...found the perfect one from Royal Bank of scotland.
The REVOLVE account is specifically for 11- 18 year olds.
It took a while to finally register, but only because they are very detailed about identity details needed to join, which to me is a very good thing.

Advantages: Paying off your mortgage quickly and saving you thousands of pounds Disadvantages: You need a lot of common sense and future vision to benefit from this account
...it up at my local Royal Bank of Scotland. As for the common sense approach to this account. You can take payment breaks when you like, take more money out on your house and buy a car, holiday or home improvements, as long as you pay the interest the One Account are happy. But I can not emphasise enough that if you don't pay the debt, then you will stay in debt, it is the same no matter if it is a credit card bill or £100,000 on your house….the debt ... ...am not going to harp on for ages about the pro's and con's of this mortgage, but the smart money is held in these accounts, and as long as you are careful, sensible and have a desire to actually own your house one day then this is the best form of mortgage ever, it really is that simple. Feel free to read reviews about these guys not passing on interest rate cuts etc, SO WHAT!!! Come on, in reality these days of petrol price hikes and food price ...

...of my enquires.
The Royal Bank of Scotland's student Royalties account was recommended to me by a friend, however I wasn't too keen as a year earlier I had tried to open a current account with them and was dismayed with the way I was treated by staff, and abruptly left the branch. This time I was more determined to open an account due to their excellent interest free overdraft - up to £2000.
The account comes with the all important switch card ... ...card itself is available with a laser etched signature and photo ID, to combat fraud and is offered free of charge.
Other bonuses include: Student belongings insurance, lost key retrieval service, discounted CD's DVD' & books, concert tickets and much more besides. There are also various loan schemes for law and healthcare students, and of course telephone and digital banking are thrown into the pot.
My only concern has been with the time it takes ...

Advantages: see exactly how much your mortgage is costing, offset savings against mortgage Disadvantages: I haven't got a local branch!!!
I have had my RBOS One Account now since April and I think it is great. I have lived in my house now for five years and changed my mortgage 3 times, I am one of these people that doesn't like to waste money and if I think that I can get a better deal elsewhere I will do it, there is no room for loyalty when it comes to mortgages you don't get any rewards nowadays for being loyal. I had been loyal to Natwest with my current account for about 20 years ... ...and I opted to try the one account it was so straight forward I had a flyer on it and called them with my last mortgage statement and it had everything they needed to know, I also gave them my current account details and they did everything for me including changing my direct debits and standing orders over. I do most of my banking online and I find there online service brilliant it has all the information on it I need it isn't great when you go ...

A very cost effective solution for maintaining business accounts. A nominal transaction charge of £ 0.20 per transaction, with complete access to the account online and by telephone without any extra charge. One gets a card that can be used to withdraw cash from any cash machine nationwide, and cheques have to be sent by post in prepaid envelopes supplied free of cost by RBS. Advantages: overdraft facility Disadvantages: overdraft facility!! lack of customer service
I have just spent over an hour trying to get someone to deal with my RBS Student account. I was attracted to this account, like many others, because of the large interest free overdraft. Consequently, I maxed out the overdraft, stuck the money in another account to earn interest and thought all was fine and dandy.
Suddenly, I get a letter from them explaining that I hadn't had any payments into my account in a while and to call them. Fair enough.
... ...minutes, I got through to a girl who said that all I needed to do was put £20 or something into my account. Fine.
2nd phone call- I had forgotten my sort code and didn't have it to hand as they don't print this on letters (what???!), so I called up again and asked for this in order that I could transfer money from my BoS account. This time, I got a scary sounding guy who accused me of abusing the service and showing no commitment to the account. ...

Advantages: Offsetting savings against your mortgage Disadvantages: truly awful website for online banking
I've had a RBOS One Account for around a year now, and I'd recommend it to anyone. It has really changed the way I think about the mortgage and how much it costs over the time of the loan. The One Account allows you to keep all of your savings in one account (no!) and that money gets offset from your debt. I don't have much in the way of savings but it is amazing how a little extra in there soon mounts up, and it gives a real incentive to save. It's ... ...restriction. The RBOS still has loads of local branches so I can actually *go into a bank* - a real novelty as I couldn't do it with my previous mortgage holder. On the negative side, I don't even check my balance on cash machines anymore because it's too depressing seeing a balance that's minus a few hundred thousand - it doesn't offer any real indication of how much you actually have to spend. The website is also truly awful and (i believe) bug ...

...INTO debt, I chose the Royal Bank of Scotland. They have provided me with a consistently efficient service, good interest rates on credit balances, and an interest free overdraft which is totally hassle free. I have been a customer of the RBS since I was 17, and had a route seventeen account. A year or so later, they informed me that I could now change my account to a student royalties account as I was a sixth form student. I did so, and they promised to send off the Student Royalties pack with information on how to use all the fantastic offers I could now enjoy. I did not recieve this, and I also did not recieve my paying in book, or cheque book, or ... ...all of this, and I then got sent my paying in book. After asking again, I got my cheque book, and cheque guarantee card. I then went off to University in Newcastle. After several weeks of being at Uni, I recieved a bizarre letter through the post from the RBS. The letter thanked me for my interest in Student Royalties, and sent me an application form for the said account, which I remind you I was already a member! I then sent a very angry letter ...

I had been with Royal Bank of Scotland ever since i was born when my parents set up my first account. I didn't really use the bank very much until i was fourteen and I got my first paper round and so i relied on it to ge my wages out. I have to say that the money was put into my account almost straight away and the interest rates were good because i was a young person and it is an incentive to get you to save your money. Every three months there ... ...were pretty good with competitions to win iPods and dvds. Also RBS had ties with firms so, for example, if I wanted to order a dvd from a certain store then I could call up the phone number given, quote my RBS account number and get a 25% discount on the dvd, very good for young people who don't have a lot of money. I was also sent out a special keyring with my special RBS number on it to put on my set of keys so that in case I left my keys somewhere, ...

RBS phoned today and without prior warning demanded I pay half my overdraft immediately! I tried to negotiate paying in a day or two, but they insisted on paying in over the same phone call! They said otherwise they will send a letter demanding FULL payment of the overdraft in 28 days! They are losing their graduates just as they are on the verge of earning. Luckily I can manage to pay the overdraft with a few arrangements, but for many students with similar stories banking with RBS is driving on a bumpy road with a dead end. I am looking forward to closing my account soon, and advising against RBS for the rest of my life. Farewell RBS and "A good riddance of ...
