SEGA Rally 2 is in many wasys a good release with almost arcade perfect graphics, handling and gameplay. Also with extra tracks and cars but this is not enought to save the game from the shoody conversion. Screen borders and ever present drop in frame rate as you approach corners mean this game will only be a dissapointment to those who have played the superior arcade version. The saturn version of sega rally was in all fairness closer to its arcade ...

Many people believe that Sega’s Rally series is the best rally racing you can find on any system. Heck it’s been on the Saturn, in the arcades, and even on the PC. Now Sega has released Sega Rally 2 (SR2) on its new next-generation system and the result has been a good one. Can Sega’s lack of online capabilities and new modes make Sega Rally 2 worth purchasing? This game is very good, i enjoyed playing it and it took a long time to finish. The graphics are very good and all the tracks are rendered in real time 3D. This is a game that has been converted from the arcade and is almost identical in every way except that it has extras. It has extra tracks and cars and diffrent options that give the game a better life span such as the 10 year mode. Sega have don it again with another excelent piece of gaming. ...

...that never stopped playing sega rally on saturn so when the sequel came around i was totally psyched and bought it at launch day (in eur.).
And i was not dissapointed, this game rocks so much it's unbelievable. You have the standard arcade mode (drive on four courses), vs battle, time attack, and the meat of the game the 10 year championship, choose a car and drive on four courses, the time of the day and weather varies and adds some extra elements ...

The Truth is, Sega Rally 2 had a lot to live up to with the brilliant Sega Rally on the Saturn as it's predecessor and promised so much and delivered relatively little. To be fair the game has good graphics, a whole load more cars and tracks than before, and an all new 10 year championship career mode - but it's not good enough. In fact it falls short of expectations by a long way. With no promised online head 2 head net play - thanks to the awful ... ...crash damage - still - making the game pale in comparison to the far more realistic, although less polished - graphic wise, Colin McRae 2. And I think this is a view shared by many DC owners. I still think it's fun but way too hard and way too unrealistic. ...

Sega rally 2 has a nice selection of different ways to play. You can choose from the original arcade version, with its total of four tracks and simplistic options, to a ten year championship, with all the tracks and options. You can also tune up the car including being able to adjust suspension, brakes, gear ratios, turning speed. The cars look perfect with beautiful aerodynamic curves and some really neat reflection effects. This game should have been the best. It had the newest machine to use to its full capabilitles, it had the pedigree but how did it end up so boring. It looks that it was a rushed game just to meet the release date. The worst thing is that after some more racing games come out, this game will be largely ignored and these new games that have had the proper development time dedicated to it will be a much better and enjoyable game to play. Sega Rally 2 is the sequel to one of the sega Saturn’s best games: sega rally. Although a great improvement over the original sega classic it isn’t an amazingly good game, just a quite good game. If you really like racing games though (As I do) then you cant really go very wrong with this game. It has a huge variety of tracks and many modes including a 10 year championship mode. This game is really worth looking into if you enjoy playing racing games ...
