Advantages: Cant put it down, a real good feeling book, trip down memory lane for us 30 somethings. Disadvantages: Biggest disavantage is that it ever came to the end.
...titles the story “Shane Ritchie Rags to Riches – the story so far …..”. I cannot wait as I thoroughly enjoyed reading every page and I have warmed to Shane considerably.
There is a good selection of family and show biz photo’s included in the 284 pages of riveting read. You will also find a paperback version available from THE BOOK STORE at £4.99, but check out Amazon as well. You can find them on www.amazon.co.uk. The ISBN number is 1-84357-099-8 ... ...I haven’t given too much away of the storyline and I am sure if you are contemplating this as your next book, you wont be disappointed. You wont need a masters degree in Physics to read it but you will get a damned good laugh. Thanks for reading. ...

...his autobiography came out – Rags To Richie – I thought I’d give it a try. I borrowed it from the library and finished it yesterday. So what did I think? Is Mr. Richie really that old slappable love rat I thought he was or is he as adorable as Alfie? Read on to find out.

I began reading Rags To Richie expecting my image of Shane to revert to the old one. I knew he would cover his infidelity, his mistakes, his ... ...all with dignity, after reading Rags To Richie. He compliments Coleen all the time, allows her to be seen only with respect and hardly has a bad word to say about her. Compared to her very public and often nasty comments about Shane, he comes across as being the nicer of the two by some distance.
Shane Richie describes the highs and lows of his life with equal space and emotion. From being a millionaire with a partying lifestyle to losing it all ...

Advantages: Compulsive reading Disadvantages: None at all really
...the books I read was Rags to Ritchie by Shane Ritchie (with Sue Crawford). And I’m surprised to admit it was a dam good read!
Previous thoughts about Shane.
I didn’t have any strong feelings about his career prior to Eastenders where I think he does a superb job as Alfie Moon. I always considered Shane to be a slightly cheesy light entertainer, Mr Quiz show, every ones mate, always there with a witty quip or a sharp answer. I knew he ... ...was in Grease and therefore must be able to sing and dance a bit but what came across as I got stuck in to this book is that he is obviously a consummate professional who has paid his dues on the Club Scene. He has had his fair share of nights where he has ‘died’ on stage and learnt from it, perfecting his craft to the extent he can take a lead role in a west end musical means he must be an exceptionally dedicated and talented individual. ...

Advantages: Excellent and descriptive Disadvantages: It has to end!
This biography from Shane Richie, was the first biography I have ever read, and I thought that these books can be quite boring unless you really idolise the person who the book is about!
I only knew Shane Richie through my parents and I had never seen a show with him before Eastenders, when my mum said that he was going to be in it and how thrilled she was, I was looking forward to seeing what all the fuss was about! I watched the episodes and grew ... ...about him, so I decided to get his book for myself at Christmas!
I started to read it on Christmas Day and I had finished it by Boxing Day night! I just couldn't put it down, it explained all his highs and lows in his life and he was very truthful in the relationship with coleen nolan, and the affairs he had during his life.
How he got a job with the bluecoats at Pontins before he was even older enough to join them. Also he made alot of friends, ...

Advantages: A trip down memory lane for those who also remember the Nolans Disadvantages: ended too soon
Well I must say, after receiving this book as a birthday present I thought I might give it a try when there's nothing else to be done. What a pleasant read I found it to be, very entertaining. The book depicts well the atmosphere and camraderie at Pontin's, and he certainly did live it up while working there (puts Alfie Moon in the shade!) Shane's personality and sense of humour definitely comes through I almost laughed out loud at times. Although ... ...latter stages of the book as his marriage breaks down, and Shane knows he only has himself to blame he finds the guilt very hard to bear. I got the impression that Shane and Coleen Nolan were made for each other, but he blew it!!!! Altogether an entertaining read and was sad to come to the end. ...
