Advantages: easyin use free speed camera aerts and updates discount on RAC membership Disadvantages: very occasionally a bit slow picking up signal
...price direct from RAC but you can get cheaper elsewhere. It is however well worth it and I have come to rely on it and would well advise people to give it due consideration and not too be put off by the fact that it is not the most expensive. ...

Advantages: touch screen menu, easy to use, works on post codes, calculates distances Disadvantages: the computer generated voice is grinding
...in the direction of the RAC 200, a fairly cheap SatNav at £99.
Small in size at 10 x 8.5 x 2.5 cm the RAC 200 has a 3.5 inch touch screen user interface that can be attached really securely to the windscreen. The software is easy to set up and even has voice instructions should on the onscreen prompts be too complicated.
The RAC 200 is not only a SatNav that will guide you from A to B using postcodes rather than addresses, it also uploads when ... ...points I already know the way to and switch it on when I move into unknown territory. Advantages: Value for money, ease of setting up, intuitive to use Disadvantages: Doesn't recognise some of the more rural obscure addresses
The RAC 200 is an excellent SatNav at the lower end of the market. I'd been put off getting one for ages until I had a weekend coming that I knew would be taking me all over the UK. Okay, so the RAC 200 may have trouble recognising some of the more obscure rural addresses (I still had to print a local map of one drop off place near Wrexham) but, considering the value for money and the ease of use, I would say it's an excellent option for someone wanting something at the lower end of the market who requires little by way of starting up and installing.
I bought mine in Argos at £89.99 in November '08 and feel it was money ...

Advantages: Cheap, easy to operate Disadvantages: Takes ages to pick up GPS signals, very basic.
Bought this for £99.99 from Currys, its easy to operate but pretty basic overall, I took it back and exchanged it for a Tom Tom One at £114.99 because it took anything up to 30 minutes to obtain a GPS signal which I found extremely annoying and time wasting, when it did finally obtain a signal it only found two satellites, where the Tom Tom finds six or seven, also the memory card protrudes from the unit and can foul on the cradle if you're not careful, ...
