the strongest in the division and with players like Steve Morrow in reserve only a severe injury crisis will leave this area looking weak. The midfield lacks a good quality strong tackler but does have a pretty good ... more

the boys in the blue and white hoops from loftus road have vague memories of what life is like in the premier league and will hope that the memories can be freshened by another go at it. if they do get promoted again, they will have to put on a better showing of themselves then they did last time they were up there, with them going straight back from where they came from almost straight away. i feel that they need to sign a few more quality players if they are to get to and stay in the big time ... more

Advantages Advantages Once were a good team

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slipping through the divisions

If you are a journeyman striker, sooner or later you will walk through the gates at Loftus Road. There you will disappear into a black hole of obscurity, never to be seen again. This seems to be the trend of this once good club. Buy lots of strikers and dont worry about the rest of the team. That is why they are slipping into Division 2 for next season. At the end of last season, Karl Connolly was brought in from Wrexham (my team). At work we talk about football and our respective teams quite a bit. I was told, by a QPR fan, that connolly would dissappear within 6 months. Laughing at his ... more

Advantages Advantages Good youngsters coming through

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of cash

Back in the eighties when we had Kevin Keegan as a player at Newcastle United, QPR were the team to beat in division two (old), and they indeed gained promotion, so it saddens me to see them deteriorating. However this year I think they will do better than they have of late. I cannot see them getting promotion but easily top half should be acheived. They have a few decent young ones coming through, and i particularly like the look of Leonne Jean. Whatever happened to Kevin Gallen though, he was outstanding in his first season or so but he then fell away - why was this? By now I would have said ... more

    Advantages Advantages not many

Disadvantages Disadvantages Need money and better players

QPR's hopes of ever seeing the premership league in the next ten years just keeps getting smaller and smaller by the game. They have a great team on paper but with injuries with some great players and the selling of great players in the past, like Les Ferdinand and Trevor Sinclair they seem to be dropping further and further. Is it time for a new manager they have to ask? and i think most people know the answer, yes, although Francis used to be an excellent player in his day he just hasnt got the experience or the money to save QPR from falling to division 2 ... more
