GOD is Back

Advantages: Excellent player, superb down to earth lad,
Disadvantages: attracts the gutter press a bit too much

...press off the media. Robbie was born on April the 9th 1975 and was brought up on a rough housing estate in the Toxteth area of Liverpool (scene of the infamous riots), as a youngster he was actually a Evertonian (he hasn’t always been perfect LOL), while attending Nugent Secondary School, he was selected for the Liverpool under 14’s team and was spotted by Liverpool scout Jimmy Aspinall, two years later he signed schoolboy forms for ...
...the referee gave a penalty, Robbie immediately jumped up and said to the ref it was not a penalty and he fell over (thus saving Seaman from getting sent off), now how many of today’s players would do that and also the incredible support Fowler and team-mate Steve McManaman showed to the Liverpool Dockers, during the much publicised Liverpool Dockers strike, where they donated huge amounts of their wages to the Dockers and their families as ...

good but always injured!

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

this player would have been good for england in recent and future mtches if he hadnt been plaqued with a succession of injuries. The man is a good finisher but he could do with becoming a little bit more mature as his goal celebration when he pretended to sniff cocaine showed. if this player gets fit and back in form he could make a great influence on the england team as he has pace and good finishing.he could even link up well with his team mate ...

If he'd stop being so bloody immature!

Advantages: Nice bloke, great touches, not bad for a Liverpoolian`
Disadvantages: Immature

The glue sniffing business against Everton last season (1999/2000) is a classic illustration of Robbie's typical character. It was stupid and he was apologetic about the guesture afterwards. He is not good enough for England's first eleven and is on the edge of the England 22. I think up front, M.Owen and K.Philips should start with A.Cole and R.Fowler on the bench. I think a rotation should be in place. I know I have missed out Heskey but I have ...
...think the partnership between he and M.Owen is not amazing. R.Fowler should be started for England although I fear he may miss out at Liverpool in which case he is in danger of being dropped by Keegan. Keegan is a strange manager who is petrified of change. I wish he would swap his squad around a bit - try a bit of experimentation. We saw far to much of Beckham/Seaman/Shearer in Euro 2000. We should have used those matches to strengthen our squad ...

a strange choice by keegan

Advantages: finishing ability
Disadvantages: that blond haircut he had a couple of years back

...the chance he deserved against malta in a friendly, or in euro 2000? heskey is nowhere near the player that fowler is, but still he gets the nod ahead of the toxteth terier. i only hope that keegan sees the light and affords robbie the chance he deserves. ...

Fowler the autobiography - a fascinating read

Advantages: Great insight into what goes on behind the scenes in football
Disadvantages: Written before Fowler rejoined the reds so another chapter needed

...tag was all about, why Robbie never really got his chance with England and anything else you can care to mention, this will give you the answers. Of course it is a one sided view but it is fascinating none the less. At times it can get a bit repetitive as Robbie says he is just a lad from Toxteth a hundred times but you didn't really expect writing of the highest order did you? What you do get is Robbie's story from the very beginning playing for ...
...this is a surprisingly addictive read. For me personally as a Liverpool fan who remembers when Robbie burst onto the scene there were so many memories as I read the book. Add to this loads of photos too and this is a book that every football fan should read. ...

Past it!!!.....at his age???

Advantages: Finsihing was good
Disadvantages: Past it at only 24

...that someone as young as Robbie Fowler coiuld be said to be past it, but i think that it is true. he used to be the bees knees and banging in the goals whenever he played. Now he is constantly on the treatment table, and he seems to have lost all confidence in his ability to score, as shown by his dreadful penalty on Thursday. he is no longer first choice at Liverpool, because he does not play well with Owen- Heskey is better, so why is he playing ...
